Wow one teller on a Friday this is ridiculous. Bank of America is definitely not about customer service at all!!! Your one of the biggest banks and you can’t afford to properly staff your banks.

I just opened an account today at Bank of America. It is a beautiful location. Grace Woo was extremely welcoming and pleasant. She helped me with all my needs and was great to speak with. The location is not ideal in that intersection but the people are great. The nice thing is there are a big number of locations throughout Memphis. I definitely will do more business here down the road.

I hate banks. I hate banks a whole lot. To a point, I didn’t have a bank account for a few years. Don’t worry, I still paid my taxes and all of that fun stuff. But since I moved, I needed to get one. And how ironic, with the bank that I had the most beef with– BoA. I could go on a rant all day about the actual company, but I just want to rant about this particular branch. First of all, when traveling west on Winchester, you have to turn left on Hacks, then another left, and then a few more lefts. Shit! I think I would be better off walking! Some days traffic at that intersection is so bad that when I leave, I actually backtrack as it can actually be quicker. I also hate it that 5⁄6 times I have came for the ATM, the lines are either wrapped around the building, or the actual machines are not working. In terms of going inside, I went in on Saturday, as I needed a money order so I could get my passport renewed(haven’t ordered any checks yet). I figured it would be an easy swipe of the debit card, and boom. Well, I waited in line for about 10 minutes, as there were 3 tellers. That was ok, I figured on a Saturday, it would be like that– I just needed that money order. So it is my turn, and then the teller I go to tells me he doesn’t do money orders, only the people next to him. What a rook! So I had to wait longer. So finally, as I just wait in line letting everyone go in front of me waiting for a qualified person to give me a GD money order, the time arrives. So I tell her the amount, she tells me to swipe my card– so I did. And she gives me a receipt with my balance. Then she tells me it’s a $ 5 fee for money orders! I remember back in the day BoA members didn’t have to pay the fees! I hope that money order had the tellers number on it(oh yea, it did NOT!) for that much! So then I had to get another receipt, saying they swiped $ 5 from me. I mean she nice about it, I just couldn’t believe it. I guess what I am trying to say is, bring deep pockets and patience, or you will end up like the crazy old lady in front of me in line who reeked of vodka and kept trying to crack jokes in line!

Avoid the teller drive-through at Bank of America!!! I was defrauded of $ 100 during my last visit. I had requested for a $ 40 withdrawal through the drive-through and the crook of a teller added a ‘1’ in front of my ‘40’ on the withdrawal slip and pocketed the $ 100. When I contacted the bank, their response was very apathetic. Although it was very clear that the ‘1’ was not my writing, they would not budge! Its a pity that such a big bank would have petty thiefs as tellers and would try to cover this up! What a shame!
