Yum-o city! Casual space, friendly sevice and awesome food. I’ll be dreaming about the ribs for years to come.

Smoked sausage was good. Onion rings were passable. Pork was literally swimming in sauce. Would not return.

Had to try out talk of the town… I went for dinner and ordered the Sampler plate. I was disappointed in the meal. The ribs and brisket had that day old taste. Like it has been in the warmer for many hours. It may be better at the lunch rush? But my first experience was not a good one.

Worst bbq & certainly the worst service of all the Memphis bbq restaurants. We arrive & request a table for 9. The place is damn near empty @ lunch time(sign #1). Hostess tells us nothing available unless we pull tables together. We say ok, no problem. Start pulling tables together ourselves & then a rude manager comes out to tell us put tables back. We explained her hostess gave us the direction. We should’ve walked out then with another clear sign of what to come. Pressed for time we sat down & placed orders. Famous bbq tasted old & sides tasted like microwaved dinners. 2 of our guests didn’t get orders until 20 minutes after the rest. Don’t waist your time wt mediocre bbq & rude service with TOPS& Memphis BBQ not far down the road.

Came to Memphis to eat good BBQ& this was our 3rdBBQ restaurant in 2 days! We were looking forward to more good BBQ but were disappointed. The neighborhood is run down & we drove by a house with 5 police cars just 1 block from the restaurant but that didn’t stop us! As my sister & I walked through the door, the picture & description of the lunch special was on display. We were hooked! It read«Jumbo Grilled BBQ Chicken Sandwich topped with Coleslaw» Since the picture showed such a huge sandwich, we decided to split it. What we shared wasn’t anything like the picture. It was a small smashed bun with a flattened, dried out chicken. We couldn’t tell if it was white or dark meat. We were afraid to complain to the waitress because she wasn’t friendly from the time we walked in. We thought she might be having a bad day so we did leave her a 20% tip with the hopes it would brighten her day. We won’t being going back for a 2nd chance.

Amazing Bbq and some really fun servers. But even without a superstar server the food stands out. I highly recommend and it’s close to the Memphis airport too.

Awful ! I do not understand any of the good reviews and agree with all the bad ones. We came to Memphis to try the famous bbq and felt we were served food out of the dumpster. DRY, bland, yucky food. Service the worst ever. Horrible sums it up.

DONOTCOMEHERE! I ordered the combo plate with ribs and«brisket» with beans and potato salad. The«brisket» looks like a frozen pack of steakums. The manager comes out and does not apologize and rudely asked me what I wanted him to do. I am big on customer service and this establishment needs to take a MAGIC training course because they haven’t a clue what it is to provide a quality product with exceptional customer service. I wish that the bbq was up to par because I had been waiting to get to Memphis so that I could stop for some bbq at a Neely restaurant. Considering the fact that I had to give a star I would allocate that 1 star to the baked means and water b/c that’s the best thing in this place. :(

Awesome wait staff. Had the chicken breast, which was great. Interesting atmosphere. Good beer. But the prices are just outrageous for the small amount of food.

I know it sounds crazy — but try the bbq spaghetti… It is amazing. A friend and I split the sampler and the pulled park was 2nd place — pork ribs — 3rd. Worth the stop!!!

This is one of my favorite places to get a barbecue sandwich. I am tempted to say this is my favorite barbecue sandwich. What makes it so great is the tang of the barbecue sauce company with the coleslaw makes this a perfect match with the barbecue. I will say that it does take a minute to get food sometimes but it is worth it. I also love the rib tips here.

Decent BBQ. More of a spicy sauce than sweet. If you want to try a Neely’s this is the one to try. Most of the others seem to come and go but this one has been going strong for a long time. The spaghetti side is good. They do an old school bologna sammy also.

Best ribs in Memphis! If it’s true authentic fall of the bones, tender pork ribs with zesty sauce you are looking for then this is your place. Large servings with delicious beans, slaw, or fries that will fill you up are included with your order. Our family ate here and at the very over rated and tourist trap Rendevous this past weekend and there is no comparison in quality of food or service. You get so much more at Interstate and they truly appreciate their customers. The other place is just a museum of memorabilia and overpriced food.

There’s decent quality here. The greens were awe-ite. The dry ribs were good. The pulled pork tasted good but tasted as if they had been sitting around for an hour. To the staff here, don’t serve pulled pork and have it tastin’ luke warm. That’s an insult to your customers. Had it been at least warm, this place gets 5 stars. The spicy Louisiana Hot Link out of the this world incredible. The service could be better. It was good, but below average for Memphis where the staff are normally fun loving. Maybe I was spoiled by the other venues. I’d come here again, but I do hope the plate’s and of course, the food, is hotter(temperature wise) next time.

You may have noticed I steer into the curve when it comes to dives. Interstate is a dive with a drive thru. I love that combination. This joint has peeling paint on the outside, and a crusty demeanor coming from the electric, speaker box voice. But…it’s all about the food, right? So, here we go. I ordered a large pork sammy combo(fries & a drink, $ 9.50). I was not expecting much from the fries, but since I needed to get across town & was getting a grumbly tummy, I dug into the fries. Hot, fresh, crispy on the outside… and thick cut. This is what potatoes aspire to become(although the truly ambitious ones also aspire to be drowned in gravy & cheese). The sandwich is truly enormous. There had to be ¾ of a pound of the juiciest, most tender pulled pork on a nicely toasted bun. I already think they have the best BBQ Sauce in the galaxy… so good, it deserves it’s own entry in the Hitchhikers Guide. There are three factors that I use to judge a BBQ joint — the pork sandwich, the sauce, and the nachos. For that reason, I passed over something very tempting on the menu — a rib tips sandwich($ 8). There are also two other sandwiches on the menu worth further investigation — a pork rib and a beef rib sandwich. Say What? Aggies, beware… The ONLY reason for four stars and not five is that I did not get a thank you when my order was handed to me. This place is worth the confusing labyrinth of interwoven freeways needed to get there. Or… if you are in the airport, there is one way down a ghost town of a concourse.

Living on past reputation alone it seems so they quit trying. Dry ribs, non smokey chopped pork. The cole slaw was good so there’s that I guess. Service was terrible too. Don’t come just because of the name. Memphis is too good of a cue destination to waste time here.

Overrated. Amateur service, amateur everything. This place is a disaster. Our server was a total diva that had no idea what she was doing. She moved inefficiently around the room and everyone she was serving had to repeat their requests and track her down. Eating bad BBQ in the south is such a sad experience, they should be ashamed of themselves.

I am a bbq conniseur, hailing from Kansas City, I eat bbq at least weekly. I like KC, Memphis, and Texas BBQ, and love to try it whenever I travel. I enjoyed Interstate BBQ and would come back, I had the Pork ribs and the sliced beef, I would give the ribs a 4+ and will definitely get again, the slice beef was just not my style and wouldn’t recommend. The French fries were also fantastic.

The bbq salad was good. It was ok. I also had the BBQ spaghetti. Alittle confusing because I am use to eating spaghetti and red meat sauce but this was good. We were driving through Memphis and stopped here for BBQ. There were security bars on the doors and windows, therefore, I am not sure how safe the area is.

An odd place. I’m not big on slaw with my pork sandwich. So I asked for it without. This place has the best pork sandwich I had in Memphis. High praise, given the state of the BBQ culture in Memphis. I got the sandwich to go, and that’s all I got. Next time, I plan to get the BBQ spaghetti.
