History

Established in 2011.

So why the name «Skye» ?

You may or may not know — The Kneen Family has been a part of the Mentor Community since the early 50’s.

Traveline was the original business where our pub is now and is still going strong — just at another location. Nancy and Rob Kneen built Lawnfield Inn & Suites over ten years ago and as the hotel grew, many of our clients asked for a restaurant and pub. So… we listened and now we have Skye.

The Isle of Skye is the family home of the MacLeod’s the forebears of the Mentor Kneen Clan. Arline Kneen, now 96 and still very active in the family business, mother was a MacLeod. «After many trips to Skye and Dunvegan Castle, we thought it would be fun to bring into the family businesses the touch of our Scottish heritage» she says.

When coming into our pub or restaurant we’ll be happy to regale you with other little known facts of the Isle of Skye.
