Francis and Sons Car Wash

They tried pushing a $ 72 car wash on me. I only wanted a wash and vacuum. It took me asking them 4 times to get the answer that I wanted which was their $ 12 wash and vacuum. After waiting, my interior still had some dog hair and dirt.
Also, they pulled me into an office and filed a claim for a small crack on my windshield in hopes that I would buy their services. I now owe $ 200 — $ 500 to pay for a small crack. I only wanted a car wash.
My brother in law told me about a terrible experience like this just today and it turned out to be the same place. Enter at your own risk, they use some pushy /​slimy sales tactics.

My husband took my car here over the weekend for the first and LAST time! The car was not cleaned well. There were finger prints and dirt around doors, trunk, and inside of car. Completely visible. It seems they rushed and missed a lot of spots and that’s that they had 2 people working on my car. Needless to say we will not be returning.

They did a great job detailing my car and spent over 90 mins scrubbing out a stain. The only issue I have with this place is the sales process. While I understand that upselling may be a good fit for some people who need additional work done to their vehicles, the aggressive approach they take is a serious turn off. The salespeople at the drop-​off act like used car salesmen, insinuating that they’re willing to give you– and only you– an unbelievable deal if you agree to upsell. After turning down several sales advances, they still would not stop. I don’t think I will go back even though my car does look great, mainly because I don’t have the energy to argue with their tactics.

So, first time here and initial impressions. I brought my Subaru here because I just had the dogs on vacation and the whole car was full of hair on the inside and some mud and dirt on the outside. I said I just wanted to get the bulk of the hair and get it cleaned up, but I only had an hour so nothing major. The guy kept trying to up sell me on the detailing, I kept saying I didn’t have much time, so just I really didn’t care if all the dog hair comes out because they’d be back in the car again. He kept trying to convince me they could wash it now and I could come back for the detailing later. When I think he realized I couldn’t be convinced, he just kind of moved on and seemed annoyed.
So I just got the best wash, the ultimate or whatever. So as I was paying at the cashier, the same guy then was behind the cashier and said they couldn’t wash my car through the normal wash because of the bike rack on the top of my car. I said it’s been through car washes lots of times, I asked what kind they had and said it had been through the cloth washers before. He said, well just if there’s any damage on it, that’s on you. I said fine, I wasn’t worried about it. So then another guy comes in and says they can’t wash it through the machine, they have to hand wash it for $ 10 more. Because they think it can hurt the machine. Sigh. I said fine, whatever, I don’t care, I just want to get it washed. A third guy talked to me about it, I said it was fine, I don’t care, go ahead. The first guy even mentioned it again while I was waiting for the car. Let it go, dude. You guys already got my 10 bucks.
So I feel like it’s already a whole thing. Basically, probably not the car wash of choice for Subaru owners or anyone with roof racks and/​or dogs that wants a quick wash. I also feel like if I’m getting the most expensive car wash, and they make they judgment call that they don’t want to put it through the wash, they shouldn’t charge me 35 percent more for that call.
It went through the wash. But the guy in the bay doing the drying and interior seemed in no huge rush. To be fair, it’s summer, it’s hot. But it looked pretty casual. Though he did do a good job, and so the only reason I’m giving even a three star rating is based solely on the quality of work he did. And it wasn’t perfect, but I couldn’t even let him finish. As it was, this car wash (when they weren’t at all busy) took over an hour and I had to get back to work.
So the quality was good. But goddamn, what a complete hassle. And took way too long for just a car wash on a dead day. The whole thing about the bike rack too, that was just ridiculous and I really feel that was more a way just to up charge since they couldn’t up sell. Could be wrong, but it felt like that.

Truck got washed and was put in in line behind three other cars waiting to be dried. There was no one drying vehicles until we complained of the back up. Truck was covered on water spots when I got it back. Lunch hour wasted. Needless to say I won’t be back.

I went to Francis and Sons on Wednesday. I bought the higher end wash, with detailing. I had high hopes that they could clean up my car, she hadn’t had a good wash in a few months. And this place seemed promising. (I used to come all of the time when it was Weiss Guys).
Right away, I was put off by the guy trying to sell me windshield repair. He wasn’t related to Francis and Sons, but they permit him to approach their customers. He pointed out a bird splat and tried to tell me it was a crack. And that he would bill my insurance for me, and that it would be covered. I declined, and he persisted to try to convince me to purchase this repair for a supposed crack in my windshield.
After getting rid of the annoying sales man, I left my car in the care of the gentleman who took my order.
The good: I have four kids, the interior of my car was pretty messy. I mean, crumbs everywhere. They got all of it up, and polished everything so nice. My car smelled fresh and clean. They also left the change that they could have easily pocketed without my knowledge.
The bad: After waiting about 40 minutes, they returned my car (but only after I asked the receptionist when it would be ready) and I immediately noticed greasy smudges on my white paint, more dirt on the door than before, as though they washed it off with an oily rag, and several spots of bird poo that they didn’t get off.
I drove my car off, and when I got home, I checked the entire car, and noticed greasy handprint marks on my trunk. I had to rewash my car when I got home, because they missed so many places, or caused more dirty spots! It’s pretty disappointing to say the least. I will not be going back.

Love this place! Always take their time and does it right. Feel like a get a mini detail for the price of a standard wash.
Normally use the Francis and Son’s on Higley & Main in Mesa, but have used other locations and the service and job is always consistent.
The only way they could improve would be free popcorn like my favorite Iowa car wash. ;)

I have used these guys for years and the wash jobs are usually pretty decent. I have also gotten my car waxed there 3 time. The first two times they did a pretty good job and charged me 59 bucks. This time they charged me 79 bucks and the quality of the job was very poor, they did the job by hand, not polisher and even missed portions of the car.
I contacted them on their web site and either they do not pay attention to the website or they do not want to face their customers, because they never contacted me back. Besides why should they care, they already got my money!
I will continue to get the car washed there, but will never again allow them to rip me off for the over priced wax job.

I was coming to get my truck washed here about once a month for about 3 years. And I watched slowly how this place gets worse and
last vist they did not do the interior windows this visit it had to go back through to get vaccumed again. Each visit I have gotten the 19.99 wash. I would have thought I would get what im paying for. The customer service from the cashier to the cleaners was nothing to want to come back anymore.

I have given this place several chances and time after time to keep letting me down. It seems that I never get a complete wash their spots all over the windows smears on the glass. I don’t expect a complete detail for $ 17 but I do expect at least a good wash

Marginal service at best. Car wash was acceptable, but I could live without the high pressure sales guys at the door. Last time I went there, the guy was an arrogant a** because I didn’t want to go with the hand wash. Claimed that my rims would be scratched by the track (which makes sense, but there is a right and a wrong way to convince someone of this). Went with the ultimate wash out of spite and had no problems. I have always used the Francis and Sons off of Baseline and Alma School and never had this issue.

Super high pressure sales guy who became an ass when I didn’t purchase his $ 165 sealant.

My 9 months pregnant daughter went there and her car was damaged — the door would not open all. Not good for a very pregnant women! When she drove right back there, she was told to meet with a manager the next day. We met with Ignacio who informed us that he would investigate the matter and call back in a couple days. Its been a month and NOTHING! They don’t have any cameras in the wash bay which would have proven what happened. The damage was minor but, their goal was not customer service oriented at all. It was making sure they did accept any responsibility. The complete lack of follow (even a negative response) shows that they do not value customers or employ good customer service techniques. We have been going there since it opened and we were always fine with the cheap car wash. They have completely lost our business and we intend on spreading the word to everyone we know so that they do not have to risk damage to their car or the complete disregard for longtime customers.

I purchased a Groupon for what was supposed to be a complete detail. However, apparently there are still lots of other services that are not included in the complete detail and they tried to upsell me rather rigorously.
When I picked up my vehicle it was apparent they had shampooed the carpet, but did a very poor job of rinsing out the detergent. They took it back and worked on it some more, but I still had to rinse out lots of suds when I got home. After just a little use, the carpet looked far worse than before F/​S Car Wash cleaned them.
My advise: look elsewhere.

All of the snowbirds know this is the place to get your car washed and detailed. Get the coupon in Valpack and get your car done with confidence it will turn out great. However this being the case, during the winter expect to wait at least one hour for your car to be done.

I guess they must be good but over an hour for a basic car wash? Never again…

Consistent clean car wash, good customer service. The up-​sales of «wax» and «detailing» can be a bit annyoing.

Took advantage of a $ 7.99 full-​service car wash. Quick, and they did an excellent job!

These guys are great. The price today (a Monday) was seven bucks for wash and vacuum. My old, dirty malibu is looking good and ready for the road. A note to the weather gods: can we hold off on the rain for at least a day? I took off one star for the pushy glass repair people. If I can find a car wash that doesn’t have those guys running around, five stars will be waiting…
