Scents include Bay Winds, Rain Forest, Vanilla, Freesia, Lavender, and Tropical Sun. Holiday fragrances like Christmas Tree, Cinnamon Rush, Butter Rum and Bayberry.

Drink candle styles include Martini gel candles, Wine glass gel candles and Champagne Glass gel candles. Popular scents for our drink candles include citrus blast, chardonnay and champagne.

Scented gel candles are not overpowering and unlike wax candles, gel candles glow from within and light up throughout and rather than just a sticker on a jar, our oceanscapes look beautiful at any time.

All Gellite gel candles are handmade in the USA in Mentor Ohio using the finest ingredients available. Gel Candles offer burn times 3 to 5 times longer than wax candles and are scented throughout to offer you great fragrances for the entire life of the candle.

History

Established in 2001.

Gellite Candles started in 2001 as a simple thought. The founder, Laura Leuty, purchased a small gel candle that had a simple seascape design. It was an attractive candle, but it really didn’t burn very well.

Later that year, she bought a gel candle kit from a local craft store for her 5 year old daughter. They worked on it together and after they had finished, her daughter turned to her and said, «We should start a business making gel candles.» Laura had always wanted to find some kind of product that she could make at home and sell through local craft shows and church bazaars and gel candles looked like they would work out perfectly.

She struck a match and Gellite began experimenting with various designs for gel candles and learned the best and safest ways how to make a gel candle. After long hours and hundreds of pounds of fragrance oils that didn’t work, they worked out the process so that today, Gellite Gel Candles are the finest on the market.

Laura Leuty is the founder and owner of Gellite Candles Corp. She has been crafting since she was a child and owning a candle company and crafting professionally is a dream come true. She loves to share her experience with young entrepreneurs in a local college class and shows the students the real pros and cons of owning your own business.
