8 o’clock on a Tuesday night seven-year-old gets out of the shower covered in hives and of course he’s itching. I drive the half-mile down to Walgreens ask a lady upfront and she’s clueless but thankfully they have an on staff pharmacist. Steve asked a few questions made a recommendation said pills or liquid then we went with the liquid and got it and I was in and out in about three minutes! Thanks Walgreens!

Wow. Shame on Walgreens for hiring the most miserable human beings on this planet. If that’s what you were going for, then congrats. There is one lady who works in the cosmetic area and she’s very nice but the rest you’d think we’re on death row facing execution after the store closes. Guy who just rang me literally said NOTHING to me. Not hi, not bye, NOTHING. Oh actually he did grunt … So there’s that. I understand retail can be hard — I worked it for 4 years, so I feel your pain buddy but good lord at least say«hi» and maybe«have a good day??» Maybe? I get that we all have bad days but you’re getting paid. If you are having THAT bad of a day, call in sick. Your one job is checking people out and saying hi. And you can’t even do that.

While this Walgreens is conveniently located, some of the pharmacy assistants are extremely unhelpful and rude. I went in with a sinus infection to pick up a prescription that had been emailed about 45 minutes earlier, which she confirmed, and she kept saying it had«just» gotten in. I kindly asked her when it could be filled, and she told me 30 – 40 minutes. I used to fill at various Rite Aids and they ALWAYS fill within 15 minutes if I am in the store. She told me I could wait for the 30 – 40 minutes, although I was visibly and audibly extremely ill. She gave me attitude and was rude. I bought something else and she wouldn’t even talk to me and handed over my receipt without saying anything. I nicely said thank you before leaving, although I would think she’s the one who should be polite to me as the customer. I’ve worked in health care before and you are always supposed to be kind to patients. I’m completely taken aback by this rudeness.

Agree with all the reviews about the terrible customer service of this branch pharmacy. While the branch staff are very friendly and helpful, the pharmacy associates are reluctant to serve customers and their objective is to send them away to other pharmacies. Unfortunately I had to use their services as they are the only pharmacy in the North Island, but I am fed up now after repeatedly sending reminders that subscriptions are ready and you go to pick them, they say we are working on them. When you ask why do you send reminders, they just say: call the 800 number! Vey disappointing.

This is by far, the WORST pharmacy experience of my life. I gave it a try for several months but the service seemed to get worse and worse. They could never fill things on time, would not communicate with me OR my doctor regarding issues with insurance, and caused serious health problems due to their negligence. I will NEVER go here again and if you value your well-being, you shouldn’t either.

The pharmacy at this Walgreens has terrible customer service. They are slow, rude and generally incompetent. Unfortunately it’s the only pharmacy with a drive through on Mercer Island and I have young children, so I use it anyway.

I’ve been coming to this Walgreens for many, many years. I’ve watched it deteriorate — and then be remodeled. It’s a nice, clean, well-stocked Walgreens now. I like that the floor staff have remained pretty darn constant for the past several years. It’s nice to walk into the store and recognize people and have them recognize you. Most folks are fairly helpful and in decent spirits. BUT, this Walgreens has a few issues that need addressing and they’re all related to the PHARMACY… 1) It’s incredible how under-staffed this pharmacy is. Every time I’m in there they are super busy and always look short-staffed. I was curious about this so I asked a manager why they don’t hire more folks — it certainly seems like they can pay them with how crowded/busy they tend to be. The manager’s response was that even though they are very profitable, Corporate is asking them to cut staff members. SERIOUSLY??? This is absolutely absurd. You need to hire more folks, especially for those busy times during the day. 2) This location needs major training for how to run a drive-thru window. No exaggeration… the past FIVE times I’ve been through the drive-through to DROPOFF a prescription it has taken a minimum of 10 – 15 minutes to get through the line… and that’s with only 1 or maybe 2 cars ahead of me. The drive-thru window needs to be reserved for FASTSERVICE. If the patient’s issue is taking longer than 5 minutes they need to ask that person to come into the store or go to the back of the line while they figure the issue out so that they can assist other customers currently in line, who probably just want to drop off a prescription(1 – 2 mins). Aside from the waiting, if you’re the second car in line, you cannot get out — you’re stuck. So if you’re in a rush, come into the drive-thru line to drop a prescription, and get stuck behind some idiot who wants to take 10 – 15 minutes in line, you’re literally SOL. Ridiculous. I’ve talked to the manager several times and they say they ‘understand’ but the situation has not improved. Walgreens needs to either put a sign up that says it’s not a fast/convenient lane, or they need to do a better job of managing their customers who monopolize the time at the drive-thru window. Without question, I’d go to another pharmacy but this one is the only one on the North End of Mercer Island with a drive-thru window… not that it does me any good. Someone needs to slap Corporate upside the head and get them to approve more staff in the pharmacy. Then those staff members need to learn how to properly manage a drive-thru window. Ending on a positive note; there is always enough parking in the lot.

This is a gigantic Walgreens that is very clean and pleasant. There is even a decent sized parking lot out front. It is a pretty standard Walgreens in terms of products offerings. I would definitely get a rewards card here as there are certain deals that must be used with the rewards cards. The Walgreens rewards program however is not that great unless you just so happen to either refill tons of prescriptions and/or buy all the products that fall under the rewards points deals. The products tend to be quite random and/or you have to spend like $ 20 of a brand to get 1000 points. And they have plastic bags here since it’s outside of Seattle limits!

The posted priced tag for an item often is lower than the price rung up at the cash register. But i am giving this store a 4 stars because they have great customer service!

They had a good deal on All Laundry Detergent. In the back they had a bin of Popcorn Indiana All Natural Kettlecorn — Cinnamon & Sugar. Got me one of those. I asked a gal if they had towels. I wanted bathroom towels not beach towels… ugh.

This is my favorite place to buy cigarettes! The staff here are very friendly and remember me and the cigs I want to buy(probably because I come almost everyday!) This Walgreens also has lots of good deals such as $ 36 packs of big flats beer and a huge assortment of off brand candy that is very delicious! The really fat guy there known to me as Reknall is my favorite clerk, he never fails at putting a smile on my face with his whitty jokes. The fat woman though, known as Reknalls mom is a very slow clerk and I regret when I have to buy cigs from her. All in all this is probably the best place to buy cigs in the greater Seattle area and maybe all of WA!

I really would like to see a Bartell Drugs on Mercer Island, but Walgreens will suffice. My first visit to this location was five years ago and it looks the same today. There is a Rite Aid also on the island down the street, but this is a bit more convenient and has a less dingy exterior. As with all Walgreens, there is a foods section that can be good sometimes to pick up random items. I saw some cheap Arizona tea cans and bottles here for $.50 each for example. It is the type of place that you go when you need to pick up odds and ends at fairly reasonable prices. Walgreens may be a bit drab, but predictably dependable.
