Great food, service seemed a little disorganized but food made up for it.

The environment and décor was very cool. Very friendly server. We ordered the Kim bop as appetizer, and it was delicious. I got the cold noodles as my entrée. I thought it was good, but could have had more ingredients. Make sure to allow yourself plenty of time to dine here!

The ambient deserves an update/upgrade, but the food is good and staffs are nice. Highly recommended.

I hope we visit again, Thursday night was very busy and they had one waiter serving everbody, a little under 30 people. We were hungry and didn’t want to wait any longer for out food and besides they didn’t have the bimbop that we wanted. So we went next door to Kwik Chek.

I’ve had my fair share of Korean noodles from different places in the US(St. Louis, Chicago, LA, NY), but never have I ever had a bowl of jjambbong(spicy seafood noodle soup) that was so spicy that it practically gave my stomach ulcers. The spice was so overwhelming that in order to taste the actual flavor of the soup, I had to bite on an ice cube for a minute and then drink the soup. The flavor itself is mediocre with no seafood taste. The noodles were beyond overcooked and mushy. There were only 3 tiny shrimps, a few pieces of small calamari, 2 imitation crab meats, and 2 mussels. The service was good, our server was really nice. However, it would be nice in the future that they let us know we have the option of ordering it less spicy! I only found that out today after reading some other people’s reviews on here! I thought this place would be more authentic but I was sadly disappointed.

The food is delicious and very reasonably priced. I like spicy food and my noodle dish had great flavor and the perfect amount of spice. We ordered a couple of appetizers which were just as delicious as the main dishes. I would absolutely have given 5 stars except that the service is SOOOOO slow! We waited for 40 minutes for our food and after we finished eating, another 20 minutes for our check. This long wait has happened both times we’ve been there. I’ll continue to go back but only when I have LOTS of time to spare.

This place is nice. They are just a tad under-staffed(I never got a water re-fill) but I would guess that this is authentic Korean cuisine! I had the Tuna noodle dish. It was refreshing. We also tried 2 jeon appetizers which were crispy with a dipping sauce. There was also a warm sushi-like appetizer that was interesting.

I’m usually not a fan of soups and ramen but this place has changed my mind! Their menu is extensive and I love that they have the option of vegetarian broth(yesssss). I’ve been back 3 times in the month since I found this place… oops. The hours are a little weird so check to see if they’re open when you go. My only issue with this place is that service is slow. The waitress is super nice but it just takes forever for you to get a refill on drinks, etc. Definitely stick with their ramen! You won’t be disappointed!

2 ½ stars The food is good, but the service is SLOW. One cook and one server is not enough if all of the tables are full. I might try again, but I don’t have an hour an a half for lunch

I’m a native Memphian but had lived in Seattle for over 20 years and I know Asian food quite well. The interior was good except for the kitchen which is pretty filthy and you can easily see that from anywhere you sit. I ordered their signature Crazy Noodle soup and opted for seafood. I counted 4 tiny shrimp, two muscles, two big chucks of Krab and about 5 Calamari. I honestly am not the best reviewer for this as part of the whole Korean dining experience is the heat and I had very little. My order was to go and I also ordered a shrimp appetizer but got something completely different. Didn’t discover that until home, so. If you’ve had narrow landlocked horizons then you will like this place but I honestly could make the broth and noodles at home next time.

The place itself has a very hippie«vibe» to it. As it is not fancy nor is it the opposite. It has its charms. Once you enter the establishment, you can smell the broth boiling in the kitchen. The menu is your typical korean noodles dishes with a few fusion here and there. It’s dark, but it’s a perfect place to go during a winter night. It makes you feel like you are in a different place other than memphis. I’ve been here twice. I had the cheesy ramen the first time and BiBim Naengmyeun the second. Food was great. Each dish average about 10 dollars. Food is favorful, colorful, and unique. Good typical asian comfort food with a twist.

My wife doesn’t eat spicy food. We ordered two ramen bowls, both labeled as «mild.» They were both spicy. All that they would offer us was a free bowl of rice to go with it. I was forced to pay for both bowls. I ate my bowl, but it was too spicy for my tastes, and I do enjoy some spice. Then we walked down the street so that my wife could eat. This is VERY poor service.

It’s definitely worth trying their noodles if you have never been here. The taste won’t disappoint you. That’s why this place is sometimes packed for some reasons. But the service is probably the worst I have ever seen in my life. If you don’t mind waiting 20 mins to get your drink and another 20 mins to take order and another 20 mins to get your food. And lastly another 20 mins to get the check. I would recommend you this place.

Love this place and so do my kids! Got the Bibimbap and chicken ramen. I never had Bibimbap with noodles but it was great. The flavors were really really good although pretty different to the Korean food I used to eat in Dallas.

I really like the food here, but I have had multiple bad experiences with the service. I’ve been completely ignored by servers, forgotten by them, and today the girl working was rude. Don’t go here unless you are willing to wait a long time. Today I was informed that they were only taking to go orders because it was 15 min before close. They have lost me as a customer.

I have been back twice in the last few months and the service was definitely better. I haven’t been able to stray from the beef dish in my original post because it is so good. I can’t wait for colder weather — I will definitely be going back soon! I need to remember to bring my own wine in the future. I understand they allow outside wine for a nominal corkage fee because they only serve beer.

I finally ate lunch here for the first time, right before thanksgiving, and I absolutely loved it! The main part of the restaurant where the kitchen is has high tables with stools. I prefer tables with chairs so I sat in the lean to addition. The room was nice and had some great artwork in it. The shoddy ductwork really takes away from the appearance. Also the waitress was sweeping at eleven(I was her first customer) and I asked if the night crew didn’t clean yet. She told me the lighting is inadequate for cleaning at night. Ok. I’m not sure how many roaches and rodents they have, but this would be ideal for them. So I ordered the dish with raw tuna, and it was not only delicious, but the appearance was expertly crafted and designed. There were samplings of different vegetables and the fish was of utmost quality and taste. She was also very generous on the portion of fish, considering what you receive for the price of sashimi at other places. The dish, however, was not enough to fulfill me. Now normally, when I spend $ 10 on lunch, finish it, and still want more I feel cheated, especially if there is a similar food around town that is a better value. That wasn’t the case here though. Considering the cost and price of sushi and sashimi elsewhere, I felt this was a bargain. What I ordered next was a tilapia appetizer that looked like a salmon patty. Patties are usually mixed up fish, while these were whole pieces that had vegetables and jalapenos mixed into the breading. I thought it was brilliant. The waitress(young black lady) was a great example of everything a waitress should be. I wish she was at every restaurant I eat at. She gave me a warm welcome, was polite, but not intrusive, and more than willing to help. She seemed to really enjoy serving me. Way to go! I really like the simplicity of your menu, and the pictures were a great aid in helping to make an ordering decision. You realize that most of your customers are not as familiar as you are with your food. I found the whole experience to be easy. I also loved the amount of heat that was applied to the dishes. It may be too much for some, but I love it. The silverware chop sticks really add another element to the experience. I remember all the restaurants in Seoul having these. It makes the wooden ones seem so cheap. So far you have five stars. It was when I went to pay and thank the cook that I noticed that the ceiling, the ductwork, and the exhaust hood were not only dirty, but literally have large pieces of dirt hanging down. There is paint peeling and falling off the ductwork. The exhaust hood is painted and should be stainless steel to clean properly. I deduct one star for this and your inability to provide enough light to clean at closing. Inexcusable. I wanted to take pictures if this, but wasn’t able to without drawing attention.

I came here for lunch with my boyfriend. We came around 11:30pm on a Wednesday and it was empty. We ordered the Bi-Bim Bap noodles, crazy noodle soup, and tofu jigae. Each dish is about 10 dollars and the soup noodles come in this huge pot. I enjoyed the crazy noodle soup, partly because it was the least spicy of them all. It was a good hot dish on a rainy day. I also enjoyed the bi bim bap noodles. It was very chewy and had a good mixture of meat, veggies, and pickled veggies. I didn’t try to jigae because it was too spicy but my boyfriend enjoyed it. Good quality Asian food in Memphis!

Stopped in here with a friend for dinner while I was in town for a concert down the street at Minglewood Hall. It seemed like a little hole in the wall spot so we weren’t totally sure what to expect, but ohhhhh man, we were SO excited because this place RULED! We sat at the high top tables in the front of the restaurant, but there was also another seating area as well as a cute little patio that would be really nice on nights that aren’t as hot as it is now in August. Our server was super friendly and attentive. All along the walls, little dolls and action figures from various comics, Disney films, etc. were lined up which was a cute, fun touch. The menu is pretty big. I have a hard time believing there’s anyone who wouldn’t be able to find something to love here! I went with the crazy bibimbap noodles on our server’s recommendation and it was excellent. The dish was a delicious combination of flavors and the perfect amount of spice. They’ve got a decent selection of bottled beers you can buy– think Blue Moon, Stella, etc. We ended up staying a while just to hang out, enjoy our food, and chat because the restaurant had such a nice, chill vibe it was really fun to stay for a bit. If you’re looking for a super delicious and very reasonably priced meal in Midtown Memphis, head to The Crazy Noodle!

I love their Jjambbong. So glad I found this spot having moved to Memphis from LA. Their food has quite original korean flavor — not the fusion bland stuff. I can’t really go often because of an infant so I miss the food a lot. Ddeokbokki was really good too. Can’t wait to go back and try other things on the menu! Price is reasonable as well and the service has always been pretty good.

The crazy noodle has all your favorite Korean noodle dishes and even the ones you didn’t know about! I’ve been wanting to try naengmyun(korean cold noodles) for a while, but I’ve never had the guts to do it. The waiter encouraged me to take the plunge and I’m so glad I did! Savory beef with chewy noodles, cucumbers, lettuce, and bean sprouts. The whole thing had this wonderful sesame pickle taste with a hint of spice. The cold temperature was perfect for a hot summer day. My husband ate the crazy bibim noodle. He wasn’t sure what made it so crazy, but he said it was certainly delicious. When we peered at the back of the menu, we couldn’t believe our eyes! Who could have guessed this place would have all our favorite Korean desserts?! Patbingsu? Yes please! I never thought I’d be able to get hotteok outside of Korea. The check came and we had gotten an appetizer, two entrees, and a dessert for 30 bucks. Nice price, Crazy Noodle! We don’t live in Memphis, but we’ll be back when we come back through.

Healthy delicious food. By far my favorite place to be in memphis to eat and enjoy myself. Every entrée is relatively ten dollars and you get your money’s worth by the amount and most importantly by the skill that’s put into the food. To go along with it, the atmosphere is new age authentic. It shows some roots but also some young flare.

My boyfriend and I tried to go here last Saturday for lunch, but they apparently don’t open until 4, contrary to what the hours on Unilocal say. Luckily we decided to go back for dinner the next day! Overall my first experience with Korean food was positive! The waitress here was friendly and was happy to give recommendations. The inside was decorated strangely with children’s toys, but I liked that we could see the chef cooking from our table. The portions and spice levels were perfect! I felt just full but definitely not overly full. There were plenty of veggies, which I loved. My boyfriend wanted to come back the next day! I’ll definitely be coming back.

I went with a dinner club. We tour around different restaurants in Memphis. We had 7 and I called ahead to let them know we had a larger group because I read the reviews. They had a table reserved for us with menus and place settings already set up. I was impressed because it’s pretty casual. The server was excellent although she was the only server there. We sat in a side room that looked like a sun room. It was winter so the room was kind of cold. We ordered the veggie and beef(wontons) and I forgot the menu name. They were excellent. I had the Jap Cha and added beef. It seemed large but I finished every bite. It was really fantastic. You can ask for forks if you have trouble with the chopsticks, the noodles can be slippery. If you bring your own wine it is $ 3 per person, not per bottle but I felt it was reasonable. I highly recommend this food for a winter day or take out or even just a casual evening.

I LOVED my lunch here and I only regret that I didn’t return the next day for lunch again as I had planned. I picked a phó place instead, which turned out to be a yucky choice, so I wasted my last day to eat at The Crazy Noodle. Bummer, but I fully intend to hightail it back here the next time I am in Memphis. I originally stumbled upon The Crazy Noodle because I was searching for a phó restaurant when I landed in Memphis. However, the Unilocal app kept directing me to TCN in my search and I decided to give it a try(plus Midtown has quite a good assortment of local restaurants, so it’s always a good bet). I could smell the mouthwatering aromas from the parking lot — meat sizzling, sesame seed oil, spices and stir-frying vegetables. Yum. TCN is very cute, with outdoor seating and a big cooking area out in the open where I perched at my hightop table and watched the owner cook my lunch. The eatery kind of reminded me of a tiki bar — you have to visit to see what I mean. And the décor is funky, they have kids’ toys from the 90s decorating the tables. The menu is kind of an abbreviated, fresh spin on traditional Korean, and the items I chose from it were deeee-licious. As the owner/chef pointed out to me, she uses a lot more fresh veggies and doesn’t offer those predinner dishes of Ban Chan. The service was very friendly, and I came during a slow period, so I didn’t wait long for my food. Both the server and cook were quick to accommodate me: I only wanted half of an order of beef man du and so she fried me up and charged me for just two crisp, delicious little golden pockets of beef dumpling, served with dark, fragrant dipping sauce. My meal was as fresh as I could hope for. I watched the chef/owner sautée chicken, blanch noodles, and wield her knife like a boss chopping up vegetables. I was served a huge dish, the Crazy Bi Bimbap noodle bowl with chicken. It was a perfect combination of saucy, crunchy, cool, creamy, spicy, hot — and the flavors were so good together! My lunch with a half appetizer was $ 13 — this is a GREAT deal for the quality and amount of food. TCN will be my first stop the next time I’m in Memphis.
