The best chocolate store around. If you are in south jersey it’s worth the trip. The Irish potatoes are the best I have ever had. Plenty of selection. Always fast and friendly service.

Wonderful high quality candy, great gifts and caring staff make this candy store a South Jersey favorite. A family owned store that makes most of their candy. They decorate for all the holidays. Always a great place to shop for others or yourself.

It’s local it’s a small mom and pop operation and everything is handmade. People of South Jersey for enervation a have gone to get their holiday candy or special treats at Aunt Charlottes.
Their bags were always a staple around both the holidays and every special occasion around. I will personally always enjoy having a handmade Easter egg to wake up to every Sunday, and I am proud to get two for my daughters. You can shot your eyes in their store spin around and point at something and I promise it will be amazing. Highly recommended!

Great candy store! My wife grew up in Cherry Hill and this was a five minute drive for her. Now we drive 15 minutes and have for over 30 years. I love the candy and the great staff.

This is a third generation family business that produces excellent chocolate candies of consistently high quality, year in and year out. Located in an historic former hardware and feed store right next to the Merchantville City Hall, they offer a cornucopia of custom chocolates made upstairs, as well as an outstanding assortment of other «penny» candies. This is the real deal — an old fashioned candy story that will make chocoholics swoon as soon as they step inside the beautiful shop filled with candies and other gift items. We have these candies shipped to us in Washington, DC every Christmas, because it just wouldn’t be a holiday without some Aunt Charlottes under the tree. Highly recommended. And oh… while you’re there, cross the street to Vincent’s Pizza to pick up one of their famous Original Tarantini Panzarotti’s, a large, delectable, deep-​fried pizza pocket made to order. The Philadelphia area is the only region where I’ve ever seen a Panzarotti.

They make the BEST Irish Potatoes!!! Greatly appreciated as one of the last real candy stores in the area!

I love the assortment of chocolates, candies, and other confections that they have to offer.
I have been coming here for almost 50 years, and, as always, they outshine all of the other places in the area.
The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and always there to help.
The prices are great, the wide ranging selection is astounding.
The only issue i have is that the place is a madhouse in the holidays and the weeks leading up to it. But, what else could you ask for from such a well known, and well deserved staple of the South Jersey area!?!

95 yr old candy store, yeah they have obviously been doing something right. Great old fashioned store with incredible candies. Service with a smile as well. I’m a chocoholic and this place gave me my fix!

This is the best candy shop ever. My parents grew up in Pennsauken, so I’m lucky enough to have gotten candy from here every year for Christmas and Easter. The peanut butter meltaways are AMAZING. Their chocolate is the best I’ve ever had. Their Easter eggs are perfect — my favorites are the peanut butter and the vanilla fudge. Would recommend this place to anybody!

Aunt Charlotte’s is an old-​fashioned candy shop that makes mass produced candy seem not worth the calories or money. In addition to the plethora of delicious, high quality chocolates and confections, they have s wide variety of gifts for adults and children. It gets crazy around holidays, but the number system expedites service fairly and efficiently. The candy and service makes any wait well worth it!

The best place for holiday candy. It’s a must stop for Easter. Don’t be discouraged with the lines because you’ll be happy with waiting.

If heaven was on earth, it would be Aunt Charlottes! I have been going here my entire life, I have very fond memories going with my grandma as a little girl and getting sandwich mints.
This is the candy store to go to for all holidays! Valentines has the best heart boxes with a huge assortment of different chocolates. St. Patricks Day the Irish potatoes are amazing. Easter you can get chocolate eggs personilized with your name on it! Plus the chocolate bunnies are not hollow like most other places. Halloween they have the best candy apples ever made. Christmas the candy canes are huge and hand made, the licorice is the most unique flavor plus the chocolate Santa’s are delicious.
I enjoy bringing my own children to Aunt Charlottes so they can have fond memories also!

This place is a treat for the senses. A lovely shop that will make you feel like a kid again. I made my first visit to Aunt Charlotte’s this past November to buy my father some chocolates. (He had requested a mix, heavy on the white chocolate.) The store was decorated for Christmas, and had beautiful gifts in all price ranges. Large serving platters with cardinals etc. They put together a nice one pound box for me, and asked which gift wrap I would like. It was wrapped to perfection with a lovely dark, fruited print which was perfect for Thanksgiving. I went back for some Christmas goodies a few weeks later and took my daughter, who is now in love with the place too.

The best! Free gift wrap. Great service. Old-​fashioned shopping experience.

I am one of those women who claims to hate chocolate. Except I don’t, really. I just don’t see myself as the pudgy, curler and pink fuzzy robe/​slipper wearing woman who lays on the couch eating bon-​bons and kvetching about her lazy husband all day. After eating AC’s chocolate, I begin to realize that’s EXACTLY what I am. Simply put, their candies can bring about the most serious of epiphanies.
So the other day during that time of the month, I eschewed my bag ‘o Swedish fish for something a little richer, darker, and more decadent. I conned the lazy fiancé into getting me some bon-​bons as a nice little surprise, to which he (as typical of all half-​assers) promptly suggested I come with and select the sole non-​obligatory token which he hath presented to me this year. I told him I just wanted coconut caramels from Bayard’s, and yet he insisted I tag along to ensure his selection would appease his betrothed. GOOD THING, because Bayard’s does not carry coconut caramels. I learned this after my visit. Oh, and comparatively speaking, they suck. If Bayard’s is like Kohl’s, then Aunt Charlotte’s is like, uhm, Barney’s. Yeah, it’s that good.
So anyway, after inhaling my rather lackluster box of Bayard’s, I of course (as typical of all shrews) was not satisfied. Then I remembered that I had gotten the caramels in Merchantville, not Pennsauken, and the first chance I had, dragged my kid to the wonderland that is Aunt Charlotte’s. Here is what the first box of chocolates I have ever bought myself in my life consisted of (all dark, of course).
For me, Marshmallow Krispies. Coconut Caramels. Coconut Buttercreams. Coconut cups. Vanilla Buttercreams. Chocolate robed vanilla fudge. For the kid, Mint Meltaways. Mint Disks. For the Fiancé, Peanut butter Meltaways.
It was enough to put me on the couch, I tell ya. Straight away.
Oh, and as a nice seasonal treat they had candy apple candy coated homemade marshmallows for a mere $.50 cents (that didn’t make it out of the parking lot) AND XL Caramello’s (that didn’t see the sunset) on a stick that were as good as the near and dear to my heart, Modjeska.
Hands down, the best candy I have ever eaten. And to think I have been driving all the way to OC to Shrivers for a fix. Shame on me.

This is the best candy ever. And if you don’t like candy it’s a wonderful place to visit just to experience the charm of the place. Both of my kids are away at college and a semester wouldn’t be complete if they didn’t receive some goodies from Aunt Charlotte’s. Some of their favorites are the chocolate covered marshmallows on a stick, chocolate covered animal crackers, cell phone shaped chocolate and the chocolate poker chips. It’s not all just chocolate, the pectin pumpkins and leaves are my favorite and my aunt always wants me to bring her the sandwich mints and some licorice. Don’t miss the candy canes at Christmas time they come in different flavors and the sizes range from tiny to huge. They have a terrific variety of stuffed animals from cute fluffy dogs, dinosaurs, frogs and even armadillos. Definitely a place to visit over and over again.

As Easter approaches, I’m reminded of how much I look forward to receiving a box of Aunt Charlotte’s roasted mixed nuts every year. Simply put, they make the best roasted nuts I have ever had, from anywhere.
My sister and mother covet the assorted chocolates, and if that’s your thing, they are likewise rather amazing.
