We have over 3000 gallons of live seafood tanks display some of the northwest best live seafood stock ranging from Crab, Lobster, Prawns, Oysters and other shellfish.

History

Established in 2010.

Freshy’s Seafood ‘spawned’ of Chinook Seafood’s, a family owned and run wholesale seafood business whose focus was solely on the local fisherman and families of the Ilwaco and Willapa Bay area. Freshy’s adopts these same principals to all its seafood offerings. Freshy’s is truly the Local Fisherman’s Market.

Bryce was born and raised in Ilwaco Washington with a fishing pole in his hands. Ilwaco with the Columbia River to the south and the Pacific Ocean to the west is a fishing Mecca. Bryce uses his many fishing connections to stock Freshy’s 7 days a week with the freshest sustainable seafood you can find.

Well this sucks. This used to be one of the best little gems out there for fish and chips and I have recommended it to quiet a few people but unfortunately I just had my last visit. The quality has gone down a tad but the biggest surprise was what they did to the portion sizes and prices. I understand that the cost of everything goes up over time and I dine out at least 4 times a week but the dramatic cut in portion and the increase in price are definitely not justified by industry standard.

Some of the best seafood around Seattle.
The chowder is fresh and made daily and real competition for Pike’s. I like going here for taco Tuesday, the tacos are much cleaner then other fish taco places as they use grilled fish.
The fish chips are generous and aren’t overly greasy like most places. You can actually taste the fish and not just grease. The fries are well executed and very crispy.
The service is quick, friendly and very enthusiastic about their food.
I think the location and ambiance is unique and hilarious. It’s in a converted 76 gas station, complete with the 76 sign still in tact. Don’t let the appearance fool you though, this seafood is the real deal.

My favorite fish & chips spot in the Seattle area, definitely worth stopping by!
The cod and halibut are both great, with a good serving of fries you can easily split the 2 piece with 2 people.
Fish is flaky, white, and fresh.
Atmosphere is very relaxed on a slow corner of Mercer Island — options to eat inside or out.

Awesome employees and great food. French fries are a little lackluster and the prices are high (MI tax and then some), but I will keep going back for the tacos, Po’boys, and chowder!

First time to try this place. It looks like an old gas station and customers are sitting outside casually like picnic.
There was a menu on the wall and we placed an order at window. I found out a 15% off coupon on Unilocal when I checked in. My hubby didn’t hear what I said and gave the staff credit card. I said to the staff and she told me it was too late so I can save it for next time. Later on, my hubby went to check on our order but it wasn’t ours, the staff just gave him a look.
For the food, we ordered fish platter and Cole Slaw. The seafood was crispy but not greasy; however, the slaw was bland. Not sure if they want to balance the calories between the entrees and sides. It would be nice to have some lemon wedges for the fish but that might be my preference.
It was definitely not pleasant customer service so I wouldn’t go far out of my way when lots of competition out there.

Go for the food, Not the décor. They offered perfectly cooked halibut, which is sometimes hard to find. The cod is also good, but upgrade to the halibut if you can. The converted gas station is fun, and we enjoyed mooring our dog to a marine horn cleat near one of the picnic tables.

Low key fish market with a dank hot food section. They do sandwiches, tacos (specials on tuesdays!), chowder, and fried fish type stuff. It’s all pretty fresh and delicious, and they didn’t bother to tear down the old gas station structures bc the place isn’t fancy or pretentious. There’s some simple seating inside and a picnic table outside. Does Mercer Island offer anything better? I’m guessing no.

2 $ taco Tuesday’s! Came in for taco Tuesday and was very impressed. Fresh and flavorful tacos, generously loaded with fillings, and at a price of 6 bucks. I definitely will come back.

Undercooked fish from my fish and chips order. Been here several times and not sure what’s so special about it. I guess here on the island we have limited dining options so not much to compete with. I could name several similar establishments in Seattle that have better quality and are much more hospitable.

I have had the rock fish tacos several times with ginger ale. i like fish a lot if you are searching for a place that makes a variety of quality fish tacos will lots of different sauce to chose from then this is the place.
Ps. This is also a great family place with a wonderful calm atmosphere to watch the sea hawks games with a large screen tv. i am pretty sure that they serve beer the popular ones but importantly it is a totally different calm pleasant family friendly vibe as apposed to a bar it is pretty good the tacos + pleasant calm atmosphere= 5 stars easy. My practical advise would be to get there early order 4to five tacos sampler option’s and enjoy at a calm pace with the play off game’s.

I ordered the 4pc cod fish n chips.
First. I’ve never seen so much fish as ONE serving. Great portions. Fantastic deal.
Second. The cod was tender, flaky, moist and succulent. The outer batter was light and crisp. Together, it was the best bite of fried fish I ever had in my life. It’s like the universe just shifted and I’m enlightened. SO GOOD.
THIS IS my new fish joint. Ivars is good. But this place is amazing. Definitely coming back.

I have been many times and this place is consistently great! Nothing like it on the rock or East. Everything is so good and I love picking up fresh seafood or smoked black cod or salmon when I stop to get a bite. This place truly makes me a happy man.

I just moved to the island and this was the first food place we went. You have to love the atmosphere of the old gas station, let alone the food.
I have enjoyed a mix of their offerings ranging from the Freshies’ platter, the Po’ Boys, and their homemade fish stew. In addition to the fish, the French fries are tremendous — made like classic Belgian frites. All of the food has been priced extremely reasonable and very much so for being on Mercer.
I haven’t tried anything from inside the market but look forward to doing so soon.

well, it’s a stand in an old gas station! i was not too sure what to expect. The food was good but i ended up spending ~$ 40 here (not quite what i expected at a food stand). What expensive to me was the clam appetizer. Well, $ 10 doesn’t seem a lot but the portion was pretty small. It’s more of a restaurant price rather than a food stand price. I also had cod fish & chips. It was tasty: well fried and fries are good too (floured). This place is definitely my #1 pick when visiting mercer island.

Found this place on Unilocal looking for great food in the area and was impressed with how much food you get. We got a cup of the razor clam chowder and a four piece with cod fish and chips. After checking in on Unilocal to receive the check in offer, it came out to $ 15! You get so much food for your money! It was perfect for my mom and I to split-​actually a little too much food. The fish was lightly battered-​mostly fish, not breading, thank goodness. And the fries and the fish were super crunchy yummy. Ive never had razor clams and thought it didn’t taste any different from regular clams but the clam chowder was really great. I haven’t found good clam chowder back at home so it was such a treat to have something I can’t get in Hawaii. The venue is super cool; an old gas station upcycled with a fish market and the window to order meals. I’m really glad I found this place while we were on Mercer Island

Get the FISH N CHIPS! Get the FISH N CHIPS! Just get them! I’m from Nor-​Cal and I love the fish and chips from The Codmother Fish and Chips located in San Francisco’s Fisherman’s Wharf.
The fish and chips here are comparable to the ones in San Francisco! The only thing different in my opinion is the batter color but other than that it’s absolutely delicious and tastes very similar!
