The Pet Hospitals – Poplar at Massey

We initially visited the Pet Hospitals because they offered a free examination and immunizations when we adopted our puppy in 2012. We immediately loved Dr. Barton. She has always taken the time to listen and offer helpful and practical solutions, and she saved our dog’s life when he was only a few months old. The staff members are always incredibly helpful and friendly. We never have to wait long, and the entire office is spotless. Even though we live in Midtown, we don’t mind making the drive to see the crew at Poplar + Massey.

We love the Pet Hospitals! They take very good care of our pup and the staff is very knowledgeable. Plus, the $ 1.00 nail trims are great!

Dr. Barton is a wonderful vet! She is very smart and looks at all sides of the ‘picture’. She is caring both to the pet and to the owner. She knows her patients very well and makes you feel valued and understood. We are very glad that she is a part of the Pet Hospitals!

This is the best vet I know of. First of all, we got a wonderful cat from the House of Mews in Memphis. They treated her completely for free besides heartworm medication. Then, roughly 2 weeks later, we found a puppy with no owner in sight, and they treated her for free also. Second, they provide quality veterinary care. I would not trust any other vet with my pets. I HIGHLY recommend this vet. The staff are always nice and I just cannot say enough positive things about this vet.

I’ve been to a couple of different vets in town through the years with different pets. I started coming to The Pet Hospitals after I got my puppy from the Humane Society. The Humane Society gave me a voucher for free puppy vaccines and a visit. I was pleasantly surprised by my visit. Their office is clean and the staff is extremely nice! They seem to really care about your animal and make follow up calls and emails after your visit to make sure everything is OK! One time, I had to take my dog to the emergency vet at like 11 p.m. because he had an allergic reaction to something. I didn’t know where the emergency vet was, so I called The Pet Hospitals and used the one of their answering machine. The next morning, I got a call from my vet to make sure everything was OK with my dog! I’m assuming the emergency hospital informed them of my dog’s visit, but I thought that was so nice of them to go the extra mile and check up on him. I highly recommend them!

We recently took our 15 yr old lab to the Massey location. Our poor boy was in distress and they were very close to our home vs going to our usual vet. The staff knew we were coming and were very helpful in getting our dog out of my van. They were extremely gentle and very sympathetic. Unfortunately his condition deteriorated much quicker than anyone expected.
I could not have asked for better care! Dr. Barton was wonderful, she took her time explaining everything to me and then was kind enough to speak to my husband over the phone and explain again. She allowed us to stay with him all day and we were never rushed to make a decision. Each staff member checked on us often and tried to make us as comfortable as possible. I don’t think we could have gotten better care from one of our own hospitals. They made a very difficult day bareable. In the end we had to end his suffering and Dr. Barton and her staff went out of their way to help us through and again did not make us feel rushed or in the way. They even made a clay paw print for our 3 little boys to have.
When we decide to get a new dog we will definitely be using Dr Barton as our vet!

I had been going to the Colliervile location for years. I loved it but moving to East Memphis meant about a 20 minute drive one way. The Massey office opened about the same time I moved so I gave it a try. As much as I miss the doctors and staff in Collierville I love Dr. Barton and the staff at the Massey location. Dr. Barton is great and always has time for questions. I give Dr. Barton and the staff an A+.

I called around and Pet Hospital had most reasonable puppy package available, offering all shots & deworming for one low price. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. And we had a great experience with the vet and other staff.
The cost for neutering and meds was a little high so we went elsewhere doe that, but overall very good!

Awesome clinic from Marisa at the desk to both the doctors and assistants. They are friendly and knowledgeable! They care about animals and it shows!

After leaving the previous review I received a call from the lead vet at Pet Hospitals asking me a few questions and apologizing for their miss. I appreciated him taking the time to call and check on my cat.
