Like Dr Schurgin Good Dr. The secretary not so good. Imagine having to wait 9 weeks for glasses? That’s because the the girl that does the billing was on vacation so I was told five weeks that was turning into nine weeks. Then I cancel the order and yes I am still waiting for my refund on my credit card. Real nightmare. The girl does not have a clue. Never, never again. Total nightmare. Dr Schurgin is a very good eye Dr. I will miss him but not all the nonsense I actually had to file a dispute with them

This is an update to just note that Dr. Schurgin did call me in the evening on the day of my appointment. I was busy and didn’t answer and he left a message explaining that he was sorry and that the people he had been talking to were folks he hadn’t seen since high school and he wanted to catch up to them. He said that if I were to reschedule, he’d make sure to see me right away. I do appreciate the call and the apology. But I did not call back to try to get another appointment with him. If I had to guess, he only called because his assistant urged him to since she seemed to understand how rude he had been when she gave me back my paperwork and apologized for him. I didn’t put this in my initial review because I didn’t want to make this mostly about my race, but I think that when he looked out at the waiting area and saw me, a young black woman, my race was a factor in his decision to keep talking to the old high school friends standing at his office door. Do I have proof of this? No. It’s a gut feeling and I’m going to go with it in relation to other overtly racist experiences I’ve had in MA and across the US throughout my entire life.

I’ve been coming here for years! Before this doctor the last eye dr I saw did not get my glasses, right– still couldn’t see. Dr. Shurgin knows his stuff! The staff is GREAT! Have so much fun with the girls picking out frames, they really give you an honest opinion. Everyone is so nice!

Loved the Doctor… the billing person is the rudest person I have ever dealt with. She kept changing her story on what the invoice was for. I don’t even know if it is a real bill. In addition, my husband was billed for glasses that he was told were free so he didn’t take the glasses… insurance was billed anyway. Hopefully it will reflect a credit immediately. I will never visit this business again… sad because I really liked Dr. Schurgin… Sorry Doctor Schurgin.
