I really love to volunteer and one way I do is donating blood. I am also a poor college student so the rewards they offer are pretty sweet. When I went to donate it was very fast as soon as I walked in I was getting my temp taken and blood pressure checked. The woman who was taking my blood was named shorty and explained to me platelets and how to donate them. I felt so comfortable and informed that I decided to do platelets next time. After I was done you get an entire kitchen of snakes to yourself and chill and watch tv for awhile which is almost my favorite part.

I have been donating platelets off and on for a few years now. The staff ate exceptional and very skilled in what they do. They take the time to help you understand the whole process of donating and even what happens with your donation. During the process of donating they are constantly checking on you. After the donation process is complete you are asked to say a short time for observation. Your safety is their main concern. While waiting you have a wide choice of refreshments. If you have never donated before, the staff will do their best to make you feel as comfortable as possible.
