My husband and I have moved about nine times in the eleven years we’ve been together. This was the year we finally decided to try movers instead of moving everything by ourselves or ask family for help. We don’t have a ton of stuff but this year with baby and there being multi levels we wanted to give them a shot.
These guys were AMAZING! They showed up on time and finished in about three hours.
The two guys that did the move were friendly and FAST *the entire time*. It was a warmer day but that did not slow them down. Pieces of furniture we thought they might have a tougher time with on the stairs they handled like professionals!
We will most definitely be returning customers. :) Worth every penny! Thank you Smooth Transition Movers for making our move buckets less stressful!

We are moving our stuff into a POD for 6 months while our new house is being built. This entails only needing movers to move the heavy stuff down our stairs and into our POD parked in the driveway. Most moving companies were quoting me some ridiculous numbers for something that would only take 1 to 2 hours, tops.
When I called here, the quote was adjusted lower because I wouldn’t be needing movers for long and I wouldn’t be needing them to drive my stuff anywhere. The price was very fair. The day before our move, the owner called to confirm the reservation and give me a heads up on some details… then! Gave me the opportunity to ask if I had any questions. This impressed me again!
The movers were early! And fast! And gentle with our stuff. We will definitely be using Smooth Transition again come September. Great job! The owner cares and that really shows.

I recently hired Smooth Transition Movers to handle my office move, on the recommendation of someone in my building who was also moving. They asked me to do a review, so I agreed. I just have to be honest that it’s not going to be quite as glowing as they might have hoped. Don’t get me wrong; they did a competent job, especially with navigating a two-​story building with no elevator (how is that possible in these days of ADA?). I think the concern was more communication. I first contacted them by phone about a month before my planned moving date, and the guy I talked to, Alex, was super nice and said he would be emailing me a confirm and cost estimate. However, it never came, so I had to follow up with him weeks later and he apologized and sent it right away. Also, he delivered some boxes for me to pack some of my stuff myself before moving day, but he placed them in the lobby of my building where I never go because there is a side door that is closer to my office. Luckily he called to let me know he had dropped them off. I asked why he hadn’t brought them to my actual office suite, and he apologized and offered to do so. I declined and with some physical effort managed to schlep them to my office. They turned out to be used and not in the sturdiest condition and many still had labels on them from someone else’s move, which I had to remove or cross off and remark for my use. Then a week or so before the move, I emailed requesting a few more boxes as I was running low. I never heard back so I bought some boxes myself. I emailed them later to let them know I didn’t need any more boxes. Then I called the day before the move to make sure we still were on since I did not hear back at any point regarding the additional boxes. Alex said he had been emailing me all along but then said he didn’t know anything about my request for additional boxes. What?!? On the day of the move, a call came in between 9 and 9:30, the time block in which the movers said they would arrive, and since I didn’t recognize the number I let it go to voicemail. I listened to the voicemail message and it was Kevin from Smooth Transition saying the move was scheduled for 9:30 (what!!!) but they were ready to come over now. If I wanted them to come early I was to call; otherwise they would wait until 9:30. I called back but the call went to voicemail and the voicemail box was full. To my surprise they arrived at about a quarter after. I told Kevin I tried to call but that his voicemail box was full so I couldn’t leave a message. All he said was he never saw the call as his ringer was off. If you work for a moving company and are on the clock, wouldn’t you ensure that your voicemail box was NOT full and that your ringer was NOT off?!? He brought two guys with him, and all three were friendly and even somewhat chatty. The only bad thing with the actual move was I told them not to take my cleaning supplies (including my upright vacuum) in the move as I was going to use them to clean out my old office after they had moved everything out. They ended up taking everything over and then I had to take it back to clean. Not a biggie; only a few blocks as it turned out, but still. I will say that when I got the bill it was about 50 percent more than the estimate (took them about an hour and a half and the estimate was for an hour). However, they don’t appear to have charged me for the boxes they did deliver. LOL! ;) Would I hire them again? Maybe, maybe not. Not a bad experience, just not great, and you don’t want any surprises or extra frustration when you’re moving.

It was awhile ago that they helped us move, but they are first class. I called the morning of, within 2 hours they were there to move, and finished up everything within 2 hours — quick efficient, very well mannered, and excellent work ethic. Would recommend them again and again and again, and anytime I need some movers, I have a good reliable company that I can call. A+++++

I wish I give these guys more stars but I think you get the idea. If you’re looking for professional, courteous and understanding movers to work with I wouldn’t recommend anyone but these guys.
This is why I think so highly of them. I bought a bedroom set from someone and we had a misunderstanding of the transfer of funds. The pick up was for a Saturday morning. I had only given Alex and his crew a few days notice to move the bedroom set. He accommodated us on very short notice. Well an issue arises Friday evening and I had to make a dreaded call to Alex to cancel the move.
I knew he had already the job coordinated and I’m sure he had to rearrange his schedule a little to help us. When I gave him the bad news he was more than understanding and remained professional the whole time. I personally would’ve been pissed but he said it was Ok. I felt really bad.
A few days later I text from the person who I bought the bedroom set from and said the funds went through. I now needed to find a mover to move the stuff from Mesa to Surprise. On top of that we wanted to have the furniture delivered in a few days. I had the audacity to call Alex back and he said he couldn’t do a the weekend because they were booked but he could move it on Friday night… at 7 PM! That was crazy because I don’t know of any moving company who would pick up and deliver that late. Fortunately for us it worked out great for everyone because of our work schedule. They picked up the bedroom set at 7 PM in Mesa and had it delivered by 8:30 in Surprise.
They did a great job. I wasn’t there but my wife said they were fast and efficient. To be even more annoying I asked for a bedroom set from downstairs moved to upstairs before the other bedroom set was brought in. They were so accommodating. My wife was so impressed she gave a very generous tip considering it was late Friday night.
The main reason I went with Smooth Transition Movers is they are a veteran own company and we are a military family. I like to support small businesses and veterans. They gave a nice discount for military members but were very reasonably priced without it.
I can’t thank Alex and his crew enough. If you need patient, courteous and honest movers, these are your guys.

I have always been the one to help friends move, I have even done my own moves by myself! I will never have to move again by myself Alex and his team went above and beyond the call of duty. They not only used blankets, taped around all the furniture no matter what the condition and handle all of my family’s belongings with care. The 26′ truck was new clean organized ready for the move! The staff was professional, early and moved with an urgency! Not to mention they continuously kept moving! I’ll be sure to pass them on to everyone I know! You literately can’t go wrong with smooth transition movers!

I used Smooth Transition Movers this weekend and was pleasantly surprised. Fast courteous workers and I never felt like I needed to hurry them along.

Great company! I was moving locally, and I called only 2 days before my move and they were able to accommodate me! I also bought a new couch at Living Spaces, and they were even able to make a pit stop to pick it up for me. They were very quick, efficient, and affordable! No minimum hours are necessary so you literally pay for their hours worked. I would definitely use them again! Special shout out to Kevin and his team who helped me out! You guys were great!

I was looking for movers who had good reviews and decided to hire these guys. If there were more than 5 stars available I would give them more. Today was my second move with them and I am using them again next week. They are so polite, personable and professional that moving was actually a pleasant experience. Everyone we have had so far has been a really hard worker, efficient and handled our belongings with the utmost care and respect. I’m not the type who writes reviews but in this case I had to. They are THAT GOOD.

I was researching movers when I needed a few things moved from my old house to new one. This company was the most affordable bc they do not have a two hour minimum. Not only are they affordable but Alex and his team are extremely polite and professional. The movers worked hard and still managed to keep a smile on their face. I will use them again!

These guys were very respectful of our property and very polite. They wrapped all our furniture and made sure everything was protected. They worked constantly. Very nice guys. Would recommend them highly.

This review is looooooooooong overdue!!! While price shopping, we found that Alex’s was reasonable and booked him at that time. $ 75 for 3 movers and truck with a $ 40 gas fee. We have had movers before and they did their best to stand around and run the clock but not these guys. We have used Alex and his team multiple times now and each time they have been professional, thorough, and fast.
No questions asked, we would definitely hire them back in a New York minute, thank you again for all the help Alex!

First time Unilocal reviews were not similar to my own. Was really looking forward to 5 star service and at very first it was, they had straight forward estimates in a professional and friendly manner. I spoke with Alex, who got the details of the move and booked the services.

That’s what we agreed on and got confirmation for by email but the day of the move only two guys showed up in the smallest truck they could rent, so because there was a third of the manpower missing and the truck was so small we had to make a second trip that made for a huge waste of time and being paid by the hour only worked to their advantage. because I did not get what we agreed on I tried to renegotiate the deal and the only thing they did for me was take $ 10 off the hourly rate! They didn’t even allow for credit for the wasted time in travel and set up time necessary because of having to make a return trip. Alex knew the details and logistics, why did they rent a 17′ truck??? the two young guys that showed up were friendly enough but only one of them moved at good steady pace the other one tired out halfway through the job and was making several trips carrying very light stuff to the truck. The work load was very lopsided and we felt bad for the little guy who did most of the heavy lifting.

Don’t hesitate to call if you need help moving. They sent confirmation ahead of time, called 30 min before they arrived, exactly on time as promised & very professional. Got us moved in a few hours & took very good care of our stuff. Definitely will use them again in the future. Thank you Alex & team!

Smooth Transition Movers is the real deal. I’m always skeptical when I read 5-​star reviews but I’m about to write one to add to their perfect status. Alex (owner) Kevin and Donny provided such an incredible service that I couldn’t wait to add my glowing review and recommendation for them. I told my wife that «it was the best money I ever spent today.»
In support of these comments let me explain. I called them based on Unilocal reviews (like mine) and asked for a ‘next day’ crew to help load a 26′ rental truck. Alex (the owner) answered and said he could help. I was skeptical but he called back minutes later saying that he could be there with a 3-​person crew. As promised, he called me to let me know that they were en route. Showed up and introduced themselves. Surveyed the situation and began loading the truck. Less than two hours later they were done. So impressive!
I was betting against everything fitting but the team did such a professional job that I had room to spare. I couldn’t be more pleased. Truly if I could tell my friends about these guys I would. Next best is to tell this story on Unilocal and hope that you find my review. These guys rock! You will not be disappointed.
What more could I say? Please do yourself a favor and use Alex and his team for your moving needs.

I cannot give enough praise! These guys really did an awesome job and surpassed my expectations! I just moved here from Houston, and I had a U-​Haul loaded with all of my earthly possessions that needed to be unpacked and staged inside of my apartment. The crew was on time, friendly, and SUPER EFFICIENT! It took them 30 minutes! There was no minimum for their time either (unlike the underwhelming mover that I used in Houston). I would absolutely use Smooth Transition Movers again. Be sure to tip them well!

I have nothing but good things to say about these guys. Alex and his team helped me move twice already. They are very professional, on time (couple minutes early actually), accommodating, and quick. They moved all of my items in less than 3 hours! They’re also super friendly and funny which is a big plus. I’m a property manager and have been in the business for 10 years. I know good customer service. I help many people move into their new homes and I only recommend people and businesses that I’ve personally used and loved. Well. I’ve already sent multiple people to Smooth Transitions. I am so happy to have finally found someone I can send them to! I would very highly recommend this company if you want a quick, honest, and pleasant move. Oh, and their pricing is competitive, so you’re not going to pay an arm and leg to get your stuff moved with some good customer service.

Made reservations through the U-​Haul website for help unloading upon our arrival in Phoenix. Somehow U-​Haul couldn’t find our reservation on our arrival day and said we have to start from scratch to find help. Instead, we went online and found Smooth Transition Movers directly, spoke to Alex, and he set us up with two helpers on ridiculously short notice.
Movers arrived on time, ready to work. We couldn’t ask for anything more from them. They handled all of our belongings with care, seemed to instinctively know where we wanted everything placed, and finished in much less time than we thought we needed (so they reduced their charge). They were highly professional and friendly. The rates were more than reasonable. We recommend these guys wholeheartedly.
