I would recommend anyone with injuries or pains to Dr. Mike. He wants his patients to be happy & healthy. I sit in front of a computer all day and he helps me survive.

I am writing in praise of the marvelous Dr. Rikke Johansen, D.C.
Her knowledge and adjustment techniques are superb. She is also the type of holistic worker who makes it a point to empower the patient by suggesting corrective exercises and physical fitness regimen ideas, in lieu of simply saying, «Come back here for treatment all the time.»
I came to her with some chronic back muscle pain that she expertly relieved via spinal manipulation and fascial massage. Her diagnostic was spot-​on and her suggestions for physical exercises were super-​helpful to me in the long term.
I also enjoyed her adjustment table manner, so to speak. She is professional and no-​nonsense but really fun to be around.

Dr. Toal is an excellent chiropractor in every area. He is easy to schedule, he follows the schedule, he does great work and carefully thinks about what he is doing. He is also very personable and kind.

It’s not like they need another 5 star review, but I really have been wanting to write this review — — for a year. I purposely waited to see how I felt and how long I could go essentially pain free — I’m still going, but felt it was time to post a review!
Growing up, chiropractors had a bad reputation. I was told they can do more harm than good and are rough, so I was always weary and refused to ever go. As cheesy as this sounds, Dr. Toal made me a believer! Not all chiropractors are equal.
Early last year, I started developing back pain on and off. Perhaps from constantly lifting small kids or whatnot, I ignored it because hey, I’m decently young. It’ll go away (or so I thought). Instead, it got progressively worse — from occasionally sore to pretty painful doing any activity. I saw my primary dr, who referred me to PT. I was given exercises, electric node — like therapy, heat compresses, massage, etc. There was no lasting relief. Then, the day after Thanksgiving came and the pain was downright debilitating. I could barely move — a cough or sneeze would send me to the ground in searing pain and tears (but I couldn’t cry because even that hurt so there’d be a sorry stream of tears running with me trying to stifle sobs!). I truly have a high pain tolerance (having gone through labor multiple times with no meds), and this was awful. I would have rather birthed 10 more kids than endure this! It put me on such a downward spiral — as a young parent, not being able to run after my kids or do anything? I was sad, scared, and mad — WTF, why won’t the pain go away?!
Then, after having to go to a meeting on my knees since sitting in a chair hurt so much (the pain was now radiating down my legs), my boss insisted I go to Health Logic — — he said I didn’t have to, but he made the appointment for me for that afternoon. I was hesitant since they were chiropractors, but I had run out of other options. My boss couldn’t sing Dr. Silva’s praises loud enough, but he didn’t have availability that afternoon so I saw Dr. Toal.
Skeptical, skeptical was I. Intake and some treatment (painful) the first visit. I didn’t see much of an improvement, but I asked Dr. Toal how many treatments it would take. After assessing me, he said probably about 5. I asked him how often after that, and he told me about his back pain and how he was able to go for years without another treatment. With a raised eyebrow, I told him specifically I did not want any adjustments, he said okay. He was friendly and patient with my insecurities (he’s younger than I expected!), and also talked a lot, explaining muscles, ligaments, fascia, what he was doing, etc. I wasn’t always following, but the fact that he tried was nice.
He used the Graston Technique which was painful (made me wince and sweat!) and it felt like he was scraping my bone directly. But, he told me in advance, and while I left bruised, my back actually started to feel better. On the third visit, he did an adjustment and I was mad since I told him not to! BUT, I couldn’t stay mad for long because it did something strange, like it opened up something in my lower back and felt good! Plus, it wasn’t rough; he just rocked me back gently and my back popped several times. As I drove out of the parking lot, I realized that for the first time in MONTHS, I was able to sit in my car without ANY pain! The last session, I ASKED Dr. Toal for an adjustment and he laughed.
Lo and behold, by exactly the 5^th session, my back felt amazing. I couldn’t believe it and have been telling everyone it really was a miracle (and I’m not that kind of person). I’m also not one to send a gift basket to professionals, but I did that too. I had to try to convey how truly grateful I am; it honestly changed my life. I’ve referred several people to them and those that have gone, have had similar results.
I am writing this because I know chiropractors get a bad rap sometimes. Some say they don’t «fix» issues because they want you to come back. Sure, maybe some fit that, but not Dr. Toal. He was honest and even agreed with the PT exercises and suggested a few more. Sometimes when my back gets a bit tight, I just do the exercises and feel better. I haven’t had to call Health Logic again (one year and counting!), but if I feel any pain or come across anyone in pain, I will send them (including myself) straight to Health Logic!

Dr. Rikke Johansen is a miracle worker. I had plantar fasciitis for four years. I tired everything, and I mean everything, and I was in constant pain and unable to wear anything but tennis shoes with insoles. She used the Graston method on me during four visits. It was very painful, but completely worth it, because after those visits, I was healed. Miraculous. Go see her!!!

Dr. Rikke Johansen is phenomenal. She has treated me for a variety of issues related to having kids, bad posture working at a computer, and various sports injuries. I wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone (and I don’t recommend doctors lightly). She’s a master diagnostician & her treatments have ALWAYS worked for me.
About ten years ago, I developed issues related to carrying a baby with one arm, suffering back and neck pain on one side as a result. Even after being a lifelong, high-​level competitive athlete, I had never been to a chiropractor (and was highly skeptical). But I was suffering without relief and decided to go chiropractor shopping. What I mostly found were chiropractors who wanted to adjust me, and then get me signed up to a «treatment for life» plan. Dr. Rikke was the complete opposite. When I met her, I knew she was for me! Dr. Rikke spent a lot of time initially understanding the «whole» me, my athletic history, and my current issue. She then proceeded with treatment towards the goal of healing and getting me back to my normal activity asap. She also taught me how to spot behaviors that were exacerbating my issue so I could self-​monitor and self-​correct to avoid having to see her to begin with.
After my initial success with Dr. Rikke, as life would have it, I had totally different issues develop related to current sports training & dealing with old injuries from my former days as a competitive athlete. As an athlete herself, I found I could easily communicate with Dr. Rikke about my issues. She translated my non-​medical descriptions into medical terms to reach a spot-​on diagnosis. Rather than telling me to «stay off of something and rest» like most doctors do (which is code for I don’t know what’s wrong and can’t fix it so just stop using whatever hurts), she treated me and encouraged me to continue exercising (even if I needed to temporarily scale back). Continuing to exercise turned out to be an important part of the healing process in my case and she helped me avoid unnecessary surgery. Magic.
My husband has also seen Dr. Rikke with similar successful results.
Dr. Rikke is THE best in her field.

I have seen both Dr Silvas and Dr Toal — both are absolutely fantastic chiropractors. I’ve suffered shoulder, neck, and back problem for many years, and my pain has been drastically reduced by visiting Health Logic on a regular basis. I have also been taught ways in which I can self-​improve.
I have seen many chiropractors in my life, and without a doubt these guys are the best. It’s not any one thing that makes them the best, but rather their whole approach to adjustments. This is not your typical whack-​em and crack-​em establishment. It is half massage and half chiropractic. I find that the deep tissue massage helps relax my muscles, and makes the actual adjustment more beneficial.
For what it’s worth, I’ve sent 3 people here on referrals because I like them so much.

Dr. Mike Silvas is the mannnnnn. Helped my sprained ankle recover very nicely. Sure, the process of it HURT, but no pain, no gain, right? He also invited me back to dance for a performance. I still get birthday cards, etc. from his office in the mail. Love it! Very good at relationship building.

he is a great guy and extremely knowledgeable! not only does he explain to me what is causing my shoulder pains, but also gives me exercises to help rehab it.
he isn’t about taking your money either, even though i have seen him about 5 times, he has said that it might be time to look into other methods. He is honest and very patient!

I was suffering from a lower back spasm where walking and standing was very difficult. I appreciated how Dr. Randall Toal arranged to take on me as a new patient that same day, then provided care to the lower back spasm, then was able to provide extended electrical therapy to calm the spasming muscles. I went in crooked and spasmed, and walked out more comfortable, and with a sense of a strategy. I am by no means cured. There will be more sessions, but half the cure is believing you have a articulate course of treatment, and that was offered today.

After several visits with Dr. Toal at Health Logic, I feel compelled to sing his praises! He is both professional and personable. I felt very much at ease right from the start discussing my aches and pains with him. Above all, he is an amazing chiropractor, combining deep tissue massage and stretching with the adjustments. What a huge difference this makes! I’ve learned that (at least in my case) it is the layers of tight and shortened muscles that are pulling my posture out of whack and causing all kinds of mild to moderate aches and pains. At every visit he has taken the time to really work into the deep tissues, slowly making them a bit more malleable and adjusting my spine along the way. He communicates what and why he is doing and what you can expect to feel throughout the treatment. I get up from the table feeling dramatically better every time. During my most recent visit he got into my curved upper back and I literally can’t remember feeling so liberated… it’s as if I’ve removed a straitjacket.
In addition to all this, he has given me some very effective stretches that help me continue feeling great for longer periods. I honestly feel like he is a trusted partner in my pursuit for improved health and well-​being. It’s been left entirely up to me as to how often I make appointments. Because his treatments have been so effective in improving my health, I plan to continue seeing Dr. Toal regularly.

In years past I have tried chiropractors to resolve some nagging shoulder and mid back pain from sports. It was not nearly enough to seek medical services but distracting when playing sports. After multiple visits I felt no better with the chiropractors I have tried in the past.
Enter Dr. Silvas
Dr. Silvas is personable, fit, and practices what he preaches. He is exceptional in how he explains why he is doing the various therapies, how they will help, and what you can do to strengthen yourself to reduce the strain on your problem area.
I can not recommend him enough!

Dr. Angelique Waite was a really great chiropractor!
She really made me feel comfortable and cared for and really identified the problems in my body and used a gentle but firm touch with her active release techniques. She took the time to make me feel like her treatment for me was catered to my needs and I felt much better after my visit.
She even followed up later in the day to remind me to ice my back!

Let me start by saying that I was referred by Dr. Rikke by a former colleague who is an avid athlete and works as a Wellness representative. You can’t get a stronger recommendation than that!
Dr. Rikke is amazing and has awesome beside manner. She is straight forward and to the point, but in a very friendly way. My back was acting up after being fine for a while, so I had an appointment yesterday after not seeing her in 2 – 3 years. Although she didn’t remember me, it almost seemed like she had. She also easily figured out what was wrong with my wrist and back and gave me advice on how to help with the pain and improve my health. She made me so comfortable in that office that working on my back was insanely easy for me. (I get a little nervous with the whole back cracking and such.)

She is not the type of chiropractor that will say you need to see her on a regular basis, just so she can make some money. She looks out for your overall well being. In my humble opinion, there isn’t a better chiropractor out there.

10 years ago a friend of mine discovered Dr. Rikke. She specializes in athletes and her sole goal is to give her patients mobility.
The minute I met her I knew I’d landed in the right place. Calm, confident and with a supportive no-​nonsense demeanor, Rikke quickly figured out what was wrong with my back (there were many things) and then on the first visit, she fixed me. There was no pressure to set an appointment schedule, or even to come back. But I did come back.
I have had back troubles for nearly 20 years but for the last 10 I’ve finally found someone who can fix me. Rikke is the one who finally explained that my back is too mobile, that if I twist it too hard, or the wrong way, my vertebrae can get stuck. This is not good, and when it happens the only thing to do is move the bones back where they belong.
A few months ago I was chasing my five year old daughter in the park. I never run and I shouldn’t have run that day. But there was no way I could let my daughter run away from me, so I ran. And promptly rotated my hip.
I let it go for a couple of weeks thinking I had pulled a muscle, but then it didn’t get better. And then my middle back locked up. And then my neck kinked. And that was the final straw.
Whenever this happens, which is a couple of times a year, I call Rikke for a tuneup. I walk in, we talk about what’s going on and she gets to work. Wrists, elbows, ankles, lower back, middle back, upper back, neck. Crack. Crack. Crack. It hurts a little, but not a lot. By the time she’s done I am literally a new woman. I can move again.

Dr Angelique Waite is a master at her craft!!! I had issues with my sciatic nerve that I was not able to get any relief from until I came to see her!!!
I appreciate her straightforword, professional attitude and the fact that she was able to help take care of my pain!!!

Dr. Rikke is a thorough chiropractor that really gives you great overall care. She works to keep your body active and strong. She can give you great tips on how to strengthen weak spots so your whole body works together as it should. She is also very caring, and that totally shows in her work. She does so much more than just crack your bones!

Dr. Mike is awesome. I’ve always had trouble with low back pain, and as a dancesport athlete, posture and spine alignment is so important. He’s really warm, friendly and really caring. Each time I get my homework of stretches and excercises to do. He focuses not only on the joints but also on the muscle and soft tissue surrounding those out of place joints. Even when I was battling my other medical ailments (food allergies) he showed concern about my non spinal ailments and had recommendations when my allergist wasn’t helpful at all. He even came to watch me compete at one of my dance competitions to see exactly what I put my body through. Now my whole family and my husband goes to see him. An unfortunate car accident caused a bit of bumps and bruises. I wouldn’t trust my family’s care to anyone else.

Love Dr. Rikke! She really helped me with my hip issues and helped me run again. She is an athlete herself so she understands the athletic body and what it goes through. The exercises and advice she gave me where helpful.

Dr. Mike Silvas is the best. I had always been afraid of chiros, but my shoulder had been bothering me for years because of volleyball so I finally decided to suck it up and go in for a (free) consultation. Dr. Mike specializes in Sport and Spine using the Graston technique.
He was very good at explaining to me (in words I could understand) what was going on with my shoulder and why I was experiencing pain. He believes in working with his patients to eliminate the problem and to take steps to strengthen what you want your body to do versus eliminating the activity all together.
Because Mike also plays volleyball and other sports activities he has a good understanding of what the body’s muscles are doing and why they may be causing pain. He really takes the time to get your body back in alignment and gives you reminders on how to stay that way.
From what I understand a lot of chiros bring you in, adjust you and then that’s it. You won’t have that feeling when visiting Health Logic.
