The pita pit. My prize winning essay. Well the meat sucked. I used my bookmarks and wrote myself a tip ahead of time to remind myself to order a prime rib pita. My bookmark/tip idea worked great because I walked into a new place and knew what to order before I got there and it took zero time to make a decision. 11:30 on Sunday. I’m the one and only customer. Weird. 12:00 Sunday. I’m done eating. No more customers in 30 minutes. Weird. One of the employees walks in with a bag from Taco Bell and takes it to the back. Weird. It was huge, but not filling like a burrito which is what it looked like. $ 10.50 after tax for the prime rib pita, chips, and drink isn’t bad. It didn’t come close to filling me up and since I consider this to be fast food, I expect to be full for $ 10.00. –1star Prime rib, my ass! I’ve had better meat from the deli. They could have used lunch meat and made it a whole lot better. Every bite I took, I had to spit out a little bit of unchewable meat. The cheese should have been heated on the grill, but it wasn’t, so it never melted. The sauce was dripping out of it, and it was a complete disaster. –1star So why did I leave 3 stars? I don’t know, just felt like it. I’m not coming back.

Too expensive for what is served! Hardly any meat on the pita wrap. This place either needs to drop its prices by $ 2 per sandwich or start serving a bigger sandwich. By the way I had the gyro!

Unilocal directed us here and it was GREAT! Wide amount of choices! I had the Dagwood and it vanished quickly. Staff was awesome as well! Great prices.

My Father & I have lunch once a week, and his favorite place is the Pita Pit on Union Ave. They have great service, & great food, traffic is terrible getting out, but who cares after eating here!

Excellent food and wow what a friendly professional staff and it was without a doubt the cleanest Pita Pit I have ever been in. Absolutely spotless! I had the Chicken Souvlaki and it was packed with fresh veggies and Chipotle sauce. Very good!

My first pita pita experience and it was really good! The place is really clean(only been open for 3 weeks) and has ample seating if you opt for dine in. The service was fast and friendly too. I ordered the Club(ham, turkey, bacon) and dressed to order, which is really nice. You can choose from a variety of toppings. Note: ask for toppings to be heated, if desired. I love the fact that they chop up the meat on the griddle! During my visit, they only allowed me to order a large sandwich because they didn’t have the small pitas in stock yet, which I found to be a little odd. The total for my pita and chips was almost $ 10 bucks. No drink. A tad bit high in my opinion. However, I would go back. It was a really good sandwich and easy in and out.

I have not been to a Pita Pit for several years and the last one I went was in San Jose, California. Let me first say that My only experience with Pita Pit had been after consuming several adult beverages… until today. My wife and I came down this way as we were originally craving the delicious burger served by 5 Guys Burgers and Fries, and after my recollections of the food memories made at the Pita Pit, we came decided to eat here. What an extremely clean location! There is definitely still some training issues that need to be ironed out as the service seems just a little bit disorganized. There also seems to be a lack of understanding as to what toppings go on which sandwich(as described so vividly in the handy app). The toppings are really fresh and are reminiscent of the way Subway used to do things. The grill master had both mine and my wives food on the flat top before my bank even had time to approve the charge! I enjoyed the Prime Rib Pita with lettuce, red onion, and the Dijon Horseradish sauce. My wife had the Gyro Pita which I wasn’t even able to sneak a bite of! She did say it was delicious. Now for some suggestions: they have a nice chip display but never once were we offered a combo meal of sorts. A pita and a bag of kettle cooked chips seems like an amazing combo! We can’t wait to come back.

So this is the first Pita Pit experience I have ever had. Always wanted to venture to the one in midtown but… well…let’s face it… there are so many infinitely more exciting food options on/around Union and Cooper. NOW we have a Pita Pit in my neck of the woods which does NOT have as many exciting food options IMO. None of that is to say that Pita Pit is not exciting. I was pretty pumped to try it. I saw the sign that it was opening a month ago and just happened to pass by on opening day and noticed the signs. I am signing up at a gym this week, getting a body wrap, etc… so I was hoping this place might be an answer to my unhealthy fast food woes. It seems like it just may be! The place is small but nice and clean. It even smelled freshly cleaned. Let me preface all this by saying: Yes I know… it was opening day! Who knows what will happen as time goes on, but this is my first impression. The company guy obviously sent by corporate Pita Pit greeted me. The cashier was being trained by a guy who was extremely helpful in explaining the entire menu to me in a speedy way. I learned they have breakfast pitas, and the others you just choose your meat(chicken souvlaki is what I went with) and regular or wheat pita and then once they grill up the meat, you add your toppings. I ordered and immediately had meat on the grill before I paid. The toppings were very fresh and attractive. It’s like how I wish Subway would be, but isn’t. Plenty of healthy choices available. Lots of sauces, but I hoped the guacamole would be enough and it was! Healthy fats for me! I also got a mango/strawberry smoothie which came out just as speedily as the pita. It was almost as good as my sacred TSC smoothie. Who knows if it was healthy or not. It sure was tasty though. They need better cups for their smoothies though. Mine cracked right down the center and I had to get a new one at home. I will be BACK!
