Specialties
Owned by Thanksgiving Coffee, we have the best coffee and espresso drinks in town, but we also have organic bagels, the «cowboy cookie», handmade pastries, world-inspired café’ fare and deep dish pan pizza.
Thanksgiving Coffee is just 9 miles up the road so our coffee is roasted fresh & local for us. We train our baristas to exacting standards so you will get a great drink consistently
Our pastries are made by hand, on premises, everyday. You see the pride-of-product in every bagel, danish, cinnamon twist, cookie, brownie, macaroon & lemon bar we make. All trans fat free.
Our pizza is deep-dish, Chicago-style pan pizza, available by the slice with always a choice of a meat and a veggie at all times. Our empanadas, chicken and veggie, are also hand-made from an old Central American recipe — delicious. We also offer legendary breakfast & black bean burritos, a gluten free baby size, mixed green salads with our own Tamari-Ginger vinaigrette dressing and much more.
Come & enjoy!
History
Established in 1982.
Thanksgiving Coffee bought the Bakery in 1996 from the loving hands of original owners, Lenore and Carla. Initially, the Bakery was about 8 feet wide with a card table out front for the cash box. Every order and was taken and had to be retrieved from the kitchen, one at a time.
Now the bakery is 3 times wider, there are display cases, a refrigerated case. indoor & outdoor dining and other improvements but many of the same recipes (or older) make the Mendocino Bakery & Café’ a blend of rich tradition and innovation.
