Studio 786 Salon and Day Spa

Angela is an absolute angel. I was very unhappy with a cut and color that I paid exorbitantly for (in Boston) and called Studio 786. Angela encouraged me to come in on a moment’s notice so she could take a look and advise me. Never did she push me to spend money with her, but she talked to me about what would make things better and I trusted her, so I asked her to proceed with a cut and color. I was lucky enough to catch her in between appointments, and she squeezed me in based on what was convenient for me. I left feeling relieved and beautiful, thanks to Angela. Her staff is just as lovely — they brought me magazines and water, making sure I felt comfortable and confident that I wouldn’t have a repeat hair-​catastrophe. I highly recommend Studio 786!

For men’s hair styling, this is a really good place and I highly recommend it. I’m new to the area so I have gone to a few places in Melrose, but this has been my favorite so far. Roseann is awesome and everything about the place is really well done. 5 stars as far as I’m concerned

Dao is fantastic. So great at what she does. Very caring and meticulous. She does mani/​pedi to perfection. And the facials she gives are heavenly. Five stars to Dao.

They are so nice here. You feel welcome the moment you walk in. I had two services — eyebrow waxing/​shaping and pedicure. — I’ve have eyebrow/​lip waxing that was painful but not this time. Dao was so gentle and did a fabulous job. I definitely plan on seeing her again. Afterwards, I had a pedicure. Again, with Dao who was so gentle and made my toes/​feet look and feel fabulous. They offer wonderful services are very reasonable prices. I would highly recommend Studio 786.

Went yesterday for my first time. Had an eye brow wax with Dao. I must say it was the best eye brow wax I ever had. Dao takes her time making everything just perfect. She is amazing and I would highly recommend her.

After going to a salon earlier in the day who did a beyond subpar job on my hair — and being extremely upset — I found Studio 786 on where else but Unilocal!I called and spoke to Angela who told me to come right in and she’d put me in the capable hands of Allycia.
Allycia is AMAZING! She was a wizard with my hair and I feel so much better and my hair looks fabulous for my party tonight! Sweet, kind, professional and a natural born talent to work with hair — Allycia was the best. I highly recommend her and the staff at Studio 786!

I love Tara and Studio 786! They are so very nice on the phone when you call for an appointment. They are all smiles when you enter the salon. Tara is always super friendly and nice.
AND did I mention Tara is an excellent colorist? I went to her over a year ago with very damaged overly processed hair and she got me all turned around in no time at all. I won’t go to anyone else now!
Studio 786 gives you Newbury service with Melrose prices. And they do everything… hair, nails, waxing, massage, threading. I’ve only had my hair done here but I plan to get other services here soon.

I’ve been to others, but she is on the of her game when it comes to shaping and threading your eye brows, she is the best. Professional, pleasant and always on time. It’s always refreshing seeing her smile that is always welcoming. I would recommend her to all my friends.

Studio 786 is my go-​to place for threading. Humera does an excellent job every time. Also she provides a card which gets stamped with every visit, so the sixth visit is free! I’ve also gotten a mani-​pedi here before by Terry. She was very hospitable and did a great job. Overall a great one stop place !

I have been going to Angela for my hair for 16 years now, and I am constantly receiving compliments even from other hair professionals regarding the color and cut and what a Great job Angela does. I believe through the years, I have referred 12 people that still get their hair done from her (she’s that good!) I honestly have never written a review but can’t say enough good things about Angela and her staff. My daughters (now teenagers) love going to Angela’s daughter Roseanne — she is just as great. Eyebrow waxes by both are excellent. Mani/​pedi by Dao are the Most Relaxing and a wonderful way to spoil yourself — she is so pleasant and does a Perfect job!

OMG I had the best pedi and mani I have ever had. I am a perfectionist and do my nails myself. This was a gift so I went and will never do my own again. The womens name is Dao. She was so nice, funny and friendly. But best of all she too is a perfectionist. What a gift. I will never go to any other spa but this one. Fabulous. Oh and the spa is beautiful and very classy.

I came here for a 60 minute massage and 60 min. facial after buying a deal online (I think Living Social???). The deal also comes with a mani/​pedi but I was allowed to split the services and will have that done later.
Decided to indulge myself with the massage and facial the day before my birthday. Had only gotten one facial before years ago and never had a massage so I went in not really knowing what to expect.
I wish I could remember who performed the facial because she was fantastic. She listened to me go on about my skin and while she got to cleaning and prepping and whatnot, she helped give suggestions on products (not specific lines she was selling, just what type of ingredients to look for). She helped diagnose some of my shortcomings, but not in a patronizing way and was very informative with each step she took and helped describe what all she was doing.
It was a basic facial, nothing extra from what I can tell, but I was very much glowing for a week after!
The massage was great too… as a newbie, I probably should’ve said «no» to the scalp massage when it was offered as I did not think about it being done with the massage oils and it left my hair quite greasy for going out later…: (
But the overall experience was super relaxing and I definitely fell asleep… and not during a part I thought I would! I had extremely tight and sore calves from kick-​boxing but I was completely knocked out while she kneaded my legs!
I did find that I became very congested during the massage which she said happens after lying face-​down like you do the second half. But I was pretty stuffed up for a couple days so I don’t know if maybe one of the scents didn’t agree with me or if it was something else unrelated.
The staff overall were really nice and I look forward to going back for the nail part of the deal, and will more than likely return for a future facial!

Penny did my pedicure and I have to be honest… it was the best pedicure I’ve ever had in my life. EVER!!! She is amazing! From the outside, this place might not look like much but the inside is beautiful and clean and the people are warm and friendly. Make an appt. — you will not be sorry.

I went here with my GF as she was going for a full body massage. I am a big fan of lower leg and foot massages because I am on my feet a lot so I decided to get one. My therapist’s name was Penny and she was fantastic! I have to tell you when I first pulled up to this place it looked like a doctors office from the outside but the inside was very nice and modern. They have 2 rooms on the 1^st floor, to the left is where they do all the hair styling and to the right is where they do massage and foot treatments. This place is also very clean! My GF went for her massage upstairs then Penny came and brought me to the room on the right where she had the big pedicure chair set up already with hot water and soft music. I told Penny what I was looking for and that I didn’t really want a pedicure but more along the lines of a 30 min foot and leg massage. She said she would just do a very basic pedicure with scrub and clip and then would do the massage. Perfect! Penny took about 5 – 10 min on the pedicure portion then 30 min on the massage. She used just the right pressure (I like a solid strong massage, none of this fluffy stuff) on my legs.
My treatment was 35.00 plus tip, well worth every penny!

Three words: Full body massage!
I lucked out at this place by buying a massage during their «living social» promotion for half priced massages. I saved it for my birthday week to make it really special.
The salon is beautiful. An attractive brick building on the outside, then three floors of salon and spa to get you glowing from head to toe. The build out is very high end with new hardwoods, cool lighting and nice equipment. When I walked in all the people working there were super nice and even gave me a tour.
Cassie was my massage therapist. The room we used was very tranquil. Soft music, flowing water, soft candle light and a warm massage table. No clutter and impeccably clean. Before we started she sat down with me to go over my questionnaire and see if I had any specific areas of concern, then asked about what kind of pressure I was looking for.
The massage was wonderful. She spent time getting in spots and taking out knots. She started off with some neck work, then spent time all over, then finishing with my back. She didn’t talk unless it was asking me to move. I was completely relaxed and would recommend her services. It was the best massage I ever had.
While I was doing my massage my boyfriend tagged along for a mens pedicure I convinced him to book. He said it was the best foot treatment of his life. The woman doing it, Penny, really took her time and his feet looked like new when I saw them later in the day. He is not one to go for pedicures often but said he felt so comfortable he would go back frequently.
The downstairs has a nice manicure and pedicure area. I plan to come back and get one sometime as well as another massage. I’m so glad I found this place.
I highly recommend it to for salon and spa services or even to give someone an impressive gift certificate for the holidays, it would be a classy choice.
