The Cake Gallery Baketique Memphis

I ordered a breakfast sandwich today with wheat toast this time and it was pretty good. Also got some cookies which were baked to perfection, light crunch on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside. Customer service is always good (same lady)

I have to say first that the cake I got was Delicious!!! So good. The young lady working inside was so nice and extremely helpful in helping me figure out what I want. Definitely will return!

I will start with saying I was disappointed at first with the cakes I ordered due to miscommunication on my part. I was late getting in to town so I called to tell them & the lady on the other end was Soooo pleasant and let me know she would be there waiting. I get there see my cakes and the lady was very apologetic (not their fault) I get my order grab some cupcakes to go and oh my word the cupcake was delish.
We didn’t eat our cakes until the next day and again I was eating a little bit of heaven in every bite… Soooo good.
Will I be back a BIG yes!
You must try!

Seriously good, seriously decadent cakes, seriously wonderful people! The only mystery is why I’m not in here every day. Amazing variety will challenge your food fancies…

This place was absolutely amazing! I don’t live in Memphis but anytime I visit I will definitely have to make a stop here! Not only were the desserts delicious but the service was amazing as well.

We found this Memphis gem from a Unilocal review as my mom and I were passing through on I-​40. First I have to honestly say that I am a cookie snob, and only a very few desserts gain my gold star of approval. After walking in the door of The Cake Gallery Baketique, I knew I was in the presence of greatness!
We started off thinking we wanted cookies and grabbed three of those, for only $ 2.50! But by the time we’d started toward the cookie case, my mom had already scoped out the eight or so layer cakes situated around the glass shelves. We got the cookies to go, ate a slice of caramel cake before we got a chance to sit down practically and then got six of the cake truffles to go!
The co-​owners, Sammy and Nicole were so nice and hospitable, we enjoyed their conversation almost as much as we enjoyed the desserts. Really though, everything you can eat here is at the top level of what is possible for a cake/​cookie/​truffle to be. My mom and I are bakers, and we couldn’t do any better, our hats are off to this Memphis duo! I love it when local places like this are staying alive and putting out such quality baked goods!

while spending the weekend in Memphis, we randomly found this place. It was within walking distance from where we had lunch so why not. being that it was valentine’s day, the place had plenty of goods to choose from — multiple cakes, cupcakes, cookies, chocolate dipped strawberries. prices were decent. we got a slice of cake to go and ate it on the bench in the nearby park.
Other than the sweets, the rest of the gallery & boutique was a bit eclectic.
would we make a special trip to come here? probably not. but it was close by and the cake hit the spot.

Didn’t try the cakes but had their peanut butter and snickerdoodle cookies and they were fantastic!

I saw the positive reviews for this bakery and it was all true. I needed a cake for my father’s 90^th birthday dinner celebration. I was not disappointed. The cake was beautiful and tasted even better. The waitress at the restaurant we were dining even asked where we got the cake from. Whenever I come back to Memphis, I will always make a stop here.

First day here in Memphis and happened to come across The Cake Gallery Baketique on our way back to our hotel. The co-​owner (wish I got her name) is a bubbly, sweet welcoming woman who gave freely of her time. She described each beautiful cake in a way that made want them all!
We chose a three layer cake with two layers of yellow and one of chocolate with a divine caramel frosting. After a short chat and paying for our slice of cake she offered us two truffles. We haven’t tried the truffles yet but I have a strong feelings she and I are going to become fast friend in the next free days.
We have plenty if bakeries in Chicago but The Cake Gallery is a MUST GO!

Delicious cake and truffles. We stopped in there on our vacation, and stuck up a conversation with the owner. We mentioned that it was our birthdays and we got a small cake and she threw in an extra cupcake and two truffles for me. The cake and the truffles were superb, and the proprietor extremely friendly and bubbly. She said she has been open since valentine’s day

Watch out, Memphis, a new challenger has entered the fray! Say hello to the Cake Gallery Baketique. No, I didn’t spell that wrong. The Baketique is the name for the newest bakery/​boutique located downtown.
We arrived at about 7 pm on a Saturday night, and though the sign on the door said they were closed, Sammy (the co-​owner) graciously and warmly welcomed us into his shop. The boutique had a few items for sale, including a few fedoras, but I spent precious pretty little time looking at anything that wasn’t edible.
There were chocolate covered grapes available as a sample and Sammy eagerly encouraged us to destroy the left overs — and we happily obliged. You may assume that the chocolate covered grapes would be nasty (as i did), but the juice from the grapes acted as a welcome lubricant for the heavy chocolate. Sammy had a few cakes on display, including a chocolate, a strawberry, and a caramel. There was one lone slice of banana cake left, so I’m guessing it it was a big seller. In addition to the regular cakes, there were also cookies, cupcakes and mini-​cakes available. My eye was drawn, however, to the truffles. No other bakery in town, to my knowledge, makes truffles. Sammy was nice enough to let us have a sample of the truffle, and I seriously contemplated breaking the display case, grabbing as many as I could hold, and trying to make a run for it. I can see the headline now: Truffle Thief Strikes Again! with a picture of my fat ass gasping for air as I try to elude the cops. Eventually, I just decided to buy some. Way less embarrassing and way more satisfying.
The truffles were amazing. Sammy alluded to eventually making a banana cake/​caramel truffle, and, my personal favorite, a key lime cake truffle. I may have wanted to kiss him on the mouth at this point. I am a sucker for key lime. The cupcakes, which I also ordered (are you surprised? eating too much is why I can’t elude the cops when I steal handfuls of truffles.), are moist and taste fantastic. They are not as sweet as Muddy’s which means I could eat a few and not develop diabities. As a plus, the prices are reasonable AND they offer a frequent fat people… er «shopper» discount. If you go during a Redbirds’ game you can get three cupcakes for 5 bucks! Man, I can’t wait to see what all Sammy has up his sleeve!
