Gus’ General Service

Gus came out to install a screen door, and to look at our laundry room french doors, which weren’t working properly. He was friendly and resourceful, once determining that the new screen door wasn’t the right size, was able to reinforce the old door and install it. Also gave us advice on the right door for the future, given our slightly uneven frame. He was also very fair on price, and was extremely easy to talk to, and a pleasure to work with. I would hire him again in a heartbeat (and will, for future handyman jobs).

Gus power-​washed/​sanded/​seal the deck and others for us. Knowledgeable and provided many advices. The work was done as scheduled and the price was more than reasonable. Called back to check the work. Would use him again.

Gus is one of the most conscientious and perfectionist contractors I had the pleasure to work with. He helped us rebuild our deck and it is absolutely beautiful. My neighbors told me how much they liked his work. He is ALWAYS on time and his word is good as gold. He also helped us tremendously in working with the County. We highly recommend Gus. He is an excellent contractor.

I’ve used Guss to repair my garage doors in 2 houses,

Each time he would fix a problem, in a little while something different was broken again, in both houses.
When i called him last time, he came over and replace a starter on the door opener, charged me $ 115.00. Literally 3 weeks later exactly the problem reappeared. I called him and ask him to warranty his job, he refused it. He said the proper fix is replacing the motor for $ 450.00 and both springs for $ 235.00, total of $ 685.00. (Why fixing something that is not right for $ 115 and 3 weeks later telling that wasn’t the right fix?) Even so, he was busy with some other job, as he said…
I needed to fix the door ASAP and used somebody else who did the job for $ 425, installing a better motor model for less!!!
Guss called me back 2 days late, he agreed to give me $ 50 discount only if i use his services again. When i’ve told him that i couldn’t wait with the fix and used somebody else, and asked him to send me a $ 50 check back, he said he is not going to do that. When i’ve mentioned about writing a true review, he has threatened me, telling me he knows where i live…
Now i’m going to think twice before i invite a stranger to my house for any kind of repairs.

Gus repaired a broken garage door for us and did it quickly.
He is a knowledgeable, honest, hard-​working person. He is articulate and easy to work with. I wish all contractors were like him.
