I love the food at this restaurant. The food is delicious with a touch of gourmet, and it is consistently good every time we eat here. I gave it four stars because we find their beers to be overpriced for the small glass they provide.

Waited 20 minutes at the bar for service. No one came by. Didn’t even look like anyone was tending the bar area. I saw plenty of wait staff walking around. No one even came up to me to ask if I needed anything. Just wanted coffee and breakfast. May look trendy but you get the trendy attitude as well. Not coming back.

My wife and I came here for brunch. I immediately liked the cool bar atmosphere and that the coffee and pastries are complimentary. The menu is cool and dynamic, hosting a variety of griddle cakes, omelettes, and interesting takes on standard brunch fare. My wife had the «morning in the mission» which is essentially a Mexican style omelette served with a quesadilla. I nearly got it, but went for the chicken and waffles; chicken fingers on a waffle topped with 2 over easy eggs and served with hot sauce and honey. The eggs were glory, and while the waffles and chicken components were not the best I’ve ever had, they were not far from it. All together, a really well composed dish, especially when your wife decides to discard her jalapeños into your food; a surprisingly good addition.
Bill came to around 50 bucks, which is well worth it for the quality, portion, and atmosphere. The hundred times I came to Unilocal and asked, «where is there a great brunch near me?» How come this place never ended up on the radar? Brunch strong!

One of my new favorite spots in Nassau County. Have been here a handful of times and have not had a bad experience once. The waitstaff is extremely friendly and always seem to have a nice selection of craft beers on tap, as well as a nice bottle selection. It’s finally nice to see places on Long Island are realizing that there is more to beer then just Bud, Coors, Miller, and the occasional Corona or Dos XX. When it comes to the food I usually stick to same few items but enjoy every one of them. Mediterranean starter plate is a must.

Some friends and I decided to try out this place (5−15−16) as our picnic date turned out to be cold and windy.
The décor is simple and quaint. The ambiance is dark with dim lights. If you get a spot near the window it’s not too bad on one’s eyes. The entrance is cramped. It’s not an area you’d like to be in, as there’s barely any room to move. I strongly recommend that they remove the seating/​chairs they have as soon as you walk in. The low wall is enough for people to rest themselves on, and if you require seating, well, the table which my friends and I sat at by nestled between the large bay window and the bar would be ample waiting area for large groups, though, it would mean one less area to sit and eat, it would be much more welcoming.
There’s a California vibe by some of the décor on the walls and such. (San Fran more specifically).
The food was delicious and no one complained. When we got there they were switching over from lunch to dindin. Unfortunately, the dinner menu is quite on the expensive side, so I ordered something of moderate fare. I was concerned with the kitchen, in the sense that the menu contained so much seafood and being allergic to a majority of it, I was nervous of cross contamination. The waiter whom I asked about this, assured me that the kitchen is very clean and they keep the seafood separate from the rest. As it turned out, my food didn’t even have a hint of seafood on it, and the meal was as expected.
I got the fusilli dish which had a unique blend of ingredients. I am not a fan of goat cheese, and I asked the server to go light on the goat cheese, but it seemed like that request was ignored.
The service was very slow and the water service wasn’t great either. It was the longest lunner any of us have ever endured.
We did ask the server at the end to create separate bills for each of us. He managed to incorrectly bill several of us, and almost forgot to give me my invoice, which could have meant a free meal! We were a party of seven, but I don’t think that it would have been so easy to screw up the receipts. He had everything written down on his notepad. If he simply looked at that, he would have been able to easily determine who got what. I’m assuming that was discarded after he entered it all into the system.
The bathrooms are not noticeable as bathrooms. They’re fairly clean and organized. The soap smelled pretty good too.
The parking area is tight and small, but there are about eight spaces behind the building and about three spaces parallel to the building on the driveway entering to the rear.
Street parking might be your best bet, but I don’t know what city laws are there, make sure to check the signs!

Busy brunch spot for the locals, but party of two was seated relatively quick. Mimosa set is a must and omelets made to order are delish. Chicken and waffles also on point. Looking forward to going back for dinner.

We came in early– first people at the bar. The bartender was cool, offered a Pilsner.
The menu is short and sweet.
Highly recommend the turkey wings. Comes in a serving of 3– trust me you don’t need any more than that.
They got busy about a half hour later. Being that the bartender was bar tending, answering the phone and serving– the service was a bit slow. I can’t blame him, at least he has a decent personality and we laughed each time he came by.
We shared the chicken and waffle dish. Absolutely delicious. Best yams I’ve ever had. The chicken is grilled and served between the waffles and they were still crunchy. Perfect.
The food is deff up to par. I’m glad we got in early. I can’t imagine how crazy they get on the weekends.
I’d come back for lunch everyday if it wasn’t pricy.

We were seated quickly and got our drinks right away! The appetizers also came out quick as well as the main course! Everything was hot and delicious! Overall a good experience!

First experience at left coast after only hearing incredible things and it certainly didn’t disappoint! We went for Sunday brunch and waited about an hour for a table– which, was completely worth it.
Everything on the menu sounded incredible but we finally settled on sharing the banana chocolate chip pancakes and the truck stop. .only after going in on the delicious selection of baked goods and pastries that are offered on the table.
Every bite was better than the next. Despite being full, we both couldn’t help but continue back for more. Very excited to go back for another brunch and to try the dinner menu as well!

Ate with my husband here tonight and he loved the chicken with waffles. I enjoyed the mussels appy and hamburger very much. It is a Weds. Night and although the place was crowded we did not have to wait for a table. The food was really good and so was the service. I have eaten here before but forget to come more often. We will be back soon. i think that whoever orders that mussel appetizer will be pleasantly surprised. The broth is like lobster bisque and very hearty.

This place was great when it opened, but quality and consistency have fallen off a bit in recent years. Their menu always looks great, but some of the dishes are bland and read much better than they taste.
I do think consistency is the main issues because sometimes it will be spot on. I just don’t want to spend my evening taking a chance.

We were excited to try this place after hearing the buzz about it. Went one night for dinner. Waited an eon for a table. When we finally got a table, we were ignored for 40 minutes. Couldn’t even get menus or a glass of water. Everyone around us was being served, just not us. We got the message. We aren’t «their» kind of people. We won’t be back.
How was the food? No idea. We never got to taste anything.

First time brunching here and it was great! Sat at the bar with my brunch mate (after waiting a bit for a table before the bar opened up for a nanosecond in time and we rushed over) and had excellent service from the bartender, even though she was swamped.
The coffee is free! Free coffee. How nice is that?
I had buttermilk pancakes after studying the extensive brunch menu for 10 minutes. They have all sorts of awesome pancakes and French toasts and 6 egg omelet options! I’m boring, whatever. They were so soft and pillowy, I have no regrets.
My friend had hot chocolate with whipped cream on top which was fantastic from her review. Go get some brunch here.
Parking is tight. We went at 12ish on a Sunday and there were two open spots behind the restaurant that I squeezed my sedan into (barely). Around 1pm though there were tables open and no one waiting, so maybe have a small snack in the am and continue your breakfast in the afternoon hah!

We came with friends who have two children on Sunday afternoon. There was no wait and they seated us right away even before our friends arrived.
We ordered Truck’s Stop, Sneaky Pete, short stack chocolate chip pancake and Crab & Lobster hash with scrambled eggs. Food came out at reasonable time and everyone really pleased with their food. Service was friendly and attentive.

Excellent, delicious food!
I would have given 5 stars if the seating wasn’t so cramped. Thankfully I didn’t have to leave my seat during my meal because I’m not sure how I would have accomplished that. The hostess was very apologetic about it. I’ll be sure to request a booth next time.

When the Newsday Top 100 restaurants was released this week, we scanned the list and made a bucket list of nine restaurants that we really thought looked good and that we wanted to try. Left Coast Kitchen turned out to be the first stop on our bucket list.
We were not disappointed. It was certainly busy which speaks well for its popularity. In fact, we had to sit at the bar which turned out to be fortuitous because we had a lot of interaction with the hostess Amanda (she’s perfect for the job), the wait staff and the bartenders. The great thing about the staff is that they seem HAPPY to be there and excited about the food. And that made US happy to be there.
My son went with The Roadhouse (See picture), a nice pub steak on garlic toast smothered in mozzarella and a strong, earthy demi-​glacé sauce. An ample serving of delicious fries that you could drag through the juices made for a satisfying meal. The portion was so large that I caught about ¹⁄₃ of his plate. Sharing with me is a one-​way street!
My wife and I shared the LCK burger. Oh my gosh, it’s a double Angus cheese burger built sideways on an onion roll that looks like a railroad box car (seriously, check the picture!). It’s got cheese, bacon, homemade slaw and the most innovative onion roll bun I have ever seen. It did not require any condiments and easily cut into ½’s for sharing. Just a great burger but if you try to eat it alone you better save yourself all day for the effort.
For dessert we had the fried cheesecake. My wife and son loved it. Me… not so much. I just couldn’t get past the sensation of warm, sour pudding and it didn’t float my boat. The ice cream on the side was fine and there was plenty of whipped cream. So it wasn’t from lack of effort, it was more my personal taste.
At the end of the day, we found a warm, friendly staff, great food and innovative presentations. We are definitely going back and if this is what we find on the rest of our bucket list, we are going to need more buckets!

I was excited that I had recently bookmarked this place, and without ever mentioning it, my bf happened to bring me here for my birthday dinner. I’m not sure if you definitely need a reservation, but he thinks you do, so we made one. The interior was nothing special — just a bistro/​bar vibe. we sat in a wooden booth. He joked it wasn’t the best ambiance for an occasion, but the food would be worth it which was true. Service was top notch as well, the waiters dressed professionally and service was great.
I believe they change their menu from time to time; when I originally looked I found more options I’d like to try, but when there, only a handful I was interested in (however, I’m not big on seafood which limited my options since there are mussels, scallops, salmon, etc). I would have typically went with the mac n cheese (Mac Le Blanc) or the parmesan ravioli but since it was an occasion, decided to mix it up and try chicken+waffles for the first time.
I’ve been told the appeal of chicken+waffles is supposed to be the mix of sweet/​savory flavors, so I was a little surprised when the chicken ended up being grilled chicken (not fried-​bummer– but at least this was healthier). I also didn’t expect the sauce to be on the chicken/​waffles already, I figured it’d be on the side — but luckily it added great flavor so I didn’t mind. I loved the waffles and how they were cooked– not too crispy, not too soft, and it definitely does make an interesting mix with the chicken. The mashed sweet potato underneath them was amaaaazing– I ate that all up ASAP (so much for spreading that out as a side over the course of my meal!).
I’m told this place does a great breakfast, and looking at the menu, I’m freaking out — I NEEEED the chocolate chip banana pancakes or chocolate peanut butter pancakes. For dinner, entrees are a bit on the pricier side ($ 20−25+) so I’d probably just stick to dinner here for occasions or weekends, but will definitely be back to try breakfast!

Why do I keep giving LCK chance after chance only to be continually disappointed?
My husband and I bought a Groupon for ½ off at LCK on a whim. Never again.
We started with the turkey wings. At this point, the glamour is gone and beyond the size, there’s nothing special about it.
I had the «Fancy» chicken and waffle stack. They were freakin’ grilled chicken breasts with waffles. The chicken was thick and so dry that it was nauseating. It only works with fried chicken, man. If I wanted to be healthy I would get a salad.
My husband got the dragon Roll sandwich. It was like a salad or a sushi roll in a bun. There was NO need for the bun. I get that they’re trying to have the gastropub feel but this way off.
We didn’t even want to ask to have our meals changed because everything else we’ve tried there isn’t good.
It came out close to 60. Not cheap.
I left feeling so unsatisfied and super gypped.

the atmosphere is really nice.
The space is a lithe tight.
So the food was pretty good. But they aren’t very accommodating. We came for brunch and we asked if we can possibly have a kids portion of French fries they said no. We asked if we can have an omelet smaller then six eggs that was a no also.
We ordered a side portion of biscuit and gravy and that wad the best gravy I ever had. I got the corned beef hash with what’s on top. My eggs were sunny side up. but they didn’t cook then ask the way and they still had the snot on them.
My wife had the sneaky peat and they burned her toast and over all it was nothing special.
We asked for a small portion of scrambled eggs for our son and they gave the sane portion as for an adult.
So not very accommodating. But already they forgot to charge fOr the oj. And coffee us free do wife liked that.
We will cone back to see how the dinner menu is. I liked the pictures but haven’t tried it yet.

I swore myself I’d never come back, but a groupon and another look at the menu made me change my mind, and I’m glad I did.
I called earlier in the evening to make a reservation but it wasn’t necessary and we were seated immediately. Service was slow to start. We were seated for almost 20 minutes before we received our drinks and placed our food orders. There was no reason the bar should have taken so long. It wasn’t particularly busy and the bartender had plenty of time to talk with his fellow associates.
Sal was our waiter and you could tell how much he loved the restaurant and the menu. Everything we ordered he explained to us in detail and told us our choices were great. Here’s what we ordered:
Chicken chicharones: Sadly, our first batch was undercooked, but Sal quickly remedied it and we were able to enjoy it in no time. They were scrumptious! The chicken was tender and juicy and had a crisp outer coating. The portion was large for its $ 12 price tag.
French onion chowder: A must order. We were told that the menu changes frequently but this is always on the menu and I can see why. It was the best french onion soup I’ve ever had and the potato bacon chowder was delicious. I loved it. Again, the portion was huge.
Pork platter: My fiancé’s entrée. He enjoyed it very much. The beans were so good. The pork belly was tender. The only negative for me was that the bacon was pretty dry.
Lobster roll: I’m a big fan of Connecticut style Lobster rolls. They’re usually just lobster, butter, and bread. This was a little more complex. The butter had a nice kick to it. But the lobster was a little overcooked and chewy. And I wish they’d mentioned there was celery in it. Connecticut lobster rolls don’t typically have it and I don’t really care for it. I wish it was stated on the menu.
Our cocktails were also very good. The 50 shades of Earl Grey and the Red Hook on the rocks were strong but tasty.
I look forward to trying breakfast!

Someone clicked the Like button on an older photo of mine, which prompted a trip down memory lane. «Oh yeah, I should finish posting some review drafts from a while ago.»
A coworker & I stopped in for breakfast and it was early enough that we got seated with no delay. Our friendly waiter put in the orders in and brought over a complimentary plate of mini muffins and mini croissant to share. I got a Bloody Mary. Given the hipster vibe, it was pedestrian, with simple garnish on the spectrum of cocktail panache. Neither crafty nor a heavy pour for $ 8. I shoulda got a V-…wait, I did get one.
Chicken & waffles with a side of B&G. Sunny eggs cooked their way. The menu says chicken fingers, so I was aware I would not receive a plate of traditional bone-​in Southern fried chicken. Crunchy coating that needed a spice blend to wake the taste buds. That’s what the portion of hot sauce is for. The Belgian waffle was nice. Soft, warm biscuits, split, & topped by a measured scoop of gravy with meaty bits throughout. I wasn’t feelin’ the love. No soul. Perhaps I should not have ordered a Southern dish in Yankee territory, but the plate did fill the belly.
The lack of parking spaces is not favorable for the customer. The struggle is especially real in the city. LCK associates should park their cars elsewhere. We were in their tiny private lot and saw an employee park then walk through the kitchen door at the back of the restaurant. Did it bother me? Not at all, however, when more than a couple of reviews mention the parking as «difficult» or «sucks», then it’s worth a fix. Who knows how many people don’t bother to comment and instead take their business elsewhere. Every available parking spot is profit.
Maybe Tracy K is onto something with LCK being a rite of passage for mealtime enthusiasts. Service was good, but my one cocktail & meal experience fell short of spectacular. I tried it their way and wasn’t blown away. I finished my food and didn’t hate it either. That’s a-​ok with me.

If I wanted to play football I would go to a park. The waiters and bus boys were pushing into people who were sitting to get to
customers and it killed the vibe. My waiter was in a rush for everything, could not get a word in without a interruption. The food was good but also something I will quickly forget.
