This place is amazing!!! Food is delicious, customer service is like chick-fil-a on steroids lol. I had their chicken and waffles and I promise it’s the best I’ve ever had. I’m a big guy and I eat a lot so I ordered shrimp and grits and chicken and waffles… was only able to finish chicken and waffles! Portion size is great.

It’s always a good sign when you have the Memphis Tigers logo on the front door. There’s a sign directing you to grab a menu, seat yourself, and order at the counter when ready. We decided to order a small cheese and large pepperoni pizza for our party of 5. It turned out to be a poor choice because there was too much food! I didn’t count the slices on either pies, but there was plenty of pizza left over for a midnight snack. I had the pepperoni pizza and it was delicious. The pizza had just the right amount of sauce and the crust was cooked perfectly. I enjoyed the extra cheesiness factor of the pizza as well. I can’t wait to come back and try the fries and beignets.

Cheeseburger pizza I totally recommend. The service was fantastic. Prices are average I would say for specialty pizza or create your own. Dining area very nice just really small for the location and area of town. I recommend planning ahead if visiting on a Friday or Saturday evening. But during the week to run in for a quick slice and drink to go, shouldn’t have any problems. they are working on obtaining a liquor license so soon will be variety other then beer.

A great addition to the University of Memphis Highland area. The location is huge, a much needed increase in seats from the Ridgeway location. And the addition of the beignets was really cool, they were the hit for my family. Service is always friendly and the TV’s were great. Overall a great place.

It was ok. The pizza was to doughy fir my taste. There was really no service. I like the beer but had to ask for it. I may try them again if I’m in the area.

Garlic app, very good. Roast beef sub, good. French fries, very good, and I’m a French fry snob. They are the thin kind and the perfect amount of salt. The pizza bowl is very tasty and on the lite side. Suffering from a little new timers pains, but only been open a few weeks. Well worth the stop.

This is Literally the best hot sandwich I’ve ever had in my life. The pizza my friend had was the biggest slice in the world being, probably the size of a toddler he said it was amazing. My other friend had the burger said it was awesome I have nothing bad to say about this place even the staff was hot hot hot! and the fried out if this world. Like I really be awesome if someone told me they could come loaded.

Sooo… I didn’t read the diameters of their sizes and assumed a large was similar to a normal human’s large pizza. I was pleasantly wrong. These pies are huge and tasty! Sort of a New York style with gigantic slices and generous toppings. We had the Animal Lovers and a Spinning Goat(both large so had plenty of mid-night noms) for take out. It was somewhat late on a Saturday night and they were pretty packed but the order was hot and ready and on-time for pickup. Haven’t been here more than twice but I’ll be back for more.

Out of the several pizza places I’ve tried in Memphis, this is by far my favorite! We had a Caesar salad & the USA! USA! pizza. Service was very friendly and quick, and our food tasted great! The salad was very fresh and the dressing was unique and delicious. The pizza was perfectly crisp but not too thin. It’s a good thing for my wallet and my waste line that Rock N Dough is a 20 minute drive for me!

Great pizza, will come again. Service on the other hand was awful the lady at the register walked away from to to chat with friends and I had to go get her to check me out and then find her again to refill straws(it wasn’t busy).

Good pizza in a nice warm lodge-like atmosphere with large screen tv’s. Great location at Poplar and highland(near A-Tan) with no problem at all parking. There were 3 in my party and we split a 12-inch pizza and each had salads. It was plenty for us. Pizza by the slice is also available. The service was friendly and prompt. Prices were pretty reasonable, especially since it’s not a full-service place(you order at the counter and fill and refill your own fountain drinks) so tipping is not expected.

Wow, I don’t crave pizza ever– but Rock N’ Dough is truly amazing. First, the atmosphere of the new location is great. It isn’t overly snazzy, but it has class. The ladies at the register are super friendly, and were willing to help me figure out what to get. Then there is the food– AMAZING. The pizza slices are huge, and the quality is great. The crust isn’t too thick or too thin, and has just the right amount of crunch to it. We also ordered a large Greek salad, which is enough to feed four people. The ingredients were fresh, and they did not hold back on any one bit of the salad– olives, red onions, tomatoes… so good. Definitely will be back!

Di Fara’s on Ave J in Brooklyn is the only pizza I have had in America that compares or exceeds the excellence and craft of this restaurant. Hands down the best pie in The Mid South.

I am just not that impressed… I want to be, because everyone else seems to be, but… Every single time I go in and order a slice of pizza it’s kind of underwhelming really. It was like that on Ridgeway whenever I visited and my first visit here was the same way. The slice is just not given enough time in the oven(see pictures for here and the old place). They throw about 12 pieces of shredded Mozzarella on top and stick it in the oven. The added pieces don’t even melt fully before it’s removed and served. The old cheese that was on it when it was originally cooked is still firm and isn’t gooey at all. You can slice it up and the cheese is like cake slices, it doesn’t ooze downward, it just leaves a straight edge. The middle of the slice is just lukewarm every single time I have ordered. Oh well, maybe I should tell them to leave it in longer. Aside from the pizza slice I have never felt as if anyone cared if I was there or not. This last visit the young man that cashed me out spoke to the kitchen and the owners(big guy, black hair, and shorter stocky guy with bandana on his head that were eating off and on while I was there and kept disappearing to the back) more than he did me. He kept trying to make them understand he was losing money at every transaction because the only coin change he had was quarters(he owed me nine cents and gave me a quarter in change). That’s cool bro, take care of business… Also, I think they may have adopted table service as I saw a waitress taking orders. I ordered at the counter and sat down which seem to annoy the register guy. Anyway, I am sure I will be back because I’m fat and love pizza. I will just tell them to leave it in the oven longer maybe.

We really loved the Ridgeway location. It was tight and we felt ‘lucky’ when we could find a seat, but the service was decentn and fresh pizzas were the bomb. Now that they’ve relocated and have 3 times the seating — it’s convoluted. Who ever plotted the locations for the counter, hot bar, drink bar and ordering/register was apparently new at it. One register isn’t enough, people line up in front of the drink fountain(which was out of a syrup or two, «we’re waiting for the truck») and patrons and the person at the register can’t communicate if the TVs are on. Our group ordered a large pizza and two different types of pizza by the slice. The full made to order pie was good as usual, but the ‘by the slice’ was really disappointing. Unilocal say’s 3 stars means«A-OK» and 2 stars is «Meh, I’ve experienced better». Based on the descriptions I’d click 2 stars but I perceive 2 means ‘pretty bad’ and 3 means ‘average’. Many businesses of all types find it a challenge to scale(grow in volume) because what processes worked with a volume of «n» per day won’t work at «3n». I hope they get it figured it, we used to say R’ND was the best. We’ll see if that becomes true again. Until then… be sure to order a whole pizza fresh.

First, thank the pizza God’s that they are back open after being closed for relocation for a few months. I went through real withdrawals. I stalked their Facebook page daily. When I saw they were back I had to go try out the new restaurant space. I came on a Sunday evening. First thing I noticed was the weird shopping center location. It’s next door to a nail place and behind perkins. If you didn’t know it was there it’d be easy to miss. It’s much bigger than the old location and they have a long table for big parties. They also have a bar area with barstools. They are currently only serving beers as far as alcoholic beverages go. They’ve added alot of new stuff. Some new salads, pizza bowls, burgers and fries and even beignets! Of course on my first trip back I went for old reliable. I ordered a medium pizza half chicken half Italian sausage. It was perfect. They have quality ingredients, delicious cheese and the crust has just the right bite. I always fan girl out at the Caesar salad. Although I don’t remember the dressing being as strong as it was. There are a few kinks to work out but it’s delicious pizza, a fun environment, good customer service and I’ll be back!

Oh, how I have missed you! This place is the Gold Standard for Pizza. Besides the name being beyond awesome, this is some of the best pizza that I have ever eaten. They have a helpful and very friendly staff that constructs delicious oversized pies with many great topping choices sourced from local ingredients. The crust is soft with a crisp bottom and a thickness just thin enough for thin crust enthusiasts like me and enough heft to satisfy those who love thicker crust. There is a freshness to the crust and the sweet sauce that you do not get from other pizza places around town. I presume that comes from making the pizza sauce and dough in house daily. They are on the pricier side of pies in the city; however, you get what you pay for! They have slice combos for lunch that include a salad – the slices are so large that I can barely finish one! Also, their food truck is at the downtown farmer’s market on Saturdays. I absolutely love this place and always suggest this to everyone for pizza in the city. This is the place for high quality food, great service and the best pizza in Memphis.

Rock n Dough serves up truly delicious pizza. They get the crust right!(which bumps them up to Little Italy’s level, my highest compliment). There are plenty of «fun» pizza gastropub-style places around town, but few have good food(I’m thinking Aldo’s here… How do they stay in business with that ‘pizza’?). The restaurant space is modern, comfortable, small(although much bigger than Little Italy’s). Orders taken at the counter but it almost feels like table service. Their menu extends beyond pizza but we were on a quest. Pizza pies or by the slice. Growler bar towards the back. Rock n Dough gets 5 stars on venue, ambience, pizza, staff, and convenience.

Still my favorite pizza place in town. The new locale is bigger than their Ridgeway location, but IMO, they could’ve used more seating. It is a busy place on Friday evening. My guest and I go for a couple of slices of pizza and their beignets. The slices were heated and promptly brought to the table. The beignets? It felt like they had to get them from New Orleans. 15 – 20 minutes waiting felt longer when the table next to us got their powdered sugar goodness, scarfed them down, and left long before our dessert treats arrived. Drew the cashier was friendly, and he said he would try to reimburse me for the beignets, but he had not figured out their register system yet. I stuck around for a few more minutes, but left, since it felt wrong holding up a table with the steady stream of customers pouring in. Their carry out business was constant, and the dine-in patrons had their fill of salads and pizzas with beers to satisfy their cravings. The reason I only give 4 stars is their cumulative waiting on tables system. It works in churning out pies and food, but when something is messed up(like my beignets order), no one really has your table, so you end up asking 3 – 4 people about a simple fried pastry that shouldn’t take that long to fry up.
