Handy Guy

I first contacted Arthur about a week ago regarding smaller jobs that needed to be done in my apartment. Although Arthur has been responsive to emails, after selecting a day to have him come by and working to confirm this day, the morning of I received a response letting me know that he totally forgot about coming by and would not be able to make it. With only one of our roommates sparingly home during the workday, Arthur having to cancel because he forgot was inexcusable and I have instead chosen to go with another handyman.

Arthur is a life saver! He’s been to our house twice in the past two months and we are left in awe of his speed, professionalism and expertise. His prices are reasonable and his workmanship top notch. A definite «must hire» if you need anything done around your house.

Arthur was a great help to me! He was able to come shortly after I contacted him. He arrived on time; completed the work professionally, promptly, and well; and was pleasant to work with. I’ll hire him again anytime I have handy man jobs around my home.

I wish I had hired Arthur sooner and for other projects. He hung pendant lights in my kitchen. Of course I order from Amazon and they weren’t exactly perfect, but he made them work and they look fantastic! He also hung some large mirrors for me. After they were hung I wanted them moved and he changed the brackets on mirror instead of another hole in wall. Genius.

Arthur was great to work with; very skilled, smart, got the job done and put up with my extremely annoying tenants. While he was working (and my building was in the process of being shut down by the Arlington Fire Department), Arthur was professional and funny and efficient. I would gladly recommend him and use him for any other repairs. A real find!

Arthur is not only a skilled handyman, but is courteous, responsive, and easy to work with. Personally I love that he responds via email so I’m not playing phone tag. We have had him install new doors and replace some rotting trim on our shed, build new stairs from our deck (two steps, so a small job), and replace a section of interior wall that had been deteriorating horsehair plaster. While he was here he looked at our sink faucet that had been leaking as well.
More recently he came over to assess our front storm door for possible replacement, and he made some small repairs right then for no charge. They were intended as temporary measures, but will probably buy us several months more out of the old door before we have to actually replace it. His pricing is very reasonable, and he goes the extra mile to make sure you’ll be happy with what you’re getting. He’s become our trusty neighborhood handyman (literally, since he lives around the corner from us!) I highly recommend him!

Arthur is very competent, he communicates clearly, and he works fast. If you are looking for high quality work, he’s your guy. I’m very happy with the work he’s done at my place and I would absolutely call him again for repairs in the future.

Arthur came by my apartment in the South End to mount a TV to the wall in my bedroom, hang some light sconces, and install some closet lights. It was entirely refreshing to work with someone who was on time.
Arthur has an excellent work ethic and an amazing eye for detail. While installing my TV mount, he noticed a large hole in the wall left by previous tenants and he quickly patched it up without a word. While hanging the light sconces, he noticed that a picture frame I had on the same wall was not level and he corrected it. His craftsmanship is flawless.
He finished in exactly 2 hours and I was very impressed by all that he got done for me in this short time. I am all ready thinking about other projects I can have him come back and do. I would not hesitate to recommend him or his work.

Arthur is AMAZING!
I contacted him to remove a vanity, large mirror, and lighting fixture in my bathroom and to install new pieces. He was responsive and very thorough, asking for specific pictures of things to know what the work would entail.
The work took a total of a day and a half, and the end result is fantastic. Everything was installed meticulously and Arthur even disposed of the old fixtures for no additional charge. He was constantly in communication with me throughout the process, and was very upfront about any additional work that needed to be done (such as filling the massive hole that was discovered behind the mirror).
Arthur’s best attributes are definitely his honesty and his willingness to help. I never once questioned any of the things he recommended doing, and his pricing was great. He definitely undercharged us (which we told him!) but having a handyman as great as he is is almost priceless. I’ve had bad experiences getting work done before, and I am so thrilled to have found Arthur. My mom was also in town while Arthur was here, and several times he heard us talking about removing something or another job we were working on. He was quick to help out wherever he could and so incredibly helpful.
If you are looking for a handyman, I HIGHLY recommend Arthur!

I had to have my door fixed after the jam and molding were ruined. I read the reviews of Arthur and reached out. He was super responsive and up front and honest about all the costs. He came when he said he would and did the job perfectly. He was in contact with me throughout the process while I was at work.

While moving patio furniture I broke the single pane glass window of the exterior door in my apartment. I had a lot of trouble finding someone to take on a small job last minute. I came across Arthur’s profile on Unilocal,crossed my fingers and hoped he could help.
I got an email back very quickly and a follow up call to set up a day for him come by. He kept in contact with me via email and sent a text letting me know he was going to be arriving shorty.
Overall this was an excellent experience. Arthur was very nice and professional. My house of 5 girls felt very safe letting him into our home and would absolutely call him again for anything that needs to be fixed around our old New England apartment!

Our experience with Arthur was everything you would hope for. I called him with only a week’s notice, and he gladly agreed to the exact day and time we needed him. He confirmed the day before, arrived on time and had a fantastic attitude. He was also incredibly handy! He did all of the odd jobs around the house to perfection. I would absolutely recommend Arthur to all of my friends and will be sure to call him for my next move!

Arthur was unable to keep his appointment with me and offered to do part of the work for free in return for my inconvenience, but I decided against that. He is a very nice person, obviously competent based on other reviews, but I am a one and done kind of person.

Late on a Saturday afternoon, I had pretty much given up on finding someone to replace a panel of glass on my door, when Art answered his phone (all other places i called went to voicemail) and quickly came to the rescue. He replaced the glass, did a stellar job, and my dog Olive loved him.

Arthur does what he says he is going to do when he says he will do it. He is a breath of fresh air in this industry! He did such a quality job on our projects. I look forward to the next time I get to work with him. In addition to great work, he has wonderful communication skills.

Handy Man is my go to for all projects around my home. He is handy (obviously), dependable, reasonable, conscientious and hard working. I have had him paint, install, and do small electrical projects at my 120 year old home. He is honest and I always appreciate his advice on any potential projects, small or large. I would not hesitate to recommend Handy Man for anything and everything. He will get back to you quickly with a fair quote and always follow through as promised.

Arthur did a great job helping us with projects of various sizes in our home from patching a ceiling hole to refinishing our living room which was demo’d down to the studs. He knowledgeable and communicates very well.
Probably the best parts of our experieces was that he always took his time to do the project right the first time. We never felt like he was rushing and it showed in the quality of the finished product.

Art is a great handyman. He is very quick to respond and quick to get the work done. His quality of work is great. Getting to know him personally as he helped me with a few projects, I realized he has done a ton of work on his own home and he made me feel the work he did in my home would be the same level of work he’d do in his own. That is exactly what I look for in someone working on my house.
As a real estate agent with buyers and sellers always looking for a handyman, I never hesitate to refer him. He is reliable, professional and I could not be happier to have found him.

I hired Arthur to do a lot of work for me over a number of weekends recently in Medford and in Woburn. I keep going back to him because he does such a great job!
He helped me prepare a rental property for tenants to move in. He installed an over-​the-​stove microwave, removed and boxed a large stair lift machine, fixed outlets, replaced hard-​to-​reach light bulbs, repaired a stuck closet door, did touch-​up painting… you name it.
His rates are very reasonable. As he worked, I kept finding more and more tasks for him to do. A lot of the stuff I can do myself, but Arthur has the tools and equipment to do it faster. Arthur is a godsend for my honey-​do list!
He also helped me put together a 3-​person sauna. It was an all-​day job, and it took a few hours just to unbox everything. When we realized that one of the walls had a manufacturing defect, I was worried I’d have to wait for a replacement part from California. Arthur saved the day! He found a way to fix it so that everything went together and I could enjoy the new sauna that same evening.
Arthur is great for jobs big and small. He is easy to get ahold of, knowledgeable, well prepared, and diligent. He is my go-​to handyman for my house and the rental property. Just today he built me an extra wooden shelf top to go in my living room. He built it at his workshop and delivered it this afternoon. He was even able to match the paint color with the three other shelves that were already there!
