Established in 2006.

Kris and Mark Mendeszoon started Achilles Running Shop in 2006 at the original store in Mentor, OH. What started as a hobby has flourished into a full time business with current stores in Mentor and Erie, PA.

Business Owner

Kris and Mark Mendeszoon started Achilles Running Shop in 2006 at the original store in Mentor, OH. What started as a hobby has flourished into a full time business with current stores in Mentor and Erie, PA.

Kris and Mark have always had a strong passion for sports with Kris being a state qualifier in gymnastics and a regional qualifier in track and field at Orange High School. Kris received her Bachelors and Masters degree from West Virginia University. Mark has been involved in track and field for over thirty five years. He has competed at the Junior Olympic, high school, college and post-​collegiate levels. He received an athletic scholarship for track at Miami University (Ohio) and competed in the 400 hurdles, relays, and 800 meters.

He started his coaching career while in graduate school at Stony Brook University on Long Island, New York. At Stony Brook, he was responsible for working with the sprinters, hurdlers, and jumpers.
