When I worked downtown I ate there almost every single day! They have a huge selection of food for whatever you are in the mood for. The staff is absolutely wonderful and will treat everyone like family! Try the chili cheese fries!

I placed and order for delivery. Less than .07 miles, was told they will be there shortly. An hour past and no food. Called back to check on order. There response was they got busy and couldn’t delivery. But had a phone number to response to my order. Why in the hell would offer a service and can’t honor. Bad business!

It’s my go-to spot for a quick, cheap gyro to go.

Not so great. I went with my parents and they both got cole slaw and said it was terrible. My burger and fries were fine though. It was also kind of slow and dirty, especially the bathrooms. Overall I wouldn’t recommend it, I mean there is no reason to get mediocre food in Memphis!

This place is one of those«finds«that you will tell your friends about. Just an ordinary looking place with fantastic food. HUGE burgers, cooked just right and will make you look forward to going back. The only complaint I would have was the air conditioning or lack of. The place was so hot that we got our food to go and walked back to our hotel. But the burgers were actually worth the trouble. We shall return.

This is one of those places that is so sketchy looking that you just know it’s delicious. They almost literally have everything you could possibly want: burgers, catfish, gyros, spaghetti, salads… you name it, they probably have it. I’ve eaten here twice and both times I’ve gotten a cheeseburger combo. Now, the patties are definitely frozen and the burger is not some gourmet masterpiece, but it is delicious. And the fries to seasoned with seasoned salt, which reminds me of how my mom makes them… DELISH! The place is kind of podunk… I honestly had avoided this place because it looked so sketch from the outside until someone brought me a burger from there… then I realized that it’s close, cheap, and a delicious way to get my heart-attack-on-a-plate fix. Staff are super friendly and seem to recognize their regulars. Overall great atmosphere, people, and food… just not so aesthetically pleasing.

Some of the best burgers I had ever had. One of the best places to get a burger downtown Memphis.

Stopped by this place for a quick meal before driving back to upstate New York after spending a week with family. The restaurant had a somewhat dirty feel. The food was hot and came out at an average pace. The bacon cheeseburger was good, but when I started on the fries, I got something hard and crunchy in one of them, and nearly broke my tooth. Needless to say my appetite was ruined. In conclusion, this is not a place I would recommend, based on my experiences.

This place is hard to review. It’s a greasy, cheap food place. The service is good, and they serve a good variety of food.

Stopped in because the other places were closed for lunch. Burgers were cooked fresh and to order. I got bacon cheeseburger. Bacon was thick and cooked just right. Looks like the locals eat here. Almost didn’t go in because of the homeless people sitting in the chairs out front. Eat inside.

I was in town for a conference. On a search for lunch one day we discovered Sam’s by the long line. We decided to give it a try. The burger was great along with the fries. I also tried the breakfast another day which was good. Another great thing about the place was the food came out pretty quick. Also it came out plain and you added what you wanted to your burger from a «salad bar» type thing. Great downtown place for a burger. Also one review states it was cash only. They were taking cards when i was there.

With all of the restaurant choices available in downtown Memphis, you might overlook Sam’s Hamburgers and More when you go out for your lunch hour. My advice? Don’t. Sam’s offers perhaps one of the best hamburgers I’ve ever had. It’s up there with Earnestine and Hazel’s soulburger, the Huey burger, and the Blue Plate burger. One of the best things about it, aside from the taste? It’s ready in about 2 minutes flat. Take it to the salad bar and dress it anyway you want. Sam’s doesn’t waste time with the details of your order– they just let you do it yourself. Hot dogs and chicken sandwiches are also on the menu, although I generally opt for the burger. Order the meal with chips and a drink for $ 5, but make sure you have cash. This particular Sam’s does not take debit or credit cards. Dine in the restaurant or outside along Main Street on the Mid-America Mall strip. But don’t mistake this Sam’s for its neighbor down the street. This one is known for its burgers, while the other offers delicious taco salads, fried chicken wraps and pizza. More on that in their review.
