La Quinta Inn & Suites Memphis Primacy Parkway

I stayed here for two evenings over a weekend earlier this month with my wife. We arrived at the hotel shortly before the check in time and had no problem checking into our room. The hotel seemed nice enough with a bright well lit lobby and a nice looking breakfast area. We ended up
getting a room on the fourth floor and as we got out of the elevator I was immediately hit by the distinct smell of weed. That smell would linger in the hallway the rest of the night but would be gone the next day.
Whenever we stepped into our room I ended up being quite pleased. It was set up nicely with our king sized bed against one wall facing the TV and a long set of desks on the other side under the TV. The bed ended up being super comfortable and both my wife and I enjoyed a couple of good nights of sleep. The only real problem that we had with this la quinta was the gym. While I myself did not go to it my wife described to me a number of broken machines with the only working one being a treadmill. That was disappointing as the rest of the hotel seemed rather nice.
The bottom line for me is that I would stay here again in the future. While it certainly wouldn’t be confused with a luxury hotel, it was clean and comfortable and I enjoyed my stay.

In contrast to the somewhat gritty neighborhood of the last La Quinta in Memphis that my wife and I patronized, this property appeared to be located in an upscale city neighborhood. We knew we picked the right place for us and our dachshund when we saw the ad on their front door advertising how pet-​friendly they were. The gentleman at the front desk person was pleasant and seemed genuinely interested in our travels.
Our accessible room was the most spacious of the four Tennessee hotels we stayed in during our road trip. The room did have an unique shape with an almost circular foyer and interestingly provided two mini-​fridges. The one minor ding I would give is that there was no ice machine on our floor.
We did not have the opportunity to partake in the free breakfast, fitness center or the pool but the latter two looked enticing to me.
If you don’t need to be in the heart of town, this hotel makes for a comfortable, welcoming stay.

This is by far one of the worst hotels I have ever visited.
The room smells heavily of mold and mildew, the staff is not helpful at all! When my husband made the reservation, he requested a crib. When we got there it was not in the room so he asked again. Long story short, they didn’t bring the crib until after midnight! I had to stay up with my little one to make sure he didn’t roll off of the bed, which he would definitely do. He’s a squirmy little guy.
My husband, aka Save a Penny Jenny, only chose it for the price and location. We will pay extra next time and stay downtown.

Decent hotel for a decent price and it’s in a good location. The front desk people were friendly and knowledgeable about the area which I really appreciated. We were told what streets to avoid if we were going drinking on beale because of dui traps. THAT WAS GREATLY APPRECIATED lol eateries near by typical fast food fare, not that far of a drive to tunica mississippi. The rooms were a little dated, but clean and no sign of insects. It’s worth staying one night.

This LaQuinta stay has been on par with other La Quinta stays. I wouldn’t stay here if my in-​laws weren’t rewards members, but who argues with the in-​laws on a trip?! It’s easier just to go with the flow, so here we go!
Hotel still offers smoking rooms, which you can smell from the hallway. It’s pretty unpleasant and the smell seeps into the non-​smoking rooms. Minus 1 star!
I didn’t experience the hot tub, heated pool, or use the WiFi mentioned by the front desk. So, I can’t comment on those.
The elevator nearest to breakfast is pretty terrifying; it felt like being on a theme park ride. Continental breakfast was okay. They have waffle makers, cereal, bagels, toast, and apples. There is also biscuits and gravy, but they’re cold on purpose. There’s a microwave, but, no thanks. I would have liked to see some bacon or eggs, or something else hearty.
Shower had hot water; toilet and sink worked fine. Plenty of seemingly clean towels available. There’s a star. The bathroom is half of the hotel room, and a pretty important part of the stay.
Room feels dirty. It looks dirty. There’s a pretty large dark stain in the carpet at the foot of the bed (picture included). Everything that was once white (smoke detector, telephone, light switches, lamp shades, AC, caulk all over) is now dingy and yellow. The bathroom is updated but the rest of the room could use a refresh. There are dirty corners and damaged walls. Put it this way– you wouldn’t feel comfortable walking around barefoot in this room. Minus 2 stars. The room, after all, is the most important part of the hotel.
No USB charging ports, but there is a 32″ flat panel TV, and it actually has HD channels. In my experience, most hotels just slap a flat-​panel in the room and expect it to be an improvement over an older CRT TV. That’s usually not the case when they pump standard digital, (or even analog, yuck) signals into these nice TVs. It doesn’t work like that; you need HD! They’ve done it right, so that’s a plus. Sadly for me, that’s only the 2^nd star. I can’t go any higher than that.

This is a review that I wish I could give three and a half stars. The lobby and the exterior are lovely. There is a swimming pool, hot tub and laundry room. Our room for one night was $ 99, which is very reasonable for the location.
The rooms are large and very comfortable. There is a nice long desk spanning across the window area of the room. There is plenty of storage and light and the bed is very comfortable. The room itself seems very clean.
Our bathroom is in a bit of disrepair. There are cracks in the ceiling and the bathtub needs to be replaced. There is a huge hole in the middle of the bathtub. The toilet is so low to the ground that it is extremely uncomfortable. Also the water level is very close to the toilet seat, which can present problems, especially for men. Know what I’m talking about? My boyfriend knows.
The temperature in the room can be set to either hot or cold. There is no in between. The temperature was 90 degrees outside, so we chose cold. It is so hot and humid at a temperature higher than 68, which was the temperature the thermostat was set at when we entered the room. We both thought it was too cold, so we set the thermostat to 72. Within five minutes the room was humid and uncomfortably warm.
We are only staying at this hotel for one night and overall we are very happy with our visit.

Not fancy, but good, clean place for a decent price. If visiting St Francis hospital, it’s just a walk across the street. I always get a nice welcome when I visit. Breakfast area could use some more choices, but it is a continental breakfast style. Pet friendly too. Yes, whoever cleans, needs to address the public hallways, and the garbage cans in the hallway.

The staff very friendly, room very clean, pet friendly. Nice courtyard with smoking permitted, gazebo, pool, hot tub. Breakfast typical cereal, hard boiled eggs, etc. The grounds are so well kept, enjoyed our stay…

If you are traveling with dogs and you are a non-​smoker, this hotel doesn’t care. The hotel is very clean compared to most the La Quinta chain hotels, but their breakfast is horrible.

The hotel staff was excellent. The room was average but very clean. The walls are thin and if you’re there on a busy weekend bring ear plugs! The hallways were dirty and stayed that way all weekend. There was a pizza box next to a trash can in our corridor when we checked in Friday night and it was STILL there Monday morning. The grounds were very pretty and serene. There too they could have used a scrub brush. It could be a very nice place with a little work.

I Hotwire’d this hotel after a bad experience at an Extended Stay in the area. I was disturbed by the Extended Stay (for which I had a free night voucher), and decided to leave. The room was unique and modern, and the bathroom was clean with new fixtures. I would gladly pay for a room at this hotel rather than get the crappy Extended Stay room for free.

We stayed here because it was across the street from the hospital and we were in the middle of a newborn adoption. We came at the last minute & we had to get a smoking room. Jasima was the clerk & she was so helpful. She told us to have the person in the morning switch us to a nonsmoking room in the morning when one comes available. The next day we spoke to Laleita and let her know what was going on. She told us to check back with her later to see if we could switch. When we came back from the hospital she had switched it without us even having to ask. We were so grateful for the staff’s care and concern for us while we were staying there and making things so easy while we were going through a challenging time. We are telling everyone to stay at La Quinta!

Me, my husband, and 2 Boston Terriers shared a room with a king sized bed. The room was huge, clean, modern. Dogs loved it bc there was room to run around. I loved the bed. Dogs stay free. Free Breakfast.

The hotel room itself was fine. LCD/​LED tv, fridge, king size bed. The problem was the area. Two cars, including mine were broken into! They got a whole $ 3 out of my dash. $ 175 to replace the window and 2 hours later I was back on the road. I parked on the side of the hotel. Not the back. Apparently, this was not the first time it had happened either! Beware with this one.

Im really torn on how to rate the hotel. Here is why:
The rooms were nice, big comfy beds, nice view good size flat screens…
the doors to the bathroom were flimsy closet doors that lacked privacy or any sort… and the elevators were SLOW. The breakfast was good in the mornings, and the woman service was quick and attentive. The hotel its self is in a great location.
My big displeasure…
We arrive Saturday, that night we are heading out to go to the casinos and we hear a new born kitten mewing. we look high and low and finally discover the poor baby is trapped in the column outside the hotel. immediately we go in and tell the woman on shift, who tells us yep– someone told them about it — YESTERDAY– We ask why is it still in there, and she tells us she doesn’t know what the manager has plans to do… The next morning sure enough the pool little baby is still trapped and mewing, we get the manager of the hotel who tells us they are not going to destroy the column to rescue the kitten, tried to explain how it is a support structure and it would not happen, we explained that no it is not a support structure, the bottom was obviously hollow, we could remove a panel at the bottom and let the lil baby out, he said no. we told him he was heartless and went on to call the Shelby county animal control, the aspca, the non emergency help line and 2 other numbers we found and no one seemed to give a damn… Which is unacceptable… heaven forbid you take a couple nails out of the wood and make an escape route for this lil baby… instead it gets to suffer and bake inside this column in 85+ degrees until it dies… Nice heartless people… Whats a better welcome to a hotel then the smell of decaying kittens… :(

Pretty nice hotel, we were having a nice day enjoying the room until two hours after we decided to go the car to go out, and found the driver side window broken and my $ 300 gps and the $ 250 speed radar detector where gone… Everything happened between 7:00 pm and 9:00pm… And yeah front desk forgot to tell us that memphis in general is a dangerous city, and also to take your valuable with you…
But besides that, the hotel try to help us everyway

The hotel room was so lovely! It looked like a much more expensive hotel, but we did have some little issues. First of all, the pet floor was the second floor. We had to take both of our big dogs up and down the elevator to go outside, that was a little rough for them. The only other issue we had isn’t the hotel’s fault, we had terribly loud neighbors who seemed to be having a party all night.
This is an ok place to stay overnight, but if I were going to stay a few days I might find someplace else.

Decent room for a reasonable price in a nice area of East Memphis. The hotel room cost us ~$ 90 and was quiet, spacious, and clean. Nearby were several good places to eat, like Ruth’s Chris and P. F. Changs. The surrounding area seemed safe, comprised mostly of medical buildings, strip malls, and restaraunts.
The room had recently been renovated and featured laminate «wood» flooring in the entry and bathroom. Flat screen HDTV mounted to the wall. Plenty of lighting. The bathroom was large and the water pressure good (and HOT!). The bed was fairly comfortable for a hotel bed, but it had a weird faux suede blanket on it that was warm but not really comfy because it was thin and heavy. Free breakfast in the morning was standard fare: bagels, muffins, cereal, Belgian waffles, juice, coffee, you know. The OJ was gross and the coffee tasted like gas station coffee, but whatever. It’s free. The eating area was large and they had Sportscenter on, so no complaints there.

For the price of $ 65 a night, this place is just perfect. On our way from Dallas to Cincinnati we needed someplace to stay in the middle. For the price and the amount of time, this seemed to be just what we needed. The bed was comfy (and clean) the bathroom was big (and clean) and the room was big enough (and clean) with a large TV, desk, bed and bench, that we could relax for the whole 9 hours we were spending here (mostly sleeping).
The front desk staff was very friendly and surprisingly the continental breakfast the next morning was better than I expected. Belgian waffle maker, bagels and muffins, cereal, eggs (hard boiled… but still), yogurt and fruit. Juice and Coffee. Perfect.
It’s a quiet hotel even though it’s right across from a hospital. So if you ended up getting sick or accidentally incur a fatal wound, no worries help is close.

Spacious room, great bedding, very clean overall… no complaints!
We found this room deal on Travelocity and stayed here for only 60.00 during Mother’s Day Weekend… can’t beat that!
The parking was well lit and this seemed to be a very nice area.
