La Quinta Inn & Suites Mesa Superstition Springs

This La Quinta is located in a nicer part of Mesa, walking distance to many chain restaurants and a shopping mall across the freeway. The Superstition Springs area is kinda like its Arrowhead area counterpart in the West Valley.
The décor is modern and appears to be recently remodeled. The bed was firm and the cleanliness of the room was not great, mysterious hairs on the bed is completely unacceptable — gross! The breakfast was free and parking was plentiful.
Sadly, looks can be deceiving. I expected excellent service because of how lovely this property was, not so!
I’m very disappointed in the front desk staff and how unprofessional and rude they were. I base my hotel stays on the attitude of the staff and with other hotel options in the area, I DON’T recommend this place. I should had researched this place or looked at the reviews on their Facebook page before staying here. I was appalled to find out about a very tragic incident that occurred here earlier this year!

Very accomadating staff! I was here on business with a relative and they had the best price in the area and when we arrived they gave us an upgraded room. Breakfast is complimentary. We had to leave quite early and they provided us with breakfast to go bags!

Great place to be. I called at first as I was stuck needing a hotel on a Friday night the same weekend as Cardinals football. My dog just had surgery and I needed a nice area to stay to unwind that accepts dogs. This place fit it to the tee. I used the computer, had a phenomenal breakfast as well as the rooms very clean and neat. Judith the manager was very friendly right when we walked in and helped me get a room 30 minutes before check in. She was very nice and friendly and realized how disheveled I had looked just spending all day in Mesa. They have a laundry facility, outdoor pool, snack bar, and toiletries just in case anyone forgets anything. Used
to book the room and they even price compared for me to make sure I was getting the best deal.

warning… Website said 18+ could reserve a room but when my friend arrived to check-​in they were turned away for being under 21. It was a game weekend and they were forced to find a room at the last minute elsewhere.

Hotel was great, clean and good amenities. The best thing is that they accepted our 2 dogs without extra charge. Front desk was very friendly! When we come back to the valley to visit friends this will be our place to stay!

The room was clean and I was happy that my two dogs were welcome, but what really made me angry was that my credit card was charged for a night when I paid cash for my stay. Get paper proof that you’ve paid if you stay here. Do not trust what the front desk personnel tell you.

Very disappointed in this hotel. VERY DIRTY. Carpeting in hallways were filthy. My bathtub had someone else’s pubic hair in it. Very disappointed in the cleanliness of the hotel.

I don’t know why anyone isn’t giving this lovely hotel anything below 4 stars. Internet is fast and services are so friendly. They also have a shuttle driver that drove me to campus.
The hotel is beautiful and spotless in cleanliness. The sheets are not so comfortable though. They are a bit rigid for me. Like I ain’t from the army to want to endure that again. I did really like the room décor and set up. It was very lovely.
My other complaint is the frozen egg served for breakfast. Couldn’t they have defrosted that ahead of time? We aren’t in Alaska are we?
All in all. Great experience I would totally be back.

Don’t question it: stay here. We had to reserve last minute and were pleasantly surprised by the remodeled rooms and friendliness of the front desk clerk. Free breakfast is standard fare seen at any hotel, but overall a great experience. I would definitely stay again!

I stayed here for 2 nights while on a work trip. I was’t expecting much from a La Quinta but I was wrong. The entrance was gorgeous, obviously recently updated. The staff was pleasant and we got checked in quickly. the king bed was nice as were the furnishings. The bathroom you could tell wasnt really updated but it was clean and served its purpose. I was disappointed they didnt have lotion or seperate shampoo/​conditioners in the rooms.
The breakfast was very good for a quick meal. The pool looked nice but I didnt get to swim. The cable seems a little wonky, it cut out every so often. I would stay again though.

PAINFULLY SLOW INTERNET! Why have free wifi unless it can actually stream something. It’s a shame, because it’s a nice property. but impossible to get some work done or watch a show on the laptop. Worst internet EVER!
Update: the management wrote my a great letter, reassuming me that they were in the process of upgrading their wifi. Good news for those considering a stay here.

Stayed for 2 nights while our MH was being repaired. We looked around for a couple of day to find something decent at a reasonable price. I must admit I get very stressed out staying in hotels. Would never think to stay at a La Quinta, but this one was amazingly clean!!! Had no issues. When we booked they only had double beds available. When we checked in I asked again about a King and she moved us to a king for no additional cost. Just so thankful it was clean!!! Great location, lots of places to eat.

Stayed here two nights for the Super Bowl and it was horrible. We booked a double bed on the second floor. Everything about the room was small. The carpet had white stains. the sink had stains, the mini fridge leaked onto the carpet (we didn’t even use it). The beds were hard, the sheets were horrible, the flat sheet had holes. The bathroom was a joke. BEWARE of the stand up shower, 3 out of the 4 people fell inside the shower. The sides were extremely slippery. Needless to say I will not be returning here.
Only thing good about this place is the location it’s close to freeway and shopping malls.

Ok, so I’m not expecting 5-​star accommodation but I think the management needs to understand that the little things do make a difference. For example, they have the cheapest, 1-​ply toilet paper and the facial tissue is more like a paper towel. Also, just bar soap and shampoo? No conditioner or lotion? Come on, how expensive can these be? Otherwise, it’s ok for the price and, for me, the location was ideal. Would I stay again? Probably not. I’m big on the little things.

I was here for 5 days for a training for work. It was very nice and my minor problem was handled very quickly and politely by Sean on the first day my group was there. The room was newly remodeled and on the 6^th floor, AC worked great, bed was comfy and everything in the room functioned well.
Breakfast was included and there was at least 10 restaurants in the parking lot so you will not be hungry.
The only reasons I can’t give this hotel 5 stars is that the «business» center computer was down all week and the nice lady who refilled the breakfast buffet was very slow to refill the items, something was out of stock every few minutes of every day, milk, bagels, cream cheese, waffle batter, syrup.
Yes I would stay again in a heartbeat and everyone was very nice.

Don’t stay in room 106.
It’s right next to the fitness room. They have an alarm in there that goes off about midnight. It is unpleasant, and woke us up from a sound sleep.
It’s within earshot of the elevator, and you can hear conversations from people waiting to get in.
There are banging sounds now and then, makes me think that their plumbing is undersized (like the banging from turbulence in the pipes from many people starting their showers simultaneously).
Don’t expect any responsiveness from the front desk to any complaints, if they’re even there.
OTOH, the facility is nice, the pool and spa are good, and the extended continental breakfast is good.

Not impressed with the hallways that wreak of cigs… And it comes through the vents when the cooling system is on. Otherwise it could have been okay. I hate second hand establishments… Free cancer is on the free breakfast menu I guess.

I don’t normally frequent La Quinta’s but this one is convenient for my work in AZ. There are tons of eating choices within walking distance. The rooms are large, clean, and they have updated TV’s.
They have a nice continental breakfast in the morning with a waffle maker. I always try to stick to cereal! I would stay here anytime I’m in town and I would also reccomend it to others visiting the area.

I must say I usually stay at Hyatt’s and was SO impressed with this hotel. It was clean and the service was amazing! I also loved that it had about 7 different restaurants to choose from within walking distance. I would definitely stay here again!

I have stayed at this location several times, the first was back in 2006. We stayed there for 3 days if I remember correctly. It was clean and reasonably priced with our government discount. We had a dbl queen room on the 3^rd floor. I don’t remember to much more about this stay.
The most recent stay was on August 5^th. I stopped here again due to location and rates. I did not have a reservation but they had several rooms available. I opted for a King Deluxe room this time (I have stayed at other La Quintas and stayed in the King suites; if you don’t need that separate sitting room and couch the King Deluxe is sufficient). It has a nice desk with office chair, another sitting chair, recliner, dresser with flat screen TV. and to night stands on either side of the bed. It also comes with a mini fridge and microwave.
The hotel was clean and the staff was very friendly. I paid $ 86 for a Friday night (very reasonable– the king suite usually runs you about $ 100) It is cheaper if you book on-​line or have a Government or AAA discount, I believe the accept AARP as well. On-​line booking usually saves you about $ 20.
The best part of it is they accept pets at this location (some of their locations do not). They do not charge extra for pets, they just have you sign an agreement about damages your pet may make and give you a list of rules like having your pet on a leash at all times (your usual pet policies).
They have a continental breakfast from 7am — 10am; I did not try it but there were a lot of people partaking in the breakfast. They also have an outdoor pool.
The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 was due to the noise level. You can hear people in the hall when you are in your room and you can hear people in their rooms when you are in the hall. The other reason is they did not have a vending machine or ice machine on my level (level 2). I am not sure where they are located; I didn’t ask or go looking for it.
