This is the best place to be. They make the best chocolate martini I have ever had. You have to watch the ducks March it’s so cute. And visit their rooftop setting. Everyone who works here is right I top of things. You don’t need or want for very long. Waitresses are great and friendly and you get a little snack tray with your drinks which is almonds, wasabi beans(spicy) and spicy crackers if some sort. Hate to leave had so much fun here.

The bartenders here make incredible cocktails and the waitstaff is very friendly. Plus you get to watch the ducks play in the fountain which is a nice bonus.

Classy, old school experience top to bottom. Thoughtfully crafted cocktails, some old school and some new school. And some signature Peabody cocktails. Great wine list. Love the accompanying bar snacks of wasabi peas, bbq mini toasts and almonds. Attentive waitress service. Signature desserts on the cart.

Best Bloody Mary along Downtown. You don’t even need to specify the vodka. They only use the best on Hand. A great spot to view the Ducks. Staff is very astute. Watchful and patient. Experience the tradition & catch that glimpse of Katy Perry to Clint Eastwood who just could be in the Lobby also. Oh, that was just Matt Lauer. Bad

My husband and I had about one full day in Memphis so we came here to watch the ducks since we were trying to cram in all-the-things. The drinks really aren’t as expensive as people are saying although I suppose it depends on where you live. They are absolutely comparable to cocktails anywhere in DC, LA, NY, etc. In addition, it looks like lots of people come 30 – 45 minutes before the duck event happens, order just one drink, and take up the lobby tables so if you think of it like part of what you’re paying for it time and comfort then it’s not expensive at all. I enjoyed the grapefruit cosmo which was delicious but not very strong. Our cocktail server also gave us some bar snack which contained almonds, wasabi peas, and some sort of tasty cracker. Seeing the ducks parade from the fountain to the elevator was pretty funny. It is a huge tourist attraction so be prepared for that. I do really suggest coming early for a cocktail so you can get a seat and not have to stand.

The iconic Peabody. It’s one of those places you just need to go to of you’ve never been to Memphis. The lobby bar and surrounding area are generally always packed on weekend evenings. They have someone playing the piano and yummy desserts and drinks to choose from. I especially love snagging up one of the couches and lounging with friends. Our waitress was incredibly friendly but incredibly slow Take the good with the bad, I suppose. I ordered a pot of coffee and the German chocolate cake; both were incredible. The icing on the cake was to die for and the coffee came with a cute little sugar cube in the shape of a duck!(I appreciate the little things!) You cannot order a single cup of coffee from the bar, which I thought was strange, however, the French press hit the spot! Definitely worth a stop if you’re visiting!

We are from California, We came to have a Peabody duck pastry and some drinks. At 5:30 p.m., the hostess said that she was completely out of Peabody ducks and to return at 6 a.m. the next morning. I was upset and left. I walked into the deli next door, and there was an entire row of Peabody ducks awaiting purchase. I got one and ate it in the lobby. The hostess was rude and dishonest. It was not much for her to walk into that deli and get a duck.

Hotel bar! One of my favourite places in the whole world. Where the south begins! I LOVE the atmosphere here, can’t describe it you must visit. The Mint Julep is superb, service also. This hotel bar is worth crossing the Atlantic by itself.

Caved & painted wooden beams adorn the grande lobby, rivaling any palatial gathering spot. Strangers cannot help but enter and be amazed by its beauty. Be a fly on the wall and take it all in: conference attendees, international tour groups, & casual Memphians. Majestic fountain with cascading flowers in bloom; Sonorous Trickling overflow of water adds to the ambiance. Live piano player working the crowd. Noise and guest numbers ebb and flow with a natural rhythm. This is THE Veritable melting pot that is Memphis. For best service, request Ashley for your Server.

The best place in Memphis to people watch and have a cocktail in an elegant setting. The staff are very professional and courteous. The Peabody is indeed the South’s Grand Hotel.

This is a great place to people watch grab a drink and desserts. I feel Peabody lobby is about the atmosphere and the experience. While the desserts are aesthetically pleasing and taste fine; they are not the star of this venture. You’ll see the rich, famous, eccentric, wild and everything on between. The servers are accommodating, but often they are so busy that you will need to flag them down and be a bit assertive to get service. I have no issues doing that :-)

Nice bar, nice setting, especially around Christmas time. Unfortunately service is very slow and spotty. Drinks are OK, but not the superior quality you would expecvt for the prices they are charging.

Attention: Tourist trap! Delicious, expensive tourist trap. I think we all know whats going on at The Peabody. If you live in Memphis, you certainly know. If you visited, you saw how much their rooms cost when you were booking another hotel. Gal pal and I head over to the The Peabody bar for drinks and we know it will be expensive but it’s a thing to do, and it was darn fun. 2 perfect spots await us at the bar. I ordered their signature Jack Daniels peach sour. It was SOGOOD. Like candy, and quite strong. I don’t know if they double pour all their drinks but my friend noticed we both got 2 shots. Probably because we’re flipping gorgeous, and all that. Bar snacks, delicious drinks. Southern, wealthy as HECK, gents abound. It’s a great way to pretend you’re someone you’re not for 30 minutes. It’s definitely a fun thing to do while visiting Memphis.

This is not your average hotel lobby bar. This is the best place to get a great glimpse of the famous Peabody Ducks and it is the best place to sit and enjoy the afternoon parade. So aside from having this perk, it is a gorgeous bar — gorgeous. THis is the perfect hotel lobby bar. It’s a great place to sit and enjoy a drink. It’s a fantastic place to finish your night in the lobby having a great little dessert. The ambiance is perfect. THe drink menu is interesting, and the drinks are well done. It is not unreasonably over-priced. The staff is friendly and very professional. This is the perfect place to have a drink. IF I lived or worked in the area I think I would stop in every day. Even if you don’t stay at the Peabody you should stop in whenever you are close to Memphis.

The Lobby bar is always a fun place to hang out mostly because the Peabody is just a really beautiful hotel. Sometimes the waitresses could be a little nicer but I guess they get stressed out during the influx of people coming in for the ducks. I’ve only tried non-alcoholic drinks but they’ve all been very good. I also enjoy the little snacks that come with it.

Overpriced, yet strong drinks. It’s definitely the price of a lobby bar of a «high end» hotel. LOL You can watch the ducks from here. The service is professional and the Eastern European bartender is a hoot! Must visit while in Memphis! Come early to get a seat… 1 – 2 hours in advance of the ducks coming or going back to the roof.

Ah the Peabody! The people watching, the elegant atmpsphere, the piano music, the sound of the fountain, the cozy seating. .. .what isn’t to love? This is my absolute favorite meet up spot in town. I’ve yet to have a cocktail I didn’t like although a simple coffee, tea or hot chocolate are good too. The desserts are OMG good, but very rish, you really only need one for a couple to share. At 11am the ducks march down and at 5pm they March back up so it gets really crowded during these times. The duckmaster sticks around for phots or just to say if you’re interested.

If you’re looking to enjoy a relaxing evening at the Peabody without paying the Chez Philippe prices, then the Lobby Bar at the Peabody is exactly what the doctor ordered! Located at the heart of the historic Peabody Hotel, this elegant and upscale bar is a perfect spot to unwind and enjoy a delicious cocktail. The seating is exceptionally comfortable, the bar is spacious, and the already elegant ambiance is topped off by a piano playing in the background. In addition, the service here is exceptionally friendly and attentive. And if you’re with your special someone, this is the perfect place to enjoy a dessert together. Each dessert is artfully prepared and results in a masterpiece that sends your taste-buds soaring with delight. The desserts here may not appear substantial in size, but they are so rich that a couple will be well taken care of with just one(that is, unless you are truly in a mood to indulge). Sure, the price point may seem a bit steep at first glance, but trust me, the experience is well worth it. Next time you are in the downtown area, be sure to treat yourself to an evening at the Lobby Bar at the Peabody Hotel; you will thank yourself later!

Let’s say you want to pregame before you hit Beale St. up. After all these talks of the famous ducks, the only thing could think of for a fun short-distanced walk from the hotel would be the Lobby Bar at the Peabody. Scoping it out earlier in the day, I liked how elegant and relaxing it seemed. It screams early 20th century, which I appreciate greatly. So, it was time to check it out! Getting there at a prime time on a Friday night, the whole lobby was hopping. We took a lap around, and during the walk next to the fountain, we saw a brass lined tray of awesome looking desserts! If I had my cargo pants on, I would have filled my pockets– even with everyone watching. Right near the end of the lap, we spotted a table in the corner– and we circled in like hawks on prey. Very shortly after, we were greeted by an attractive server(I noticed, very tan for February, I wish I could get like that) wearing all black. She gave us a menu and some nuts to snack on. They had a huge cocktail selection, but decided to stick with one of the signatures– the Mint Juleps. At $ 14, that was the most expensive cocktail I have had in the city. When she brought them back, I sort of understood why. Since we knew that soon enough we would be heading back to the Coyote Ugly to get schlitzed we should just stick with a drink. We asked the server about the ducks, and she told us they keep them in their own house on the roof. She said we could take our drinks(after we paid) and check it. So we did– and that was awesome! We were definitely on the younger end of the clientele in the lobby, but that was ok– we can hang with the cougar crowd! This is indeed a nice place to people watch and relax, and if the prices would be a weee lower, it would be as good as it gets!
