History
Established in 2009.
The martial art of Kempo evolves generation to generation. Its a unique system; one of the original «Mixed Martial Arts». «Mixed martial arts», not referring to the widely popular and exciting sport of mixed martial arts, is based on techniques taken from other sports, like boxing and wrestling, combined with different parts of other martial arts styles. This system combines, Karate, kung-fu and Jujutsu: The Karate influence is present in the linear, power oriented techniques. The Kung Fu influence is evident in the circular, blending techniques including the five animal styles. Jiujitsu is reflected in the trapping or hand immobilization, joint manipulations and variety of throws and take-downs intertwined throughout our defensive techniques, allowing for smaller opponents to unbalance, control and take down larger opponents.
This studio opened on 4÷6÷09, and is one of 125+ locations known together as the Z– ultimate self defense studios.

Manager
Started training in Kempo in 1985 in Westborough, Massachusetts and have been studying martial arts ever since.
Attained 1st Degree Black Belt in Kempo in 1992, and 5th Degree Black Belt in 2010.
After graduating from Wesleyan University in Connecticut with a degree in Economics, decided to open my first martial arts school in August of 1993.
Trained in the Kempo system, but also have spent significant time training in other arts as well, including Circular Dragon Fist Kung Fu, Praying Mantis Kung Fu, Wushu, Taekwondo, and Tai Chi.
Have participated in many tournaments as a competitor, as a judge, as a demonstrator, and as an organizer.
Trained well over 1000 students in my career, and of those personally helped more than 150 students to attain their Black Belt (and many of those beyond to 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Degree Black Belt). Several have gone on to become Chief Instructors of their own schools on the East Coast.
