Charter Trust Company was formed as a New Hampshire Trust Company, chartered by the State of New Hampshire Banking Department. Charter Trust is the largest, locally owned, investment management company in Northern New England. Charter Trust is owned by a partnership of two New Hampshire banks — Lake Sunapee Bank and Meredith Village Savings Bank. Additionally, Charter Trust maintains relationships with several community banks throughout New Hampshire, Maine, and Vermont. Charter Trust deals primarily with clients in the Northern New England area, but has clients throughout the United States and abroad.

Manager

Elizabeth «Bette» Kapp is Senior Vice President and Wealth Advisor of Charter Trust Company. She joined the firm in 2001 and is based in our Meredith NH office.

Ms. Kapp attended Northern Essex Community College in Haverhill, Massachusetts, the University of New Hampshire in Merrimack, and Trident Technical College in Charleston, South Carolina. She is a graduate of the Southeastern Trust School of Campbell University in Buies Creek, North Carolina and of the American Institute of Banking in Bridgeport, Connecticut.

Ms. Kapp’s 25 years experience in banking includes positions at Wachovia Bank, N.A. in Southern Pines, North Carolina, Wachovia Bank of South Carolina, Bank of Boston Connecticut, Union Trust Company in Stamford, Connecticut and Indian Head National Bank in Nashua, New Hampshire.
