Had a kidney stone and this is where Dr. Shappley wanted to do the surgery. Had an initial appointment that was nothing more than to arrange payment. I asked about billing. The clerk was very rude and condescending stating «The procedure must be paid in full before any procedure will be preformed.» So I paid THE FULL balance and got an appointment for my surgery. I arrived about 8:45 am for a 9 am surgery and had to wait 3 hours (after 12pm) for the procedure to begin. I asked what was going on? More rudeness! I was finally taken back and immediately realized I was just one of many and would be treated like someone in the 15 items or less line with 20 items. It should be stated that the place had all the ambiance of a meat packing house. 20+ people are all in one room with nothing but curtains between each bed. Absolutely no privacy. You can hear patients across the room calling loved ones before their surgery. So I was lucky enough to wake up from this nightmare and got the hell out of there as quickly as possible. A couple of months later they decided to increase the cost of my surgery by $ 110 after the procedure had been preformed and paid for in full. I called them and their excuse is «we don’t know how much a procedure is going to cost». I had a kidney stone removed. A procedure they preform all day every day and they don’t know how much it’s going to cost? Total BS and more rudeness. I refused to pay stating I have a receipt that is marked paid in full. Without contacting me again they turned the matter over to a collection agency. TL: DR UROCENTER IS A SLEAZY, DIRTY OPERATION THAT WILL MISTREAT YOU AND SCAM YOU. DO NOT USE UROCENTER MEMPHIS.
FRAUD, MEDICARE FRAUD, RUDENESS, DIRTY ENVIRONMENT, NO PRIVACY, HORRIBLE ACCOMMODATIONS AND EVEN WORSE EMPLOYEES.
I WOULD RATHER HAVE MY KIDNEY STONE BACK THAN DEAL WITH THESE HORRIBLE PEOPLE AGAIN.
