Pediatric Associates of Medford, P.C.

I have been with Pediatric Associates of Medford since 1993. Dr. Jean Clifford has been our pediatrician since 1993 for my 3 children, ages 20,19,and 12. I can’t say enough good things about Dr. Clifford, her nurses and the staff. Over the years, my children have seen Dr. Clifford for a myriad of illnesses. She is very thorough and spot on when it comes to diagnosing our health issues. Any concerns that we have are always resolved and she spends as much time as needed to be sure we understand everything before we leave. She even takes the time to make a follow up phone call when needed. I am blessed to have found a pediatrician many years ago that our family trusts and feels very comfortable with. Kudos to Dr. Clifford for her outstanding professionalism.

We selected Pediatric Associates of Medford, specifically Dr. Clifford, as our daughter’s pediatrician over four years ago. She, and the other doctors in her practice, have been with us through many colds, vaccinations, ear infections, etc. There is always someone on call to answer our questions (even in the early morning hours). Dr. Clifford has offered helpful advice and answered a plethora of questions about our now two children. The office is centrally located, and has great hours (even weekend times). I would recommend Dr. Clifford and Dr. Locke from this practice.

I was really surprised to see the negative reviews on this place. I’ve taken both my kids to see Dr. Clifford for 3+ years, first my daughter (now 3.5) and now my son (17 months). Both my kids love the doctor and the nurses. Nurses are crazy fast with any vaccination shots (a huge plus with toddlers), and very caring. Dr. Clifford has been the PCP for both my kids and has always been great – through ear infections, chronic croup, and everyday care. She always listens to our concerns (even when we are at times worrying for no good reason), and takes the time to talk to us – even staying well past closing hours recently to see our son (who, as it turned out, had an ear infection to go with his 102 temp). I’ve used the off hours hotline several times, too, with good results.
I have never once doubted our decision to take our kids here and would recommend to other parents without hesitation.

Dr. Clifford needs to be seriously reprimanded by a supervisor. She is incredibly patronizing, condescending, acts as if she knows everything and makes you feel like a horrible parent. For my son who is small for his age, she told me this is on the verge of an emergency and needs to be taken seriously. I smile when I get nervous, she told me its not funny, I said Im not laughing, Im just agreeing with you. I tried to drop that I am highly educated as well, studying at Harvard, thinking she would treat me better, but it never happened. She threatened one time to call social services on me because I missed a yearly check up for my youngest. I called and said Im out of state and she is being seen by my mother, also a pediatrician! She didnt care, the office proceeded to send me a certified letter that I better show up or they will «report» me. I truly think she is racist, because she really treated me like I was an uneducated ethnic idiot. She asked me what activities my son was involved in, I said he’ll be signing up for some. The school year hadn’t started yet! She asked 3 more times after that, basically pushing me to say what he would be doing, as if to say I’m not doing anything for them. I took her crap for 3 years with my 3 kids and if I can tell anyone or help anyone, please, PLEASE stay away from her. I have experience with one other doctor here, Dr. Locke and she is very, very nice and wonderful bedside manners. But if you are not guaranteed to get her everytime, then don’t bother. The way Dr. Clifford talked about my son, when he was in the room!, is disgraceful. He always left feeling sad and trying to eat more, scared that Dr. Clifford would get mad at me, as he would see me on the brink of tears while she would talk to me. My kids go to a new doctor, and she is wonderful. I can’t believe what a difference a nice person makes! Stay away from Dr. Clifford, she comes in the room smiling and acting all sweet then becomes mean and rude. The best thing about this office was her nurse. Her nurse is kind, sweet and loving in every way.

Awful in every way. The only doctor worth seeing here is Dr. Locke, and even though we love her I’m switching to Mystic Valley Peds because the office staff and the wait times are so terrible. The male doctor here is condescending and makes feel uncomfortable. As a parent we need to feel supported and encouraged. Not something I ever got from this place.

This practice is awful — Drs. are old and rude and seriously have no clue on how to treat children. We took our children here for a few years then switched to another practice. They were not receiving the care they needed. One time, a Dr. had the gall to tell us to go to Children’s Hospital in Boston to treat an ear infection! She could not see in my daughter’s ear canal and her shaky hand kept forcing the otoscope deeper into her canal while she was screaming in pain! She was 8 months at the time. Would not recommend this practice.

My daughter is 14 months old and I’m afrad we are switching practices. Let me start by saying the one star is for the nurses. They are excellent. The Dr we chose however as stated in earlier review belittlelled oyr little ones problems. My husband always goes to her exams and the Dr has no patients for his questions. The front desk are rude And I feel like an inconvenience every time I call. And lastly I have to say I have had not one but two instances we’re I needed to speak with a Dr right away and there answering service never picked up. It just kept ringing forcing me to take my little one to the er instead. I would not recommend this practice to anyone.
