This place is great. I think I’ve had just about every technician there, and I haven’t once had a bad experience. Everyone does a flawless job! Good prices too. :)

I agree with all the other positive reviews! I’ve been going to this very clean, comfortable and accommodatingn nail salon for a few years now, typically every few months and never disappointed. Great pedicures with Wendy, and shellac manicures. Lately I’ve switched to regular manicures to help my nails. No complaints!

Took me right in for an on the spot pedi before a long weekend — wonderful service, staff, and color choices! One of the staff noticed my color was a little faded from the bottle being kept in a display in the sun and she got a brand new one for me. Will be back!

I was there for three times and each time it was a disaster with shellac. I was still coming back remembering all those great reviews, but today it was the last straw. The ladies are nice, but why don’t they know, that shellac shouldn’t touch the cuticle!!!

If you like not getting what you ask for and paying higher than normal prices to be utterly disappointed, than this is the place for you. Let’s start with the pedi. Average at most. I wanted a simple French tip, the girl started using silver paint that I chose for my nails, honest mistake I guess. Fortunately for me I caught her before she could get past toe #2. So it was ok. Now for my hands. I asked for a full set, she convinced me to not do tip, and even when I mentioned they were very short, she continued on as if she didn’t hear me, and cut me several times through the process. Then I asked for magenta colored French and a hibiscus-​like flower design in silver on my ring finger. The lady doing my hands clearly has never done French before. The tips are fat, messy and super uneven. She tried to leave color near my cuticles, it took me four times to tell her to clean it and the «flower» resembles some pathetic excuse for the only line design she probably knew how to do… I’m absolutely appauled that I had to pay $ 70+ for these atrocious looking nails. the sad part was all the really good reviews I saw, who are these blind women? Terrible, I wish I could give negative stars.

I have been going to Angel for several years now. They are so friendly and accommodating. I try and be respectful of their schedules but if I’m running late or didn’t make an appointment they always get me in, and always make sure it’s with my girl Katie if she’s there. Katie takes her time and has my shape and length memorized. If Katie isn’t available they usually have Wan see me and she is also excellent! Kathy seems to be the manager or owner and she always comes over to say hi (remembers me by name) and comments on my color, what I’m wearing or how long my nails have gotten. They are also one of the cleanest salons I have ever been to. They put plastic liners in their pedicure tubs, only use new files and will pull the tools out of the plastic before using them.
If you are looking to grow out your nails Angel can help you. About 2 years ago I started with acrylic, I was completely new to it and since then I have seen how bad acrylics can be (thick, uneven, yuck!) and didn’t realize how lucky I was. Kathy and Wan do the acrylics. Once my nails grew out under the acrylic I switched to shellac and they are always beautiful! I also can’t get enough of their pedicures. I have strayed from time to time and I always regret it, it’s never as good as angel!

I recently moved to the area and after a bad experience at another salon decided to give this one a try. They were professional, friendly and delivered a great manicure. The technician took her time and made sure to fulfill all of my requests.
Small but perfect.

I went this place on a Sunday because my normal nail salon was closed and I was in need of a gel mani/​pedi on my only free day for weeks. I am very sorry I came in.
The gel pedicure that was decent, but nothing to write home about.
The gel manicure, however, was not enjoyable. The girl doing my nails was filing and scraping my existing gel off my nails with her own fingernails (gross). She did not speak or even try to engage in conversation with me. I tried starting a conversation with her, but to no avail. 4 days later, 4 of my nails were chipped and noticeably peeled. I called to let them know and asked about coming back in to get them fixed because gels are supposed to last weeks never mind only several days. The woman on the phone said to come in the following day for a polish change and that they would do it for no charge.
I showed up on time the next day, and said I was there for my appt and showed them that my nails were chipped (by now 8 out of 10 nails were peeled/​chipped). I gave them the benefit of the doubt because maybe I picked a color that was never used, or it was a fluke OPI failure. Either way, I was told to pick out another color and they would be with me shortly. Then two women were speaking in another language obviously talking about my nails and whether to charge me. Finally, the owner then said that they would charge for a polish change. I explained that within 7 days of receiving a gel manicure 8 out of 10 nails were visibly peeling and chipped and that I was not going to pay for them because I paid $ 70+ a hefty tip for something that was supposed to last a LOT longer than a few days. She continued to say that I had to pick another color then or pay for it. So I said fine, no issues with picking the same color, but her staff told me to pick out another color and that it was a polish change. I said just remove the gel and I’d be on my way, but I wasn’t paying for a polish change — so please remove the crappy gel mani or redo what I originally paid for.
Then the woman who originally told me to pick a color started in on the aggressive filing and scraping of what was left of my gel mani (using her own fingernails to scrape of gel instead of tools/​drill). I left another hefty tip and couldn’t get out of there fast enough. Never.going.back.
2 stars because the gel pedicure wasn’t a total disaster.

Affordable, good pedicures. Not as good as some but definitely not the worst (annas is the worst by far) not to expensive but not conveniently located.

I live very close by and this is just one of the reasons why I come to this place every two weeks. I do manicure/​pedicure, dont usually need to make an appointment. and there’s never a lot of wait. They’re very good at what they do!

Came as a walk in on a pretty busy Sunday, got a gel/​shellac manicure and only had to wait about 10 minutes.
Everyone was friendly and the manicure was great!

I went in for a pedi and eyebrows. Was told the eyebrow girl wasn’t working today. Got a decent pedi but not the best Ive had in the area. The clientele as well as the staff were all a bit older, so a different atmosphere. More expensive than my regular pedi, which I think I’ll just stick to. Nothing terrible but nothing great.

Best place in the area and such reasonable prices, can’t find a better salon! Service is always great as well !

I went to Angel Nails for the first time about one month ago for a gel manicure because of the excellent reviews on Unilocal!I loved the service, and my manicure lasted over 3 weeks! I went to another local place (closer to my house) and I was dissatisfied. I went back last night for another manicure, and they were once again excellent. The place is always immaculate. The owner remembered me, and was happy to see me. Amy did my nails, and she was funny and very nice. I walked in around 6:30, and they took me without hesitation (duh for not checking their hours in advance). I will definitely return there in 2 weeks when I am due for another manicure!

I was in the area with some time to kill and found this place on Unilocal.Boy was I glad I did. I got a shellac manicure and my nail tech. Was beyond fantastic. Her attention to detail was astounding. I can’t attest for how long it lasts yet, but when I get to that point, I’ll fill you all in.
I highly recommend this place.

They give the best no chip manicures! Last longer than two weeks and look great! Very clean and always welcoming. I moved to Chicago and every month that I come back to Melrose I go ad get my nails done!

I love Oan (I apologize for spelling but it is pronounced as «One»)! I moved to the northshore about a yr and a half ago and had tried so many places for my acrylic nails and was so dissatisfied I took them off after having them for 10 yrs! Since this past summer I had been doing the shellac at random places which I just was not happy with. So, I decided to give this place a shot. I am very happy I ended up trying this place on a whim. My nails look perfect! Just like how I use to get them done before. I will definately be here every 2 weeks from now on for a refill! The place itself is cute but little small. Not too modern but cozy and comfy. The whole staff was extremely polite and friendly. Thank you!

I just came in for a walk in and I’m very impressed by Angel Nail Salon.
First thing I noticed was that it’s a little place in Melrose on Main Street. It’s very accessible with convenient lot parking.
I went in for a «classic» (regular) mani/​pedi. This is the first time that I have seen anyone had lined the foot tub with plastic, for extra sanitary reasons. The place is very clean. And, the two ladies were very accommodating.
I wish that I knew who had done my nails, but she was very intricate with her work. She never rushed through her work.
All I cannot emphasize enough about how truly relaxed I was. All I can remember was that, while flipping through a magazine and getting my toes done, I could not control my fingers, attempting to turn the page.
It was an amazing feeling.
One thing to consider — You save $ 1 by choosing the mani/​pedi vs. al la carte. $ 38, instead of $ 39. I mean, they could do better.
Overall, it was a great place to spend time on my day off. Thumbs up for these two gals. I’m definitely returning to this salon!

I have tried a few other places in Melrose, but stopped searching after finding Angel Nails. I will echo the other reviewers in that this place is CLEAN. Fantastic! This is the first place I’ve ever been to that has single-​use plastic liners for the pedicure basins — so cool and so sterile, I love it!
Every pedicure I’ve received here has lasted at least 2 weeks before starting to look a little tired. I’ve never tried a manicure with polish, but they did a great job shaping my nails and cleaning up the cuticle on my neglected fingernails.
I even trust them so much that I went the day before my recent wedding with my sister to get our «wedding» nails done. I had thought about going in to Boston to get my nails done at a fancy spa, but Angel Nails does such a great job that I thought, «Why bother!» My sis also got her eyebrows waxed that day and was very happy with the results.
If you’re looking for a place in Melrose, you’ve found it!
