Cal Storage

Got my unit about three days ago promised all access 24 hour access they said. Because I’m a business owner. So I can store my material there. Went there today at 10 o’clock no access. They charge me an extra $ 30 to start moving in immediately. I should have waited until the first to save the 30. Went there on Christmas Eve promised me 24 hour access came back about an hour later. And they ran me out they said they were closed Christmas eve through Christmas.

Super friendly staff, they could teach some customer service departments at other companies a thing or two about how to treat people the right way! I’ve rented from Cal Storage for years and have always felt safe and comfortable there. It’s nice to have the ability to rent Penske trucks there as well. Overall a great experience on a regular basis.

I rented from CalStorage and immediately had issues of them charging my card inappropriately (they refunded eventually). And issues with their contact points being invalid. A year later, as I resided in Asia, I had my son drive from Seattle to pull items out of storage. He arrived to find their gate area gridlocked with other angry customers. Apparently calstorage had simply decided not to open that day. My son finally got the owner to come out and very politely informed him that he had driven through from Seattle, that he had scheduled movers, and that his entire schedule depended upon his being able to access the locker. He said, «Can’t you please help me out here?» The owner replied, verbatim (note the quotes), «I COULD help you out, but I WONT help you out.» The owner then smirked, and chuckled, and walked away. The following day, after having to pay the movers a second time, and after renting a hotel, and after forcing his wife to miss a day of work, the decision was made to take everything out of the locker as an emergency measure because we needed to have reliable access to our own belongings. As the locker was being cleared the owner brought out a lawn chair a perched it adjacent to the locker and sat there and smiled during most of the process. I later demanded a refund of my deposit and unused rent monies. No reply or refund was ever forthcoming. If these are the kind of people you want to entrust your goods to, be our guest. But do so at your peril. I have nothing but disgust and contempt for this mentality. That is my opinion. Learn more by searching Google.

Multiple issues with the people who run this place. They mysteriously stopped answering emails. Went in person to talk to them. Oh our email address changed. Thanks for letting everyone know.
Next time, drove 1000 miles to get our belongings, not only was their office closed, but they decided to close all access. So we are stuck in Merced for another day. Will they open tomorrow? Who knows. When they don’t want to answer the phone they take it off the hook and its just a busy signal, for hours. Nice folks. NEVER AGAIN. Please save yourself and don’t trust them with your precious belongings.

I have used cal storage for several years now. I have never had any problems and everyone is so nice. I feel comfortable there and I know my things are kept safe. Thanks cal storage!

Cal storage ive been with them for about 5 months now and i never have any issues i was with them several years ago under different management and it was jus as gud of service then as i get now i feel really good about haven my personal belongings stored away there. its a good storege with very reasonable prices and great deaLs plus to top it off they have truck rentals right there so u can kill 2 birds with one stone so to say you know rent a storage space and a truck to move your personnal belongings all in one place plus the staff that run it are very friendly welcoming people… CAL STORAGE LOVE IT…

Great staff. Clean facility. Just wish they would allow payments in the middle of the month, I’m always getting late fees because I can’t pay until the second week of the month.

I had stopped in to check into renting a moving truck (this being a Penske affiliate) & Kevin was very helpful & accomidating when I asked to check the truck out for the cab size (being as i’m not the average size guy & had to make sure I was going to be able to drive it). Unfortunatly, I wasn’t able to reserve a truck do the said cab size, but I appreciate the kind & helpfull service!
