Design Jewelers

I took a diamond tennis bracelet to Design Jewelers in 2006 that my grandmother had left me in here will. I needed some links taken out. I had them take 5 links out and mount the 5 diamonds on a cross for my daughter. When I returned to pickup the bracelet and cross, i asked for my 5 gold links back. The man working there went to the back, scrambled around and came back with a ziplock bag of misc gold pieces clearly from something else! I asked «Where are my gold links? This looks like stuff from something/​someone else!» He replied «Oh I must’ve melted them down.» What??? Who does this!!! I was shocked!!! I became so upset I was speakless! He offered to take a whopping $ 25.00 off my bill after I told him I didn’t want the gold pieces from someone/​something else! I left the store crying that day! He seemed unphased by this which tells me this is the norm for them. I tell this story to everyone I know because I don’t want it to happen to them. I honestly can not believe they are still in business!!! Please don’t take anything there!!!
