History

Established in 2008.

Ivan Martinez has over 20 years of professional experience on advertising, marketing and communication. He has worked on print and digital media. Throughout his career Ivan has worked for the Arizona Republic, the Seattle Times, the Yakima Herald Republic, the Des Moines Register newspapers and the American Express Card. During these years he was instrumental in the development and implementation of products and services that helped businesses better communicate with current and potential customers. Ivan has a strong understanding of marketing and sale processes and a solid background on graphic design. The combination of Ivan’s professional experience and his passion for photography is the driving force behind IMP. In addition to talent, passion and professionalism, IMP uses the latest in digital technology to capture, develop and display images in a way that is effective, affordable and quicker to implement than most traditional photographic processes.

Business Owner

Ivan was born in Caracas, Venezuela, where he attended Liceo Militar Anzoategui (LIMIJANZO), Later, he enrolled at the Catholic University Andres Bello (UCAB). After one year in the Engineering program, he left UCAB and moved to the US to pursue a marketing degree. He earned a BA and an MBA in marketing at the University of Northern Iowa In 1989. Right after graduating from UNI, Ivan went to work for Gannett in Des Moines, IA. That was the beginning of a 20 year career with newspapers. In 1997, he went to work for the Seattle Times family owned newspaper, the Yakima Herald Republic, as the New Product Development manager. After three years in Yakima, he was promoted to on-​line sales manager for the www​.seat​tle​times​.com where he worked until 2003. Ivan moved to Phoenix where he worked for the Arizona Republic as their On-​line Sales Operations Manager. After 4 years with www​.azcen​tral​.com, He decided to follow his passion to pursue photography as a profession.
