Scarizona Scaregrounds

We loved it! I bought the First in Line Fast pass at $ 20pp — just get the regular $ 10 fast past. The lines are long at the haunted houses, which I thought were totally scary! The Zombie paint ball truck was fun to us as well, but the guns are attached to the truck. I was on the left side and thought the right had more targets, yet we all ended at the same time, so I think that’s perception and they’re probably even. On three people, we spent a lot of money on the tix and was in/​out in an hour ready to go to another haunted house. Overall, I loved it but probably wouldn’t shell out that much money next time. We did have a blast!

My girlfriend and I had a great time. I would have given 5 stars. But, one of the characters came into the beer garden. I thought that was weird. But I didn’t think anything of it cuz I figured he wouldn’t mess with people when they’re trying to relax and have a drink after going through a haunted house… then he did. I spilled half my beer all over my girlfriends jacket. After staring in disbelief for a bit, he just walked away. If the owners see this, do me a favor and tell the actors to stay out of the beer garden

Jumpy, Jumpy, Jumpy! Not the best place for props, but it felt like a videogame called «the last of us» I swore a clicker was there at every corner. Soo many people were dressed in black and would pop at totally random moments and do the bloody Mary scream. The strobe light made it so hard to see where you to go without tripping. I thought it was soo much scarier than fear farm, but also a lot shorter. It was super dark here!

This is a great place to go to that’s in Mesa! I love both haunted houses, there was something always scaring us in each corner! The costumes were scary and actors were amazing frightful! Then to top it off the Zombie paintball shooting was a blast the «troopers» played there roles and made sure we had a great time! I would recommend going to this haunted house!

Well! It was great a long wait for sure for all of the different things to do. You pay for the haunted houses $ 20 and then an additional 25 – 30 for the paintball one. We went to the haunted houses first which were good, more so startling and flashing lights then anything. We then got on a wait line for the paintball around 730 and waited to get on it until 930. DO NOT BUY THE ADDITIONAL ROUND TICKETS… The wait was 2 hours for a ride that took less than 10 minutes. You DO NOT HAVE TIME TO USE YOUR SECOND ROUND ($ 5 extra). That is definitely were they get you, so for the rest of my group that didn’t get to use the second round we gave them to other people waiting in the line. Other than that as far being with my friends, that was definitely the best part! Lol

This was the worse haunted house attraction I’ve been to ever. My friends and I go every year to a haunted house and I look forward to that outing every year as I do not get to go out often. We chose Scarizona because it was new and in the east valley (finally we didn’t have to drive for an hour). We always buy the fast pass to skip the long cumbersome lines and did so again for Scarizona. Well we found out that «long line» and «Scarizona» sure do not go together. This was beyond short lines though. There were no lines. And even more, there were NO OTHER PEOPLE. Maybe, at most, there were 2 or 3 other groups of people scattered around the grounds.
Now I know some may think ‘that’s awesome to not have to battle crowds’ and normally I would too if the haunted house themselves were anything more than, darkness, a few lights, well dressed actors, and walking. Oh and a dangerous metal grated step in the course that is NOT lit and has NO warning. I fell HARD! My friends almost had to help me walk back to the car. Its been a week and my knees still hurt. I’m actually debating going to the doctor to get xrays done.
To sum it up, I am very disappointed with the new attraction, the fast pass was worthless and a waste of $ 10, and the houses were dangerous.

I am Unilocaling from scarizona right now. We’ve been Waiting to get on the paintball tram for a full hour. The tram broke down and we are waiting for them to fix it. They won’t give us any return passes or partial refunds. This is so ridiculous!!!

Don’t waste your money!
Went on ¹⁰⁄₁₆ with four friends. This is our «girls night out’ Halloween tradition. We have been to several others in the past including, Fear Farm, 13^th Floor and, last year, Rob Zombie’s Nightmare. All three were better. Comparing Scarizona to these is like comparing the fort you made in your living room to any Frank Lloyd Wright structure — no comparison.
Details: we purchased the «Fast Pass» online to avoid lines (which was a joke, there were maybe 12 people there in total, besides the actors).
*Cost = $ 30 each (minus $ 2 coupon, plus $ 2 online fee).
*Location — close to the East Valley which is exactly why we chose it — wanted to go somewhere a bit closer this year. Hard to find, dark, though, as the previous reviewer said, they did have parking helpers.
*Atmosphere — non-​existent. We thought we were in the wrong place when we showed up. The website promotes a «carnival atmosphere» — there was NOTHING there. To be fair, it had rained hard that night, but they should have closed.
Instead, there was — no live music, no chainsaw gauntlet running, no other amusements whatsoever. The Beer/​Wine place was open and yes, we needed that $ 5 Bud Light to drown our wasted money sorrows.
*The «Haunted Houses» — were a joke. The «blackout one» was actually lighter than the other one. No special effects besides blinking lights (if you’ve been to the other decent ones in town, you’ll know what cool effects are possible).
MOST IMPORTANTLY — BE CAREFUL… the floors are uneven and there are STEPS!!! Which are NOT marked. One of my friends totally tripped, banged up her knees and hands. I fell on top of her and cut my knee and bruised it (this is where you step «up» to a metal floor/​bridge. Seriously — who makes steps in a dark place with no notice. This is a liability and they are really lucky we were not really injured (and that we have more important things to do than sue them).
**Before we entered the second house, I spoke with a worker and one of the owners, Tracy, who apologized for the lack of entertainment (due to the «rain»), but who offered to have us back «VIP Style». While I appreciated her efforts, by the time we fell and got hurt in the second house, we wanted nothing to do with this place/​people. Prior to the fall, I had asked Tracy if we could get our «fast pass» money back ($ 10), at minimum, as the park was clearly not making good on their promotions on line (music, food vendors, entertainment, etc). Tracey’s response was «no, we are a corporation, you know.» Thus, the «VIP» offer.
Sorry, given that the HHs are crummy and completely sub-​par quality (for the cost, especially) and that you had the park open with no extra features — we would not waste our time.
And please, don’t waste yours. We really wanted to support a new business, especially one located in the East Valley where we live, but the level of incompetence and irresponsibility with Scarizona is frightening… and that is about all that was!
**Refund our money, Scarizona… or at minimum, make sure you don’t have uneven floors and «steps» where people can get hurt.

Terrible quality. Would have been worth $ 15 not $ 35. Haunted houses took about 15 min to get through combined, and the paintball was another 15 min. Shitty props, paintball guns were set up like a carnival game, no entertainment outside of the haunted house. Do not waste your time.

Like the first reviewer stated, there is definite room for potential. It’s disappointing that a place which is well-​marketed doesn’t live up to the online hype. I thought my computer was messed up when I couldn’t purchase tickets online thru all 3 major browsers (Chrome, Firefox, IE), but it’s just their website. I emailed asking to see what was up and didn’t get a response back, so I instead had to purchase on-​site. There is a $ 1 off if you refer to promo code WEB1, valid on-​site.
The location is hard to find without the construction sign pointing you towards it. Literally is just off the Red Mtn and Alma School. There are parking people to guide you to the general area, some spots literally in-​between salt mounds.
It’s not worth the extra $ 15 for the zombie ride– was terribly under-​whelming and the left side seemed to get more shot opportunities than our side. There also weren’t a lot of zombies– do they need more actors? Probably. Could the few zombies have been more intrusive on the vehicle? Most definitely.
I did enjoy both of the houses but Epic Fear was far better than Slayer’s House. The website also mentioned a «Beer Cemetery» and a magician on Sunday’s, but neither were found. One employee didn’t have a reason for the bar to not be open, I didn’t bother asking about the magician after someone ahead of us in line asked and the gal had no clue. The Scarizona people have a lot of improvements to make me want to come back.

Had potential, but was terrible. Don’t waste your money. Worst haunted attraction I’ve ever been to.
The buy ticket function on the website didn’t work but there was no explanation why. Entrance to the event is poorly marked and the road you have to take has no lights and several potholes and other kinds of obstacles. The few people along it who are directing you are difficult to see. Guy at the entrance told us only one of the three attractions was open due to zoning issues. Maybe that’s why you couldn’t buy tickets online? Only thing open was the paintball. Were there when the park opened, with a total of about 6 other people yet waited in line for about 15 minutes to get on the truck that takes you around. It appears that they weren’t even ready to open. Weren’t many zombies to shoot on the ride and at the very end when there was supposed to be a lot, there was one. And it stood right next to the truck so you couldn’t shoot it because of the limited mobility of the mounted guns. Supposed to have a Beer and Wine Cemetery but pretty sure that didn’t exist either.
