Been here since Monday. The staff and the food is barnone heads-n-shoulders above the other Homewoods across the land. When you’re away from home this is truly appreciated. Never again. I’ve stayed in many different Hilton properties all over the country, including other Homewood Suites. We called during our drive in to ask for a pack and play/crib for our room. After successfully navigating the hold menu to talk to an actual front desk person, someone told my wife that they«would enter our request.» We check in, no pack and play. I go to the front desk — «we don’t offer that here.»(For the record, this is the first time I’ve ever been told that.) I guess we’ll just find our own. They offer basketball as amenity — which is fantastic. Until it’s 10PM and your toddler is sleeping and there’s a basketball game going on outside your window. If only there was a way to know that we had a toddler that might be awakened — like if we called and asked for a pack and play, then maybe we would have been placed in a room not immediately next to the basketball court. This is the first Hilton property I’ve ever stayed at that I’ve vowed I’ll never return to. Wildly disappointing.

Have been here recently and stayed with the family. What a place. This is much better than Marriott residence inn… Seriously, if you are staying with the family yes it is the best in around German town in Memphis. There are variety of breakfast they serve everyday and the best part is both dinner and breakfast are complimentary. They clean and make up the rooms everyday. Each floor has a laundry and you almost feel at home, this place at the wolf river blvd is so conveniently located and accessible to most places around Memphis. We loved staying here, thanks to the stay and the hotel our two year olds have learned a new word HOTEL! We are sure to stay here whenever we visit Memphis…

We just left the Homewood Suites/Germantown after spending 3 nights there. To make a very long story short– there was a problem with the reservation due to booking thru a third party. This was a problem caused by the hotel and the third party. I had ZERO knowledge of the issue until we cked in. After it was explained I was told the hotel would address with the third party. However, that later changed when we had a very ugly and unnecessary confrontation at the front desk. There had been no follow up by the hotel and they tried then to make it my problem. Looking to me to fix something I had no knowledge of and no way to fix. After almost 45 horrific minutes at the desk(no manager was at the hotel). They decided to correct it and let me go. I felt like a criminal or like I was in the wrong. I have never been treated so poorly by any company. The manager did call me from his vacation and state it was 100 percent their problem. We were offered a free night at any hotel in the chain on a future visit. Really? Too little too late. On the hotel itself– is was ok but there are nicer ones in the area. Go to one of them!

I traveled to Germantown for work this week and they had me staying at this Homewood Suites. The facility is nice and the staff all seemed super helpful especially Sonja and Lisa at the Front Desk. Those ladies are my new Tennessee Homies. While the staff was nice, some didn’t seem very bright. I asked one of the hostesses who was serving the dinner what places she would recommended for Steak or Pasta that were unique to the area and I couldn’t get back home. Her answers; Outback and Olive Garden in the most serious tone. I just looked at her and shook my head while walking away. The rooms are nice and have the feel of a small apartment so it is kind of like a home away from home. There is a cozy living room, a small kitchen with a two burner stove and full size fridge, a standard bathroom and then the bedroom area itself. I only have two small complaints though. The first is that they need to have more easily accessible outlets in the bedroom for charging phones or plugging in laptops. All of the outlets are behind the bed and are a pain to get to. I have been to some hotels where there is a built in power strip on the nightstand and I really wish they had those. I don’t trust the alarm clocks they offer so I like to have my phone charging and sitting on the night stand and have that act as my alarm clock. Second was the fridge. While I was stoked to see a full size fridge it never got cold even when I turned it to its coldest setting. I bought some Gatorade’s and they only got to just above room temperature. Granted I was only there for three nights, but it should have gotten cold after the first night. The continental breakfast was average — nothing fancy. They also offered dinner during the weeknights which wasn’t all that special. It was a quick alternative if you couldn’t go out, but the options were simple at best. One night was salad, that’s it, and the other was tiny little chicken patties that you could put on buns. I ate out most nights as I was in the Greater Memphis area and there was no way I could pass up some good barbecue. It was a little pricier than I would typically pay for a room, but as my work was paying for it I didn’t mind. All and all it was a good experience and I would be happy to stay there if I ever get the opportunity to travel for work again.

I’m very pleased to report the the hotel manager Lisa phoned me this evening. She was happy to adjust our rate and issued a credit on the Amex card. That is terrific customer service.

After reading the other reviews, I thought this place was going to be nice. I am sure a few years ago when the reviews were written it was a beautiful place. However, things have slightly changed. 1. Sheets, bed spread, and hair dryer bag were all torn. There were holes in the sheets. 2. No pack n play ready for my daughter. I called 2 times to verify that we would be getting a pack in play. Twice I was told we would be. Then, when I checked in I confirmed we were getting a pack n play. The attendant at the desk said that the cleaning staff should have brought one into the room that morning. When I opened the door to the room. There was no pack n play available. I finally got one from the staff. However, it was 9:30 est and my kids needed to go to bed. 3. Poor lighting. The lighting throughout the hotel was outdated and very dimly lit. The light to the bathroom flickered before it turned on it took at least 15 seconds before the lights turned on. 4. Rough covers. The duvet cover was textured and was super uncomfortable. 5. Access to side door. The side door entrance had to be pushed in and then pushed out to open. 6. Knowledge of staff. When given my room number. The attendant said to park on the side because it was closer to our room. When we got to our room the room was right next to the back door. Which this doesn’t seem like a big deal but when you have to lug a car seat with an infant, a toddler, and our bags every bit of accuracy counts. 7. Toilet had permanent poop marks on it. Need I say more about that. Staff appeared friendly but that wasn’t enough to make me like the place.

The place was nice, clean, friendly and area of town is nice, but the smoke smell in our 2 non-smoking rooms was overpowering. Luckily, the weather was nice enough to be able to keep the windows open, but even with that, we all were congested, etc next morning.

We have been here since April 1st and have been very happy with our stay. They have a clean, well run facility with friendly staff. We received a discounted rate of $ 79 per night. The cat cost only $ 50 for the length of our visit. She normally costs up to $ 20 a day for boarding alone. The suite is well furnished with a desk/dining table, chairs, sofa, ottoman, chair, side table, dresser and television in the living room, and bed, dresser, television and two side tables in the bedroom. There are two closets which helps if two people are sharing the space. Many hotels have less than two feet of closet space. There is a microwave, refrigerator and two electric burners. Free breakfast every day and dinner Monday through Thursday is a great savings for long term guests. I don’t usually have access to a car so my meals are either microwaved or downstairs… or the nearby Perkins. There is a pool which is currently covered and an office area downstairs. Maid service is daily. I deducted one point because there is only one washer and dryer per floor. I need at least two so I have to use them on the 2nd and 3rd floors which are not above each other but down 3 long hallways. I would take clothes to a professional laundry — but I have no car. Wi-Fi is free!
