We sell the only lice comb that works, as well as all-​natural products to remove, treat, and prevent lice whether it’s on the head or in the home. If you choose to treat your children yourself, we’ll teach you how to comb and give you guidelines for treating your home as well.

I founded Honeycombers after I found lice on my four little girls on Christmas Eve. They were totally infested, and I had idea what to do. I tried the home remedies I had seen on the web, and I was clueless about if they worked or not. I took the girls to a local lice salon. The place was dirty and disorganized, and I had a bad experience there. I wanted to create a place where frazzled parents and kids dealing with a lice outbreak could have a calming, safe, effective and reassuring experience. I worked on Honeycombers for a whole year before we opened to make sure that every parent and every child would have a great experience with us. I’m so thrilled that the vision has finally come to life. Please let me know what you think of our salon and our products. There are more effective, cheaper and less time consuming ways to remove lice.
I have been to this place three times and now understand this. I am a mother of four and our family has had four rounds of lice in the last 10 years. We have tried the Cetaphil treatment (good), AirAlle (excellent) and Honeycombers (meh). The Cetaphil treatment is the cheapest, but you have to be diligent about following the directions exactly and it can be tough to execute on thick, long hair. Honeycombers is by far the most expensive as you pay by the minute for lovely ladies to comb through your hair. They do not kill the eggs — just attempt to comb each and every one out. If they miss even one, it may hatch and you are at square one. I was in the first time and they combed my shoulder length hair for two hours ($ 225). They asked me to return a week later for a check, which revealed four eggs they previously missed. ($ 100). They asked me to return again and said it’s common to have to return three or four times. What? This is crazy and expensive. The Air Alle treatment actually works (I know from the last time lice ran through our household after a summer camp infestation) and it works after ONE VISIT. True.
Honeycombers is clean, in central Menlo Park, and the ladies are lovely. But their business model works for them and less so for the consumer.

I’m really disappointed by my experience here. I make an appointment for my daughter and brought her in. I asked the comber about the cost, and she said it was $ 100. I asked if this was broken down into 15 minute increments (like it says on the website), and she said no, it was just $ 100. The treatment took only about 15 minutes. We were charged $ 75, which confused me but I thought maybe there is a minimum charge of $ 75, not $ 100, and I missed some fine print somewhere. (Also, the receipt indicates that a tip is expected, which I gave, but was not expecting.) When I got home I took a closer look at the receipt, and it says Duration: 45 minutes. I don’t understand why we were charged for 45 minutes when it took only 15 minutes. And I wonder whether you can really do an effective job combing for lice in 15 minutes, especially when their website says «Sessions typically require 1 – 2 hours (per customer) of diligent product application, combing and inspection.» I expected to be there a lot longer, especially given that the comber did find nits and small lice, and my daughter’s hair is a bit past her shoulders. I emailed the owner whose email is on their website. She did not respond. The next day, I sent an email to the general info email, copying the owner. Again no response. I waited two more days and now I’m posting this review. In the meantime, we got the supermarket stuff and combed my daughter’s hair, because she said it was still itching, and got a few more lice out. We’ve done this before, but our daughter’s hair is longer than it used to be so I thought Honeycombers was the way to go based on reviews. Save your money, you can do just as well at home.

Lice. Dealing with them is such a pain, especially when your children get them and then gift it to you– well, not me– my wife! She has curly hair and we collectively decided we are not going to attempt a home treatment of RID, because I’m blind and can’t see ANYTHING!
We called up Honeycombers and we were able to make a next day appointment! Whew! Their facility is spic and span clean, their employees are super nice and they explain each step as they go through your hair searching for those pests… and the products they use are non-​toxic and have natural ingredients!
Bonus: They have Wi-​Fi, flat screen TV’s with access to Netflix… it’s the real deal here.

I discovered our first case of lice in our kids today, and felt totally overwhelmed. Luckily, a friend of mine recommended Honeycombers! We got an appointment an hour later and left with our heads in great condition, very thorough information for cleaning the house, and a lot of advice on how to prevent the problem from recurring. All employees were extremely friendly from the phone contact to the in-​store experience. We’ll go back for the follow-​up next week, and I hope that’s the last we see of the lice.
The store is extraordinarily clean, very organized and tidy, and gives off an altogether positive vibe, something I needed in a stressful situation. I’ll recommend this business to anyone!

Fast and friendly, with a welcoming décor. Melissa and her team can instantly turn around the far-​too-​frequent nightmare of school related head lice, and you will be stunned how cheap and quick it is! My 3-​year-​old keeps asking to go back (yikes) because she had so much fun. Highly recommended!

My kids were complaining that their heads were itching, and I kept checking and checking but couldn’t find anything. Finally, I walked into Honeycombers with the idea that they could just confirm that my kids were lice-​free… oops! Turns out they had lice and nits that I hadn’t been able to spot. Melissa spent as much time as was needed to get the job done, and gave lots of great advice as well. The atmosphere is pleasant and kid-​friendly, and the service was exceptional. Needless to say, nobody ever wants to go to a lice-​removal salon, but if you have to go, Honeycombers makes it as painless as possible.

Honeycombers is god-​sent and Melissa is wonderful. I had to rush my daughter for lice treatment as I got a call from her school saying that she has lice in her head. Melissa not only took her in last minute, screened and treated her hair for atleast 1hour but since she could not find many nits charged me only $ 35 instead of $ 95. Next day my daughter’s school said she still had one egg and Melissa took her in again and spent another hour trying to battle the difficult lice. This time again she charged me nothing, gave me a lot of advice on what I could do at home and even let me boroow her magnifying glass. She is extremely professional and thorough! Thankyou Melissa.

My daughter worked all year with lice-​ridden children in another country. When she came home for Christmas and again this week, I was able to book appointments at Honeycombers so we could stop there immediately after she got off the plane, ensuring no critters would make it to our home. Even late on a holiday evening (with my promise of a great tip), they were willing to book us an appointment ahead of time. Honeycombers does a wet hair lice check, which is much more thorough (45 minutes to comb through my daughter’s long hair) than most other places that just look through dry hair. If the gals at Honeycombers find lice, they will offer to either treat it there, or they will tell you how to treat it at home. Then you return for subsequent lice checks until you can be confident it is all gone. Fortunately for us, my daughter was lice-​free both times, and we were able to head home without worry. Jackie and Jennifer each took care of us, and couldn’t have been nicer or more professional. Each room is spacious and comfortable, with room for a parent and sibling to sit and watch the process (and a tv is in each room, also). These gals successfully turn an experience which could feel scary and overwhelming into one that is manageable and comforting.

Great place with friendly and professional staff! I tried to do home remedies but it only worked for the big lice. It may seem that Honey combers is pricey but you can’t put a price on someone taking the time and effort to thoroughly check your child’s head to make sure they’ve rid the head of lice! They offer TVs with Netflix, snacks and drinks… Great place to come get rid of those pests!

When/​if you have the misfortune of dealing with lice go straight to Honeycombers and don’t even waste your time, money or energy with the toxic store bought remedies. They are nice, knowledgable and most importantly with rid you, your children, etc. of lice and educate you on lice prevention with a line of natural products to support that effort. Worth every penny!

My daughters came home from school with lice. I have been treating our family and I think our process is working, but I was concerned that my husband didn’t really know what he was looking for or doing when he was checking my head. After a week of «psychological» itching, I decided to leave my own head-​check (and treatment if necessary) to the professionals. I was relieved when, after a very thorough check and comb through, I was deemed totally lice-​free! I guess my husband was right. Needless to say I was relieved, and so appreciative of the time they took to check me… and their honesty in saying I didn’t require treatment.
I liked the way their chemical-​free treatment system worked better than what we are currently using, so I decided to buy their treatment products for follow-​up treatments for my daughters, and an extra to keep on hand in case there is a next-​time. I also know that if we are faced with this problem again in the future, and I am crunched for time, I can show up with the whole family and have us all taken care of in a short time.
I have already recommended this company to our school, in hopes that they will have them come and check all heads, so we don’t get it again any time soon!

It’s all true. They know what they’re doing. Clean facility. TV entertainment for the kids. Friendly people. Family of 4 screened and 3 with bugs cost $ 600. I would have given 5 stars if not for the expense, particularly the follow-​up appointments at $ 95/​each — the same as the first appointment.

Love their products and service. Extremely attentive, gentle, and thorough. I’ve been to other lice salons in the area and nothing comes close to the quality of product and service and commitment to getting the lice out. Their products are all natural, and they ensure everything is extremely clean. Definitely feel like you are getting the best there is to offer — from the products used to the service provided. It is a lifesaver having this type of service when someone from the family gets lice.

The last thing I wanted to do on my Monday night was spend hours bent over a bathtub combing lice out of my three sons’ hair. I was delighted to hear a place like Honeycombers existed and they were able to take us an hour after we called. The manager, Runa, stayed late to get everyone done that night.
I have trauma from my own childhood experiences with lice so it was quite a shock to see my sons happily munching on snacks and playing video games while getting de-​BUGGED. That alone is worth the cost.

Honeycombers = professional, clean, pleasant… even arty (believe it or not).
My daughter and I went in and were taken care of by Runa. What a wonderful, empathetic woman. Lice is just not an actual physical problem (something that needs to be removed); it is an emotional and psychological burden. Lice puts immense strain on the family, especially mom. Having people that are compassionate and understanding is a integral part of getting rid of lice.
Perhaps fun and whimsical should not be words used to describe a salon that treats lice, but these words fit. The individual rooms remind me of playhouses. Very welcoming. I was impressed with the thoughtful nail and string art greeting you as you walked in the door.
Truth be told, Honeycombers is not cheap. The reality is, if you and your family have lice you can’t be cheap. You need to deal with the problem.
This is a great business. If you unfortunately are dealing with lice, at least working with Honeycombers might make the journey more bearable.

As a working mother of two, my schedule is packed! Its no wonder that I panicked when we found lice on both kids heads!
I looked up Unilocal and found Honeycombers. I called them and asked many questions. Runa was very helpful and patiently answered all my questions. She was very knowledgeable.
I was pleasantly surprised when I walked in. This place looks like a high end salon! I had to look a couple times to make sure I was walking into the right place. This is our first lice outbreak so I wasn’t sure what to expect from a lice treatment salon!
The facilities are brand new, super clean and well organized. The kids were nicely settled into their chairs with their favorite PBS kids show.
The lice check is free so I thought it would only take a few mins. But they (Christy and Runa) did a thorough job and used all natural products. It was only after we had confirmed that they recommended the treatment! Kids were totally at ease and didn’t complain once!
This place is wonderful! I would highly recommend it. I am not a regular Unilocal reviewer but I wanted to take the time to put in a review because I was very pleasantly delighted by this lovely local business.
Who would have thought so much planning and thought would go into a lice treatment salon. This place is truly AWESOME!

A clean, well lighted place to come when you are freaking out about your kids lice issue! They’re kind, considerate, thoughtful, gentle and they even have private treatment rooms. Honeycombers takes the «icky» out of the whole lice process. I live in the East Bay but it was well worth the journey. I’d recommend them to anyone!

While packing to return home from vacation I noticed that the kids were itching their heads and I figured we needed to get them checked for lice. I got a recommendation to try Honeycombers from a friend so I called them from the airport before going through security. They were able to take us – the whole family — for an appointment the next day.
The staff at Honeycombers is so awesome. They immediately put all the kids at ease. The kids really enjoyed being able to pick shows to watch on the big screen TVs available in each salon area. My 4 year old typically cries when she goes to get her hair cut, but she was happy and distracted the whole time.
The salon is very clean and beautifully decorated. My 8 year old particularly liked the American Girl dolls placed around the salon.
After 3 visits and a lot of laundry we were all lice free. We also bought some shampoo and other products through Honeycombers that we hope will keep us lice free. But we will definitely be back if those critters come back.
