Specialties
Since the beginning, Memphis Pizza Café has served excellent thin crust pizzas, tasty sandwiches, the freshest salads, and a wide variety of cold beverages. We make our pizza dough daily, it’s never frozen and does not contain sugar or dairy products. At MPC we strive to use only the freshest vegetables, meats, and cheeses. To ensure this, we receive several grocery deliveries each week. We operate full service restaurants, are friendly servers will come to the table to take your order, no need to come to the counter and place your order or get drink refills. Our focus is on the quality of our food and not the speed, so we do not deliver, but we do have carry out in all our locations as well as dine in. Everything is made to order, whether it’s a whole pie or just a slice, so come in and try Memphis’ best voted pizza eighteen years and counting.
History
Established in 1993.
Memphis Pizza Café opened for business in March 1993, the brainchild of owners Gary Garlington, Kevin McReynolds, and Tom Selakovich. The original location was in historic Overton Square on Madison Avenue. (We moved down four doors into the current Midtown location in January 1995, acquiring much more space and a patio.) Business grew such that by late 1994 we began to think about a second location. 1994 also marked the beginning of a streak that saw us winthe «Best Pizza» competition in both the Memphis Flyer’s Reader’s Poll and the Memphis Magazine’s Subscriber’s Poll. We have been fortunate to win these awards annually since then. In early 1995 we selected an East Memphis site, and opened in May 1995on Park Avenue across from theEastgate Shopping Center. Seeking a location even further east, we opened in the Saddle Creek Shopping Center in November of 1997. Two more locations opened in 2006. The first was in Southhaven MS, and the second at Poplar and Byhailia in Collierville.
