Kroger Food Stores

Kroger is the only place for Athenos hummus. Specifically roasted red pepper. Addictive!!!

This is probably the worst Kroger in Memphis. Meat selection is awful. There is very little selection in any department compared to other Kroger stores. I use it as a convenience store since it is close to home. But I shop elsewhere for my stock up.

I use this Kroger to buy food for Scouting campouts. While I prefer other Kroger stores, this will suffice in a pinch. The selection is decent but not as prolific as the Mendenhall or Truse locations.

Krogers are Krogers, right? Wrong! This Kroger is a WIC store, and does not carry upper-​end, healthy, and organic foods that other stores carry. It is smaller, has no fresh food bars (olives, sushi, etc). In fact, their merchandise is a very big reason not to go. I, however, like things complicated, so I go here to purchase gift cards and get gas points, I use the pharmacy (which has an excellent pharmacy staff– ask for Mr. Chris), and I have to go every couple of weeks for love from Lawanda and Terry (my favorite checker/​bagger team).
If you are just in grocery shopping for the groceries, I do not recommend this Kroger. Go down the street to the nicer store at Poplar and Kirby. If you like hugs, bargains (aisle 9, y’all) and find treasure and joy in every different person you meet, come to this Kroger.

I go to this Kroger because there aren’t any other real choices in Midtown. I have to say that, for the most part, this Kroger is generally well stocked and have very personable staff. My only complaint is the parking lot. I have gotten harassed by so many homeless people and creepy men that it truly makes me wonder why they staff a security officer… I will only go there at the break of dawn or 5 o’clock at night when the weirdos and the homeless people have moved on to venues they are more likely to be successful.

I wish you could give negative stars! This store is dirty and the employees are rude. I will never go there again.
