History

Established in 2005.

I founded and built BASC Expertise in Arizona with a single purpose, to support growing businesses in Arizona. We began by providing the key services of bookkeeping, tax preparation/​planning and business and strategy consulting. Last year we also introduced a turn-​key solution for payroll and during 2009, we plan to continue offering powerful solutions for you to manage and grow your business.

We’ve worked tirelessly to insure our service remains personal and targeted to your needs and whether you are individual needing an LLC, a small company with employees or a publicly traded manufacturing operation, we have a solution for you.

Business Owner

Deirdre Morhet, MBA, is the founder and principal of BASC Expertise, a business consulting and tax service company; established in the Phoenix area in 2004. BASC Expertise specializes in working with business owners with traditional needs such as bookkeeping and payroll as well as consults with small businesses regarding increasing revenue streams, cash flow analysis and tax planning.

Deirdre also focuses on consumer tax issues such as short sales and foreclosures, and debt forgiveness. She has a way of helping the small business owners understand how vital their company’s financial health is in order to help them prosper. Deirdre prides herself on having a nontraditional accounting firm; she wants her clients to always feel like they can come to her with any questions or concerns and feel like she always has their best interests at heart.

A former NASA engineer, Deirdre is married to Jeff and they have four children. She is passionate about her family and friends

We started with them in February and pulled out in September. Unfortunately we were buying a house so we could not make a change. Dierdre depreciated 90% a piece of equipment in the FIRST year instead of spreading it across 5 years! We sold equipment and she still shows us owning the equipment. To date I have never received my quarterly payroll reports and after requesting them, I was told that I had to pay an additional $ 100 per company if I wanted them. Per my contract with them, my quarterly reports are included at no additional charge. I would not recommend them. When you leave their firm, they want you to pay them $ 500 for YOUR INFORMATION THAT BELONGS TO YOU. Go with a real CPA firm that will not hold your information hostage!

I searched online for accounting firms in my area. Deirdre was the only one to follow up with a phone call and an email. I dumped a huge project in her lap, expecting her to turn me away. Not only did she get me on track within 2 – 3 weeks (it was a HUGE project), working through Labor Day weekend as well, she is setting my company up for future success and is already helping us get on the right track in the eyes of the taxman! We know that we will have a long-​lasting relationship with BASC Expertise!

I am learning that finding a competent, professional and reliable accountant is an unbelievably difficult task. I am looking for someone new as my current accountant routinely takes in excess of one week to reply to the simplest questions. I contacted BASC and met with Deirdre and all seemed well, until they asked me to fill out their questionnaire — the standard form they all use asking about all of your assets and personal information. Unfortunately, instead of sending me a blank form, they accidentally sent me another client’s completed form — including all of their financial information, their social security numbers and their ban account numbers! I was aghast — I get that mistakes happen, but this one I thought pretty egregious.
