Ultimately the end result of the work performed was very good. The annoyance was I had to research the part numbers for my repair because the bumper was an aftermarket item put on by the previous owner.
I go to a professional so THEY can determine what needs to be done, verify proper product codes and then efficiently execute the work. If I have to ask questions to provoke thought and then do most of the research myself, then I’m not dealing with a pro… just a laborer.
According to Unilocal’s descriptions for stars, 2 stars =“Meh, I’ve experienced better”. If I had no other choice for a body shop… I’d be OK with taking my car back to Apex. Since there are MANY options in Memphis… I’m searching elsewhere.

I’ve taken two vehicles to them and been disappointed each time. The last vehicle was the worst.
Clips were broken on an internal panel, so my car had new rattles, it wasn’t properly wet sanded, there was dirt in the paint, the tape lines were messy… FINALLY got it out of their shop, and paid my deductible, drove off, and my rear windshield wiper fell off.
The whole process took well over a month, partly due to ordering parts for the wrong car, and I rarely received a phone call to update the progress. I went back to have the rattle fixed, unsuccessfully, but I had already spent too much time on the problem to wait weeks longer (without my only car) for them to repaint it.
They’re perfectly professional and friendly in person, and they say all the right things, but the service doesn’t match the image they try to present.
I’m sure Rob means for the best, I don’t get the impression he’s anything but genuine. It’s not enough.

My insurance company, State Farm, recommended this body shop after someone hit my Highlander’s rear bumper. I left the SUV there and then flew to Vegas for a convention. On my return I was very pleased that the bumper looked factory new and did not need replacement. The man who hit me paid by credit card over the phone so his insurance would not be impacted. Rob Taylor and his team are wonderful! They offer as long as you own the car warranty on body repairs and have been in business for many years.
They are located in a marginalized industrial zone and have high voltage electrical and razor wires and security protecting the cars in the back of the building.
Rob said he is taking his truck to Enfield’s for detailing after he recommended them for scratches on our Camry. Check my Enfield’s review for more info!
