I would give this store, with the current management and employees, 2 and one-half stars. The current manager was overwhelmed by my recent return. I ordered shoes via the internet and had them delivered to his store, saving shipping charges. I walked into the store and stated that I was there to pick up an order. The manager looked behind him for my order. He seemed confused not to find it there. He started to walk to the stockroom to look for my shoes. He stopped and asked if I had received a phone call. I said no and he started to walk back towards me. I stated that I received an email stating that my shoes were at his store. He turned and found my shoes in the stockroom. I tried the shoes on, to make sure they fit, before leaving the store. Of the nine pair I ordered, only 4 were acceptable. There is not a consistency in size or width in Payless shoes. One pair was very cheap looking– no sale. I took the shoes up to the register, that I didn’t want, for a refund. The manager seemed irritated. He asked what my reason was for returning the shoes. I explained. He proceeded to state that I probably didn’t know my «Payless» shoe size and that he would be willing to measure my foot. Twice he said this. He said most or all of these shoes were available in his store. He seemed exasperated with me. A line began to build behind me. The manager became more flustered. I am not a newbie to Payless shoes. I know my size. I bought these shoes online at a considerable discount. I bought them for basically what they are worth… maybe. No one should pay full price for Payless shoes. I received a phone call from an employee at this store. She said my order is in. I said I already picked up my order. She said if you don’t want it, don’t worry about it and hung up.
