I can’t really speak to their food. They never showed up. Nor would they pick up the phone when I called to complain.

I’ve only had one experience with La Rosa, but it will be my last. I placed an order on Foodler early Saturday afternoon. The estimated delivery time was a half hour. It took closer to an hour and fifteen minutes for the food to arrive. I live literally a five minute drive away. To further upset me, the delivery guy couldn’t even be bothered to put down his cell phone, much less apologize for the delay. While I can’t say for certain that he wasn’t receiving a live play-by-play of the birth of his first child or discussing essential security matters with a head of state, I somehow doubt it. Hopefully, he was talking with someone about the possibility of a new employment opportunity for when he gets fired from this one for doing such a dick job. I really need to learn not to tip the delivery guys in advance. While all that was annoying enough, I wouldn’t bad-mouth the place if the food had been great. Or good. Or acceptable. It wasn’t. My order consisted of a sub, a burger, a pizza and cookies. I ordered the burger medium rare. The burger that I received would have made someone who ordered it well-done send it back for being overcooked. Seriously, dry as bone. Terrible. The sub was actually tasty, but I asked for mayo and mustard on it. Instead, there was nothing on it besides the meat, and they sent packets of mayo and ketchup. Apparently, this is the one sub shop in Massachusetts that doesn’t have mustard. Or, more likely, the jackass who put the order together was talking on his cell phone at the same time and couldn’t be bothered to check his work. Furthermore, when I order a sandwich, I expect you to make the sandwich, not supply me with a do-it-yourself kit. If I wanted to make my own sandwich, I would. I am paying you to make the sandwich, and you should put the mayo and mustard on like I asked, even if you need to do the extra work of tearing open the packets yourself. The pizza was cold on arrival. Took one bite and gave up. Lastly, I asked and paid for 2 cookie orders and they only sent one. On the plus side, the cookies were delicious. On the negative side, they cost twice as much as they should have. But to be fair, I would actually have paid twice as much for those cookies. They were really good. The only other reviews of La Rosa currently on Unilocal are both great, so maybe I caught them on a bad day. Regardless, this one time was terrible enough that I actually spent the time and energy to write this review, which means it was pretty friggin’ bad. I won’t be giving them a second chance.

Best place on this side of Medford! Sandwiches and pizza are both really inexpensive, and always great. Never disappoints!
