Rude cashiers. Additionally, they call for a $ 5 minimum on purchases. After I made an entire lunch purchase, I went to buy a tea with my card. Manager refused. Poor customer service! As for the food, pretty normal deli. Nothing spectacular.

Updated review. I come here from time to time because I work in the area. There’s a lack of places to get food nearby so glad this place exists. I have to say they have some good stuff here, but some meals have been pretty disappointing. I get bagels from here sometimes and I have to say that they’re actually pretty good(I’ve had cinnamon raisin and egg bagels. Bagels w/butter are $ 2 and cream cheese is probably around like $ 2.50-$ 3ish.) Ok so for lunch… I highly recommend their ‘Newsday’ hero. This hero is actually pretty banging — it has like a bunch of cold cuts like ham, turkey, and roast beef if I remember correctly. Turns out to be pretty big and filling and I believe it’s about $ 8 if I remember correctly. In terms of hot food, I wish they had better vegetables here. It’s either steamed broccoli or frozen vegetables. Meatloaf, chicken parm, sausage and peppers, rice, mac and cheese are all mediocre. I feel like prices for hot food are little high — the container I have pictured here cost like $ 9.50ish or so. Should be closer to $ 8 total. I’ve also gotten a pre-packaged salad here and it was below-average. So in conclusion I’m really glad this place is here because there’s a lack of options in the area, but the food is the epitome of mediocrity.

Looks are deceiving here. Its a large deli with lots of seating and lots of dining options. However, this deli is no better than any bodega I’ve gotten a sandwich from. Ive been here twice. First visit i paid over $ 5 for a sausage egg and cheese on a roll(NO coffee). Second visit paid $ 9.25 for a chicken and cheese hero that was cold. Quality is average to below average and prices are on the expensive side. Nothing special here, so i won’t be returning.

Ordered a ‘Hot’ Pastrami sandwich for $ 7.95 that had about ¼ inch of COOL meat… and to add insult to injury, no pickle. ?! Am I unreasonable? As for my lunchmate, he ordered from the hot food(roast pork & veggies) and he was satisfied, but, found it disturbing they sliced the roast thin as for a sandwich-?

The neighborhoods go to spot for breakfast and lunch. Whenever I get tired of my cafeteria food at work, I come here. The food selection is much better than what I have at work so I frequent this spot often. A meal here will cost you under $ 10 l. I usually opt for the hot plates as the sandwich line takes forever during lunch time. However, when there isn’t a line. the sandwiches are pretty good. I recommend the LA times or the esquire. Oh yeah — try out their homemade lemonade too! There’s always ample seating whenever I come here even when I have 4−5+ people with me.

Great place to come in for lunch. Place has a great design to it and plenty of different things to try out. Usually go in and get a sandwich from the deli but they also have pizza best thing that it is made to order and most product is boar head

Great deli in the Melville business area. I’ve ordered from them plenty via delivery but this is my first time in person. Delivery is great… quick and accurate btw! Great selection of food and spacious interior. Plenty of seating. Pizza and hot food section with rotating specials and then a deli counter. Super friendly service. You can tell this establishment is kept very clean and they care about their customer service. Prices are fair to the standards of competitors and the food is delicious! Pizza here is as good if not better than regular pizza places in the area, so don’t be afraid to try it just because this is a deli. Will be a repeat customer for sure!

Great sandwiches, well priced. Also decent selection of hot foods/pizza. My favorite is the sports illustrated. Chicken, fresh mozz, red onions, roasted peppers and a pesto sauce on a hero really good for lunch

I heard the original owners were back, so I decided to give it ago again. And I’m glad I did! I listed some quick points: FOOD: I got a typical sandwich– turkey, cheese, lettuce, tomato and mustard. My sandwich was made quick and tasty. My boyfriend got a chicken caesar salad and loved the dressing. LINES: Don’t be discouraged by the lines! I found out there are two separate ones: one for the hot food(pizza, pasta, warm paninis) and one for the deli. The people on line were pretty nice too haha. There were a bunch of people working at each station and three people on the registers at the front. It was easy to get food and check out. STAFF: Very friendly. I forgot to grab Caesar dressing for my boyfriend’s salad and they reminded to get some lol PRICES: Reasonable. My sandwich was $ 7.25 and I think the salad was the same too. OVERALL: News Stand is perfect for a quick(and tasty) lunch. I suggest it.

I will not even review the food at News Stand. I am instead posting a warning… BEADVISEDTHATTHISDELISENDSOUTYOURCREDITCARDINFOWITHTHEDELIVERYDRIVERS. This info includes your exp date and security code. When asked the owner, Warren, acknowledges this practice and arrogantly justifies it. If you do business at this deli I hope you have Life Lock

An unimpressive hot lunch selection. The vegetables and rice are from Costco and are marked up significantly. The grilled chicken is juicy. Altogether you can pick up a hot lunch for under $ 10. The deli has a much larger selection, and the prices for the sandwiches seemed like a much better value.

My coworkers and myself always order from this deli, we all love the fresh chicken salad but today I asked for a especial request, I was craving a chicken cutlet hero with bacon, melted mozzarella, mayo and cole slaw Yeah call me crazy but that was my craving and they made it even though they didn’t put enough cole slaw only like a teaspoon on the whole hero but I can taste it a little bit and is so yummy!!!

Above average deli with decent prices and sandwiches. As you can tell by the name– News Stand Deli is a newspaper themed eatery. They have newspapers framed and even have sandwiches named after some of the more popular publications. They do have pizza and salads but I prefer the hot sandwiches. My favorite sandwich is the«boston globe» which is chicken with melted cheese, bacon and mayo. It tickles my heart everytime I eat it(could be the cholesterol). The workers can be a little disheveled and the chairs and tables could use some updating… but all in all its pretty good.

For $ 4.33 I got an omelette with American cheese and bacon, a side of white bread, and home fries. Very large interior with lots of options for food. Sandwiches, salads, breakfast items, burgers, pizza and pasta salads, etc. My food was pretty good, could have benefited from less cheese but I could have ordered something different. Home fries were good. Enjoyed having the place so quiet in the morning. Cool decorating inside, newspaper theme.

News Stand is a great deli. We work on 110 and have been going since it opened. Many of the same people have been working there for over a decade. The food is good and the portions are generous. I do see a lot of 2&3 star reviews from people who like it but have found small negatives(yes, the deli is cold in the winter!). But let’s face it, it is a DELI, not a restaurant, and as far as a deli goes, it is one of the best. My favorites? Eggs over medium with turkey on an onion roll(my own spin on the egg sandwich, they have great soft onion rolls) and the«Sports Illustrated» for lunch — Grilled chicken, fresh mozzarella, roasted peppers, onion with a pesto & mayo sauce on a hero — for $ 6.99.

A good spot for breakfast or lunch. New Stand has a HUGE selection to choose from: Salads to prepared meals to pizza. All good and satisfying. I especially enjoyed the fried fish sandwich that was cooked to a golden brown had a crunchy coating and nice flakey fish. I also enjoy their meat loaf sandwich which was a couple of thick slices of meat loaf on a roll with some gravy,(some gravy… not too much so the whole sandwich falls apart in in your hand.) The tuna and chicken salad were tasty and not loaded with mayonnaise. Plenty of coolers with different soft drinks as well as coffee, tea, etc… Be prepared to wait a few minutes if you come during a busy period. They have some outside seating and plenty of large tables that you can use when you meet your friends.

I really love this place. The food is fabulous, the seating is plentiful. You just need to get there at the right time to miss the rush. The system to place an order(randomly shout out) wait for food(same crowd as ordering crowd) and pay(1 or 2 registers at the end) is far from efficient but hey, it’s all part of what makes News Stand, News Stand. Pizza’s, although they look delicious, are just«Eh» Hot sandwiches are Great! Try the Reuben’s Brother, Mmm! Pasta’s are heavy. Salads are ok. Great place to meet up with friends and have a quick lunch.

A coworker/friend recently suggested we go to News Stand Deli for lunch. We were sick of our«usual» spots so we decided to give this place a try. I first hopped on Unilocal to check out the reviews and was a bit afraid of the line, since that seemed to receive the most complaints. I shrugged that off and decided hey, let’s see if this place is worth adding to the lunch rotation. First off, this place has a HUGE parking lot. This is great for lunch hours when so many businesses are in the area. The inside is also relatively large and full of places to sit. The line was a bit confusing, yes. There is one line for hot food/pizza and another line for deli/breakfast. They kind of merged into one at some point. I finally decided on checking out the deli section. I waited on line for about 5 minutes(not long at all compared to other places in the area). I placed my order and my sandwich was ready within a minute, no joke. These guys don’t mess around. They know you’re on lunch and they get your food ready quick. The line to pay was a little longer but everyone was playing with plastic and I only noticed one credit card machine so that’s understandable. I picked up my drink while waiting, and when they finally did take me, everything went relatively quick, as well. There wasn’t an issue with finding a place to sit. There are TVs around the seated area. Everything is kept clean. My sandwich was great. They use quality products, which is nice compared to other delis around here. Be careful of the step at the main entrance.

I used to come here on occasion when I worked out here, and came here yesterday to meet up with some old coworkers for lunch. Besides the slight chances in menu, the place is exactly how I left it — predictable, cold, and grubby cash registers. I ended up with the chicken club wrap from the deli, and it was PACKED to the balls!(meatballs I mean of course!) It had bacon, chicken, lettuce, tomato, Russian dressing(a weakness… the dressing, not the women) all in a tomato and spinach pita wrap. He wrapped it up like a football and wrote $ 6.29 in marker. Really? How the heck did you figure out the tax?! With a Brisk iced tea — a whopping $ 9.54! DAMMNNN! I ate the whole thing in an hour sitting, and my friend wasn’t too thrilled her tuna salad tasted tinny — like from a tin can. My other friend got the buffalo chicken pizza slice that was sooo saucey, it covered my face in one bite. It was more sauce than actual chicken; not cool. There’s better places to go than here, but it’s an okay place to go to once every 2 weeks; once a week is pushing the boredom.
