Great place to shop for unique gifts. Most of the items have a country feel. Yet this is not the typical fair you would find in any gift shop. The owner seems to go out of her way to bring in interesting and quality items. Woven rugs, decorations, soy jar candles and flameless candles (to name a few).
If nothing else it is worth a stop just to chat with the owner. She is friendly and funny and really knows her products.

I’m not a big fan of the primitive style but many items here also fall under the basic «country» décor heading. They also sell rugs, candles, potpourri and a plethora of other items. Definitely a very cute little shop that’s been at this location for a few years now.
Parking is in the rear and a little difficult to maneuver. Hours aren’t great but they are open on weekends. Carriage Towne Primitives is a cute little addition to downtown Merrimac.
