Love coming to try makeup before I buy. Awesome variety of brands and colors. Great for a girls day out as well!

Although I have been to my fair share, this particular Sephora holds a special place in my heart because of the woman who helped us. We were visiting the area and decided to kill some time in a mall when I saw Sephora and realized I needed a new moisturizer/facial cleanser. We wandered about before a woman stopped us an inquired if we were finding everything we needed. My mom asked several questions, got some samples and then we went off to skincare land where we chatted about all sorts of things. Why we were there, what we were up to, what we had planned. She was full of information not only Sephora related, but Memphis as well. A little bit of friendliness goes a long way with me and this woman was SO incredibly nice and attentive to our«beauty needs.» I wish I could come back just to chat.

I try to order online from Sephora ever since I moved to Memphis because the customer service at every location around here is TERRIBLE. You’re either ignored or have to deal with incompetent people. This location has generally been less of a pain to visit and most of the staff here is pretty friendly and helpful(leaps and bounds better than the Carriage Crossing location) so I came here to figure out which shade I needed for some face products. Worst decision. The girl at the front was helpful and got someone to help me after 10 mins of me waiting around(I don’t mind browsing so it was okay). But the person I ended up with made me want to pull out my hair. I understand that most of Sephora’s employees are just sales associates with no formal makeup training but GOODGOD! Where do I start? I don’t consider myself a pro makeup artist by any means but I had to constantly correct her(she kept showing me moisturizers and BB creams when I specifically told her I wanted a tinted moisturizer; she looked confused by this even when I told her exactly WHICH tinted moisturizers I was deciding between), show her which shade I was(I could eyeball that the color she showed me was way too pink even though she insisted she was right… so I showed her how ghostly white I now looked and she went back and got the shade I originally told her was correct), and had to ask another associate to help me(THANKYOU, Latisha!). I got so fed up with the whole thing that I wanted to leave the entire time. The whole thing was like pulling teeth and to add insult to injury, she acted like I was inconveniencing her the entire time. At the end, I asked for samples for the items I was considering and was given close to nothing for most(I usually purchase whatever I want right then but I didn’t trust this girl’s color choice and i wanted to leave ASAP). She claimed there wasn’t enough product and gave me practically empty containers – I approached Latisha about it after and voila! Suddenly I had a usable sample to take with me. The only reason this place is getting 3 stars is because Latisha went above and beyond to help me even though she was busy. She was knowledgable and helpful the entire time. This Sephora needs to hire more people like her. I’m sorry, but if I’m paying $ 50+ for a product, I expect it to match my skin. I’m going to go back to buying everything online from now on.

Sephora advertised an 8am Grand opening for the Jackson Tennessee location, at 845 why are still in line-Store employees said store doesn’t open til 10! And they don’t know who said the opening was at 8! Everybody in Line all reiterated the advertised time-This is why I #Ulta

I went to get my makeup done, but was told that they wouldn’t do it without an appointment. I wanted a quick makeup application. Their website says walk-ins are welcome at all locations for simple 15 minute mini makeovers, which is what I inquired about. Note to self, avoid this Sephora.

Eh… I will never visit this Sephora again!(Or at least I will use all my effort not to visit this location again). Every time I come to this location I am ignored. I’ve tried coming in work clothes(you know… to look fancy) and I’ve tried making eye contact with sales people and smiling(looking pathetic I’m sure). Yet, at least 6 times I’ve come in and have recieved no assistance. The last two times I came in for the same reason hoping to get some help picking out a certain eye shadow I wanted. Mind you… I am addicted to make up and when I come to Sephora I’m on a mission to drop money and leave with lots of loot to make me look beautiful. So, when none of that happens I feel defeated. Ultimately this is my experience at this Sephora. Sephora as a company is a long time fav and I’m used to staff at other locations being super outgoing, on top of customer service and eager to help. This location just lacks that. So… if you are looking for high end cosmetics — they have it. Assistance with a purchase or just feeling good about your experience here… me thinks not. There are equally good cosmetics stores in the same general area so that’s where I will go now. And the next time I want my Sephora fix… I’ll take the 10 minutes extra to drive out to the other location. I hope this locations works on this aspect of their business. The other reviews support that I’m not the only one experiencing this.

Horrible service! I always get ignored at this location, and when I try to ask for help, the lady goes«ugh, I’m too busy to help you.» But everybody else was busy talking to each other or texting on phone. Nobody around to assist me. I guess it is just a makeup playground like everybody says. Play and figure everything out on your own!

Sephora is my heaven. Whenever I leave this store I can only imagine I look and smell like a version of Bea Arthur on crack(RIP dear Bea!) When I first went here years ago I was shocked at the amount of things you could try, test, play with and sample. You mean I can spray EVERY perfume on my arm? I can put blue, green, purple and gold eye shadows anywhere on my body? I can slather my cheek bones up with that new face cream? I can dust my forearm with glittered powders and foundations galore? It is like a grown woman’s version of Busch Gardens. They carry awesome make up lines– Smashbox, Dior, Laura Mercier, Stila, Urban Decay, NARS and even the new Kat Von D line to name a few of my favs. Perfume is what you are looking for? Well, if they ain’t got it at Sephora they don’t make it kids. The wall of perfume(ladies and gents flavors) is so huge I haven’t made it through all the scents in all of my visits here– and I visit a lot. You can feel free to try everything, and when that sneezer of yours gets desensitized by all the scents, they have little pots of coffee beans you can stick your nose into to start all over again. This particular location is my favorite in the Memphis area. The staff is hella knowledgeable, wonderfully helpful and always willing to help you out with a new look– or even to offer up a helpful opinion as to whether or not that certain perfume makes you smell like Grandma Bertha. I love Sephora. It’s a wonderland of fun, and I don’t know that I could try everything if I spent a good month inside their doors. You’ve made this girl and her ever-loving beauty product hoarding situation quite happy. My bathroom cabinets, bank account and my husband? Not so much.

Pretty poor for a Sephora. I went to Sephora last night to pick up some makeup basics. Knew what I wanted and walked right in. There were about 8 people on staff, including the guy stocking perfumes who was busy texting on his phone. I got one«how ya doin’» before the entire staff huddled around the register to talk about personal purchases they were making. About half the staff left at this point. Now, the beauty of Sephora is that is it a beauty wonderland — tons of products to try, and you normally have to beat sales associates off with sticks as they try to help you find something. The store yesterday was tore up from the floor up. It was disorganized, half of the testers were gone, and most of the fixtures needed a good cleaning. After being asked once if I was doing okay, I was ignored for the rest of my visit. A mom and her daughter walked in obviously looking for something for the daughter and no sales associate came near them while I was there. When it came time to checkout, I got glared at by the two associates nearest to the counter as I interrupted their time when they were trying products on each other. When I checked out, I got no samples, had to tell them I was a club member to get my points, and got my purchases chucked into a bag. At a time when high-end stores(Banana Republic, Pottery Barn) are leaving Wolfchase, I would think that competing against department stores for luxury item dollars would be key to Sephora’s success or failure. This visit was a failure. here I come!
