Love Nunnerys! Drop clothes off there every couple weeks and pick up next day on my way home from work! Reliable, accurate, and good prices.

After getting an extremely last minute job interview, I was desperate to find a dry cleaner that would be able to do same day or overnight dry cleaning. I went to Drake’s, Cousin’s, and another random one I found on the way, and none of them could do anything less than two day service. Nunnery’s was my last stop, and even though it was almost twenty minutes after closing time, the lady at the front must have seen my desperation and allowed me to come in. They promised to have my two blazers and two blouses done by 2:15 pm the next day, and when I arrived they were already waiting for me neatly on a rack. I changed quickly from my regular teaching clothes into the more professional stuff because they had a dressing room, and when I dropped my blazer she ran to pick it up and made sure to dust it off, and that it looked perfect. For the four items, I only paid between $ 12 and $ 14(far less expensive than Drake’s), and always opt to pre pay because the specials are applicable only to that, I think. The specials are really great, btw. Overall, quick and excellent attention to service, employees who go above and beyond, and low costs. I will keep coming back.

I’ve tried several cleaners around town. Some are good. Some are not. This is the best in my opinion. The prices are very fair, the quality is great, and the service is quick. I’ll recommend Nunnery ’ s to all my fends.

I have had a really good experience here so far. I switched from Besinger to Nunnery. Bensinger gave me three different prices for my wedding dress within a 5 day period(while they had my dress in hand). I went to Nunnery’s and he looked at it right away gave me a good price and the results were great. I decided to make the switch to them for everything after that. They are more affordable and do a great job. His wall is filled with local celebs that go there as well. I would highly recommend them.

I took about 10 pieces in to be dry cleaned and picked them up on Saturday. Today, Monday, I took a sweater out of the bag to wear and it still had very obvious spots on it. I immediately took it back and was basicly told that I was trying to pull a fast one on the owner! It was humiliating. The tag was still on the sweater. I related how he had not cleaned one piece because it had a few broken threads that needed reweaving. It was one working day previously. He even gave me the name of the reweaver and drew a map on where to find it. He acted like he had no idea what I was talking about. I will never do business here again and I would urge anyone who uses this service to go home and look at what you paid for.

John S.‘s review of nunnery’s was removed by Unilocal,i don’t know why, as I was actually witness to what happened to him. I’m glad«J.K.»(who is from Michigan and looks a lot like he could be a relative of the owner of this establishment) had a good experience at Nunnery’s, as I have in the past had good experiences there as well. «J.K.» may not know what I am talking about, and oddly, he says the same thing that the owner of Nunnery’s said to me «must be wrong place, you must go some other place» … how could it have been the wrong place when we had gone to only one dry cleaner(Nunnery’s) and they actually had the clothes, marked for alteration as we’d asked, unfinished and uncleaned to give back to us? The counter girl at Nunnery’s was as nice and apologetic as she could be to me, but the owners were rude and insulting and basically stole from us by taking our money upfront then giving us the clothes back undone claiming they didn’t do that kind of work. And they didn’t even clean them. Maybe they just don’t like midtowners, or jewish people, or white people, or people who drive toyotas, or people who are married… i don’t know what it was that in their minds set us apart from them and made us the«other» and therefore made it okay to treat us rudely and with disrespect, scream at us, call us liars, and generally act like they were panhandlers in a developing country instead of business owners in a developed country. I don’t know why Unilocal decided to take down John S.‘s review and his personal account of what happened to him in Nunnery’s but I assure you the reading audience and J.K., I have lived in memphis for over 25 years and have never been to another dry cleaner besides nunnery’s before this incident. We now go to Krosstown Cleaners and they are very friendly and provide excellent service.
