History
Established in 2010.
Sache is the nickname of Eric Evans the primary designer and co-founder. Evans, 25, studied art at Savannah College of Art and Design. Evans was introduced to John Sylvester, 31, a business consultant who was working in the entertainment industry, when both were doing work for Memphis-based band signed by Justin Timberlake & Interscope– FreeSol.
«Eric was working from his garage and developed a reputation for design.» said Sylvester. «I saw him sign a check and I thought, ‘That needs to be on a T-shirt.’ His work is just unique and people like it.»
Why downtown Memphis? «One of the things that really drew us to this area was the desire to help bring back a fun & unique shopping experience that’s happening in the South Main District. This area has enormous potential. The historic environment of the area bleeds into what we want to do with our clothing lines.»
In July of 2010, the pair opened Sachë Design and create everything in the downtown store.
Meet the Business Owner
Eric E.
Business Owner
Co-Founder and Chief Designer, Mr. Sachë, was born and bred in Memphis, TN. A graduate of Christian Brothers High School and educated at the prestigious Savannah College of Art and Design in Georgia, his progressively yet classical approach to design stems from an ongoing effort to create products that not only look and feel good, but also have meaning… Hence the meaning of Sachë: a self coined term where look, feel and purpose are one. «It’s not about fashion for fashion’s sake or art for arts sake. Good design is defined by a combination of many factors that come together to create something that is not only aesthetically pleasing, but is also functional. And that’s what I try to achieve with the products we create.»
