Merced Smog Center

I had a great experience at Merced Smog earlier today. Let me start by saying that I’m very picky. The first thing I noticed is that the business is exceptionally clean. The people were very friendly and took care of me quickly and professionally. It took no more than 15 minutes to smog my 2001 BMW Z3. I would highly recommend Merced Smog to anyone who needs a fast, clean and inexpensive smog test.

The idiot (some chubby dude) who did my smog parks my truck in front of the waiting room door, gets out, and lets my registration FLY OUT into the street. Instead of keeping an eye on it to determine where it landed, he turns around and goes back to work. I go to retrieve my paperwork and in he comes in and says my registration flew down the street. I said, «Get it!» He said he didn’t want to die for a piece of paper. I told him, «I want you to get my piece of paper, and not die!» He stated he will, after he took care of all his other customers. What a FRICKEN LOSER!
Never again will I take my care here. If that’s his version of customer service, then it starts at the top and reflects on the owner. The owner is now responsible for this LOSER’s poor etiquette.

I drove two hours from the mountains to get a smog. I went to smileys and they said it was impossible to smog my car because of an air intake housing and that I would have to take it off and come back. I came here and they were amazing! The guy came out and immediately disagreed and made me feel comfortable. He said it would be no problem and gave me the coupon price. Out within 10 minutes. Excellent service and knowledge.

This smog center smogs your cars. Nothing special or fancy, but they do get the job done relatively quickly. I paid $ 60 to get my Corolla’s smog check.

I got my smog done. How can I think this was cool? If it passes I’m fine. If not… I shoot a bunch of kittens and feed them to kids during Sunday school. It passed. Kids got lucky this time!
Cost was 58 dollars… is that a lot? I don’t know, every 2 or 3 yrs… who cares.

I live outside of Merced and found them in the phonebook along w/​a $ 10 yellowpage coupon. As I was headed there to get my truck smogged, it actuall started cutting out just outsid of town. I was going to turn around and head for home but decided to go for it since it was still running but my «service engine» light came on. When I pulled up, I was greeted by one of the owners. He could tell I was upset and I told him what had happened. He told me they would hook it up to their computer and see what obd codes were showing up. He told me that because of the code, it could not be smogged but was very helpful in explaining the issues and refered me to a shop just down the street. He would not accept any reimbursment from me for the use of his equipment or the time he took looking under my hood! My truck is in the shop now but soon as it’s fixed, I’m giving my them my business. Very kind and compassionate!
